Cut Down out of a Tree - Rescuing Two Blackbird Eggs

- Some fragile blackbird's eggs were almost destroyed when a tree was cut down. I managed to save the life inside and a beautiful blue egg hatched in my hand. But then babies needed te be protected from some giant new born baby chickens.

Raising little newborn blackbirds isn't an easy job. I had a special mixture I could feed them... every 15 minutes, together with some insects and soaked puppy food.
I was so grateful to be watching these alien little creatures. Im always so amazed to see something this tiny being so perfect... something this fragile growing into a flying bird.
I hope I was able to bring some of the awe I have felt in taking care of these little ones across.
I'm able to dedicate myself in taking care of these helpless creatures and sharing this with the world because of the help of our loving community.

in my country its illegal to keep any native birds in possession they don't care if u halping them or saving them but every time i get chance to help bird ill do it becouse authority mostly don't do anything about them, It's worth taking risk becouse as bird lover why not,im not gonna keep them i just help them and if they are in goodhalth i reles them in wild.❤👍

I think the extended family help. Anyone in the colony who doesn't have kids of their own help to feed and protect them.
@@virglibrsaglove Colony? Blackbirds aren't living in flocks. As far as I know, they're territorial and lives in pairs.
@@SysterYster Maybe different kinds live differently. The kinds I've watched do live in huge groups. I could look it up. But I'm pretty sure ours help care for each other's babies. I've personally seen many together defending babies. "Black bird" is a pretty general term. So maybe the "black birds" in your area are different than mine. But mine live in groups.
@@SysterYster I looked it up. They vary considerably between the different kinds. In some kinds the mothers feed the babies by herself. In some, the fathers feed the babies as well. And some kinds live in big family groups where anyone who isn't breeding yet helps to raise the babies and even feed the mom while she's on the nest. So, both answers are true depending on what kind of "black bird" a person is talking about. Probably yours live only in pairs feeding the babies alone. And mine live in big family groups helping each other.
@@virglibrsaglove this specific species of blackbird, the eurasian Blackbird (Turdus merula) is known to be highly territorial and the male brings food to feed both the mother and the chicks for the first few days. But other thrushes like fieldfares that are closely related to European blackbirds nest in colonies and form flocks. I think a species of American blackbird, the red winged blackbird, also forms flocks in migration but then males turn territorial once they start breeding! You're right, it completely depends on the species and what each person means by "blackbird". Also some species of birds have nest "helpers" that protect and feed the offspring of another couple, these are usually birds that are either too young to mate or weren't successful at attracting a mate. It's all very interesting breeding behavior and very fun to read about.
That moment when you check an egg with your light, and there's a heartbeat or movement of life developing inside. I cry each time. Precious.

@@NamuTheOrca you obviously dont watch his channel so let me inform you he does not keep wild animals he rehabilitates and releases. He is a rehabilitator people bring ill animals to him and he helps then releases, he only keeps animals that cannot be released his chickens are pet as well as the squirrels. Learn before you judge. Your attacking him for doing the right thing. He never tells anyone uts easy or they should go and do what he does.
@@NamuTheOrca he’s not licensed but hes good at it and knows what he’s doing. Criticism isn’t needed in this situation considering how well the birds turned out. He never harms the animals and does everything in his best power and knowledge to rehabilitate them. Yes a wildlife rescue can also do the same but this one man is rehabilitating this animals better then some wildlife rescues ever could cuz he actually cares about them

@@NamuTheOrca He IS the local wildlife rescue there. They don't have an organization like that in his area. So, he does it. He is trained and extremely experienced. He's been doing this since he was a boy and was taught how by a mentor. I don't think lacking a certification in his case matters at all. He is clearly lacking in nothing aside from that piece of paper. Those of us who watch him regularly know how well he does. And we are grateful for him.

Actually baby birds don't need to be feed at night as in the wild the adults wouldn't be hunting for food in the dark, but dawn to dusk is still a lot of work.

@@fnaf_nerd Psst, a tip. Shine on the bottom of the egg with a flashlight. That way you will know if there is a baby in there. And by doing it every week you can see it grow.

It made me feel so validated to see I’m not the only one with a menagerie inside of my incubator LOL sparrow egg hatched, quails in 10 days as well as a pigeon egg, and the blue mystery egg I found in the yard may even be fertile, wish me luck! You remind me so much of my husband 😂🤣 his beard has been a bird warmer many a time as well🥰 I love your videos! My mother has raised entire generations of blackbirds in her backyard on raisins. One will come to the windowsill whenever she enters the kitchen. They're still skittish though and they are very independent, but they go nuts for raisins.
6:30 i love how the camera focuses on the baby chickens doing what chickens do, and then it pans over to the baby blackbirds squirming around and screaming with their mouths open.
i also love how at 7:47 everyone was sleeping peacefully, then he knocks on the window to see if the chicken is alive and everyone wakes up immediately. good vid
