  • This is a short video showing how to repair heavily pitted, thermostat housing and water pump housing pipes. This method shows you how to get a mirror finish using JB Weld Original with out sanding. Other methods require sanding down and often going back to refill any imperfections.

Thanks. I have an idea for you. Do you still have any of that Mercedes hose you cut to 58mm for the short hose section of the water housing assembly? If so, you could send me a piece and I will give your channel a shout out in the next video? I would pay for postage etc. You are so close to the 1000 sub mark - maybe a mention on this channel would get you over the line and en route to monetisation? Mike

If you want to make a flat surface, say on the face of a flange, waxed paper also works nicely. Then you set the part on a flat surface while it cures. For something round like that I was thinking... would a lubricated condom work?

Thanks for you comment - probably a stupid question but how would waxed paper fill the pits? In the context of a water pump which gets hot would the wax simply melt...or am I missing something? Let me know. Mike
