There’s no need to spend billions of dollars to make stations look so good. I would rather have a modern station for less money. I’ve heard internal sources say that the blow out is bc they wanted to go even grander than the northwest metro. There is just no need. Would rather have one or two more station than making stations look world class.

I'm not surprised what you've revealed is going on. That only serves to make the argument we can't afford new infrastructure because they know these blowouts are inevitable because they insist on gold plating for pomp and publicity instead of being more utilitarian.

Martin Place is one of my favourite Train Stations but it’s safe to say that the Metro makes me love it even more. Especially the Tunnel that takes you to the Trains. All the lights! 🤯
Macquarie Bank happen to own the new metro overstation commercial high rise office tower adjacent to their exisiting HQ on Martin Place…. Funny that… explains why the finishes are so posh #banksters
