    Tumble Dryer Fan Wheel: www.how-to-repair.com/tumble-...
    1. Make sure you unplug the machine :)
    2. Remove the lower back panel, about 8 screws i think, may be a good idea to lay the machine on its front, protect with a dustsheet/old duvet. Also remove the plinth
    3. Release the main drive belt, shouldn’t be too difficult to get off.
    4. Take note of wiring and then disconnect wires leading from the motor, only 3-4 wires depending on model, take a photo
    5. Looking to the front of the machine from this access point you should be able to see a "disc" over the motor shaft that seals to a plastic duct at the front (sometimes there is a small black plastic peg that holds it in place), turn this disk to unlock it, It should only move an inch or so in whatever direction.
    6. undo 4 screws at the base then just slid the motor complete with bracket and PROBABLY damaged fan backwards and out for further inspection.
This is a common fault and will be the problem as it normally is, The fans are just pushed on with a small black clip providing tension to hold the fan on to the shaft, They tend to wear and just spin on the shaft of the motor and cause a horrid vibrating noise,(remembering to fit the big disc on the right way round before the fan, REMEMBER the clip as well), then just reversing the order of the previous instructions.

Great video. Sadly, White Knight have gone bust. My fan was warped and bumping away noisily. i didn’t know it was warped until I got it apart. No parts available on internet or anywhere so it seems. Well, I couldn’t bear to ditch the machine for that so I took out the motor and lined it up with a piece of wood so I could see how much the fan was warped. With the aid of a hot air gun and some very careful observation, I was able to almost completely correct the warped state. You need to look where and how it’s warped then with your hands try to squeeze or twist to compensate for the warp. When you think you have found it, then you need to heat that part you identified. It’s very incremental and small adjustments are best. Heat it and bend gently then hold until cool. Keep offering it up to your mark and make corrections accordingly. I looked at the housing and there is quite a bit of room around the fan. Enough to allow a little warpage. I got mine fairly close, put it back in and it works. So, if you are like me and don’t want to scrap it without a fight then it’s worth having a go. Purrs like new now. Hopefully it will last.

Brilliant video, thanks very much. Several of the blades of the fan on my machine had snapped off, and the damaged fan had worn a hole in the housing. Thanks to your video it's all running sweet again. You've saved me a few hundred quid for sure.

Really glad it helped you the plastic can get brittle and this is what causes them to snap. Hope you had a good New Year. Please remember to subscribe to the channel as that helps us

Great video, thanks so much. FYI, when putting the back panel on, I found it easier to attach the internal hose housing to the panel before putting the panel in place, as you can hold the housing steady. Thanks so much!

Hi Steve. Thanks a lot for your videos about the internal problems of White Knight. These are inspirational almost in order to overcome the fear of how and what parts must be removed for fixing some problems. In my casae in an old WK tumble dryer (17 years old), there was a very noisy scratch. The problem was that the blower fan was out of its axe and scratching the internal blower's case. Fixing it has been possible thanks to industrial adhesives and re-calibrating the rotor with some adhesive sheets of aluminium and copper. 🙂

Followed this video in order to declutter our WK drier which is about 10 years old and has never been cleaned out! I was prompted to do so because of a rattling sound which I am guessing is the fan assembly - from the looks of things I am missing the clip you describe at 6:49. I have put it all back together and the drum is noticeably smoother but the rattling still persists. I did cable tie the fan to the spindle but didn't think it would hold and I definitely need that clip! Do you stock said clip on your Ebay store by any chance?

I was told by Crosslee to leave metal clip in place. Indeed i couldnt work out how the clip was put on afterwards though i tried this method as well . It was really difficult to push the fan onto motor spindle and in the end i put a bit of marge on the spindle, put open end of fan on flat board on ground and pushed the spindle into fan. If it doesnt go all the way to the bottom of the wide bit of spindle it will rub. it will be a lot easier next time im sure.

The big problem with these tumble dryers now is spare parts. You want to inspect the pads at the front of the tumble dryer and also the bearing unit at the back of the tumble dryer. These are the only two bearings on these machines. Have a great Christmas and a happy New Year and I hope you get the machine fixed glad we could help you Irish Andy this is for you czcams.com/users/shortse432SAb2g08 please remember to subscribe as that's what keeps this channel going. Hi. I’ve followed all instructions to the letter but my new fan is rubbing against the housing. I have forced it into the motor spindle as far as it goes but still appears to rub on front face of fan. Any suggestions?

use a little washing up liquid to allow it to move that little bit more.

What about filing a bit off the fan so that it can sit further back on the spindle?
