What a stunning piece of music. What an amazing harmony. And your comment, Bryden, about capturing a moment in time which some pieces of music do - picking up some particular time at particular place and handing it over for us to cherish and respect is so well said. It is certainly one of the reasons why I come back to particular performance of piece of music over and over again instead of picking some random versions of the same song. Did you notice that when listening to this video with headphones, Lara's voice is only in the right ear, Maurane only the left and the guitar central?
Thank you Bryden for reacting to this. I realy appreciate that you go deeper in the artist's work than the four or five songs in english commented by every one. It's realy nice to see someone who doesn't stick to the strongs high belted notes but goes to the lightness, the subtlety of music too. Someone who looks outside of anglosaxon's pop music. You always draw my attention to some details I didn't heard by myself.
I agree with Rima Sosa. I don't know where did you found this translation but it's not quite accurate. Here is my poor atempt to. But it's realy hard to keep the "french" spirit of the lyrics in english.

I have some suggestions for you. I'll be pleased if you looked into Eivor Palsdottir, Rhiannon Giddens, Youn Sun Nah, Lhasa de Sela, Barbara (french great singer, song writer and composer) or Jacques Brel artistry.
You should watching Lara singing Bossa nova style. Song "Tout" in bossa nova.
