    during a power outage you could screw this one into a lamp or ceiling light socket to light up a room without having to hold it

    Greetings. Thanks for your review. Sorry to bother you with these questions but this is such a new frontier It's hard to find helpful information. I need something like this bulb but can't seem to find any products that suit my needs.
    In an ideal world I'd buy a big solar panel, put it on my roof, run a wire down to an outdoor lantern, and put in a 10 2700K LED bulb. Presuming the panel had it's own battery built into it. It would have to weather very hot California summers but minimal rain.
    That's the dream. The reality is something more like this bulb. But I'm curious why they can't double the size of that panel to double the output of this light. I wouldn't mind if the bulb got 'fatter' to house more battery because my lanterns are frosted.
    One notion is to stick two of these bulbs into one lantern (to double the light) but then if it has a light sensor light 1 may prevent light 2 from coming on, defeating that purpose.
    Are you aware of a solution I'm missing? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

      No but they do make bigger versions (Higher lumens or light output) of these lights, this was just a medium sized one that I wanted for my work area should the power go out. You could also cut off the panel, strip the wires, and connect a larger panel to this light for faster charging. Mine tops off a little bit every few days with the supplied panel but I am not using it every day. A bigger panel might help.

      @@Iridium242 Thanks for your reply. I wasn't really seeing brighter ones. And I've been all over Amazon and AliExpress. I think 160 Lumen is the brightests I've seen. You've seen brighter? Are you talking about the one that looks like a flying saucer?

    Crazy question: Do you think it would be possible to daisy chain 2 or 3 of the panels together for a quicker charge?

    Thank you for the review as always!!! Always good! How long does it take to charge? Sorry If I missed that. P.s. Hope your wife is doing well and you are cooking creatively and tasty for her. 😊

      @Iridium242  Před 5 lety

      haha there is no cooking for her, she is on liquid diet for 2 weeks, so we have been stocking up on broths and soups along with meal replacement shakes lol but she is doing good. Once this is over she can go back to soft food for a while then normal. As for the light, I have no way to test it as the light just blinks green when charging and never turns off so I will have to time it on the panel (Which i think would take a while from a total dead battery) and the plug.

      @@Iridium242 ok. Kinda like the Luci lite. Takes a long time to charge from strictly solar. I tell ya, Those little solar lites that line your walkways..they charge in the day, and last almost all night. And cheap..a buck at the dollar tree. I'm making Christmas gifts with them using mason jars. Great free night lites and pretty too. Just leave them in the window. 😊
