Remember that Pacquiao fought 4 out of the TOP 5 Welterweights during this August 2008 ranking. He fought Cotto, Clottey, Margarito and Mosley. Pacquiao is the smallest among all these welterweight fighters and started pro at 98 lbs and become a Lineal + WBC champion at 112 lbs. Pacquiao is fighting outside his comfort zones unlike Mayweather. Fact is all of Pacquiao's 8 division title championships were all held outside his country.
While Mayweather Jr, announces retirements for several times. 1st was after the A. Gatti fight, 2nd was after the Dela Hoya fight (he refuse to rematch Dela Hoya), 3rd was June 2008 (after the Hatton fight), 4th was after A. Berto fight, 5th after the C. McGregor fight (an MMA fighter with ZERO Boxing record).

2016 = NO fight
2017 = 1 fight against C. McGregor (an MMA fighter with ZERO Boxing record).

Over half of David's game was to ram his head into his opponent and climb on top of him to the ropes. Manny took that away. Every time David tried it Manny stood his ground then drove Diaz back. Completely removed all of David's offense. That's why Manny was able to just stand there and fire away with impunity. Smart. Strong. Fast.

Manny Pacquiao is a 100% all time great 💯. A certain, future Hall of Fame inductee. His legacy is cemented in stone, for sure. Sometimes known previously as the "Mexecutioner" for his history of defeating SO many Mexican World 🌎 Champions, the likes of Morales , Barrera, Diaz, De la Hoya, & Juan Manuel Marquez, to name a few!! He's beaten Hatton, Algieri, Cotto, Mosley, Broner, Clotty, & Thurman, he was blatantly robbed & consequently lost a split decision to Australian club fighter, Jeff Horn. Amazingly, he's been through 9 different weight divisions & captured titles in each one!! He's a national hero in his native country of the Philippines. He was a former congressman, a senator & rumours are that he's planning to run for President!! And yet amazingly, Pacquiao is still fighting as a holder of a recognised World 🌎 Championship belt!! The one that he took from Keith "ONE TIME" Thurman . If I'm not mistaken, it's the WBA 147 lbs belt. Manny also fought & totally dismantled rated fighter, Lucas Matthyse, in stunning fashion. Personally, as much as I enjoy watching him train, spar, & fight, I'd also, albeit sadly, be pleased to see him announce his retirement & call it a day now. He's got nothing left to prove & there's also a lot of hungry, young talent in those weight divisions & I don't want to see Pac man getting young unknown fighters trying to make a name for themselves by beating him.
