What's even funnier is that if they had tanned the frog skins properly, they wouldn't have been able to get through the tentacle area.
There's a bonus chapter in the manga explaining that this only works when the skin still has frog secretions, so you can't dry it.
This kind of thing and Namari's crossbow skills are exemples of how crazy lucky these guys are sometimes
You really don't need the bonus chapter explaining it, the smell of the frog is what prevent the tentacle attack, drying the skin logically would minimize or even complete eradicate the frog's smell, thus making it useless.

a little detail that many overlooked about senshi when he was introduced, is that he said that he has lived in "this dungeon" for "over ten years" and then laios looks confused and asks whether the dungeon has been open that long, i just wanted to mention that interesting senshi fact that he dropped on episode 1
To be fair, I don't think most people thought much of it at that point. I sure didn't. The amount of callbacks and subtle foreshadowing in this story is so great.
It's great watching people speculate what will happen in the anime since I've read the manga like 5 times over.

theres definitely gonna be at least one more season, the manga isnt that short. theres 97 chapters in the manga and the anime has been doing roughly 2 or 3 chapters per episode. right now were only at chapter 22
as you may know,this series is scheduled for a consecutive 2seasons.(I don't know the plans for afterward)

Hehehehe...this is awesome, you guys are having the exact same thoughts as us manga readers did. You're in for a treat!
Also while the manga is only 97 chapters, they are DENSE especially the later chapters. Just to give you an idea the anime is adapting about ~2 chapters per episode and it has already cut out a fair amount of details. So there's no way it'll be able to cover everything in 24 episodes, it will need a 2nd season.

Oh boy, I'm so excited for you guys to see what the following episodes have in store for you.
For your information (and my personal calculations), Dungeon Meshi would need a 2nd Season with another 24 episodes in order to cover the entire manga and reach the end, so I'm REALLY praying for Dungeon Meshi to get a 2nd Season because there's far too much that REALLY shouldn't be skipped. You guys will love Dungeon Meshi even moreso from this point moving forwards.
EDIT: Speaking of things that shouldn't be skipped, this episode is actually the first time that a significant portion of a chapter has been cut (Namari's part). So I'm hoping they've saved that to spread for next episode instead, since it also goes a bit deeper into the rules for resurrections.
It's not easy to kill a dragon. But it's hard to REACH the dragon, kill it, get what you want then get BACK UP the surface. Try doing ALL OF IT without losing one or two party members.
Without the burden of food, Lalios' party can 100% dive deeper than most other parties. But it's certainly not easy.
You guys are very perceptive on questioning the inner workings on how eating affects how energy/souls transfer around. Can't wait for you guys to find out, and yes, she(author) has thought of that.

It's actually interesting that this is the second time I heard, why the party didn't use a knife to fight the giant frog, I mean that's the most obvious action to make too, maybe the speed of real life frog move their tongue are way to fast, so the mangaka thinks maybe it's not a good idea? Also it's kinda hilarious for Senshi being super protective over his cooking utensils when he used Chilchack's picking tools to prick the mimic's meat.
Also the manga is short, but because it was a monthly manga its actually a lot longer than it looks. It took me longer to read through Dungeon Meshi than things like JJK for example. With the current pace it would cover half of the story with 24 episodes.
One funny rumor was that the author ended it sooner because Baldur's Gate 3 came out and she's a big fan of the games.

I honestly didn't get it this episode, until I read that chapter in the manga, that they didn't have a frog in Chillchuck size, so they had to create his suit out of bits and pieces from the others - and that's why he looks more like a little sausage. 😅

Also the manga doesnt have a lot of chapters but it is by no means short. Each chapter has like 40+ pages. Dungeon Meshi will most likely get this 24 episode season and one more 24 episode season to end it off.

I think the souls are bound until the body is destroyed, not forever. We see gosts for example. And they discuss how you can't resurrect someone if too little of them remains

I haven't watched the discussion portion yet, but if I had to guess, after they defeat the dragon will come the conflict stuff with the elves coming to take the dungeon. The opening sequence shows a boat full of elves, and after the discussion with the island lord and gnome, I believe that has to be it. Also as another commenter reminded us, Senshi said he'd been in the dungeon for over 10 years, despite the dungeon not having been existing for more than a couple years. Add that to the fact about the dwarves constantly mining and tunneling, and rumors about them expanding the dungeon while waiting for the elves to come on the attack, I believe we will dive into the dwarven backstory as well. So both the elven and the dwarven backstory on the war they fought and how it split the country, as well as how the old kingdom plays into it.
As a manga reader, I am SO excited for anime-onlys to find out what happens 😆😆😆

I haven't read the manga... I'm thinking that the Elf Mage created the dungeon to avoid a catastrophe from killing everyone in the kingdom, and that's why that apparently only on that dungeon nobody can truly die.

The manga's 14 volumes. I doubt they could cover the entire series in these 24 episodes. It might be fine if they did another 12 to 13 episode cour though maybe.
ohhh you have no idea of what this story is gonna develop into! my favorite part as a manga reader is to watch new people getting into dungeon meshi. and if my calculations are correct the next two episodes will be amazing

The distinction between humans (elves, dwarves, gnomes, half-foots, tall-men, etc), demi-humans (orcs, kobolds, mermaids, etc), and monsters is SUPER FUCKING UNCLEAR, ACTUALLY. I have no clue how the orcs would be effected by the dungeon's curse.

@@aviongris4233 I've read the entire manga and all supplemental material. We really don't. At best we get a regional theory that isn't even agreed upon by all the characters in the scene.
@@FlubbedPig Actually, because of the dungeon master (AKA the mad sorcerer) we can make a fairly educated guess on who the curse affects and why. I won't go into it because I don't want the anime-only folks to mistakenly go into spoiler territory, but considering the desires of the dungeon master, you can take a few educated shots at why this is.
Sure it's not "official", but I don't think it needs to be either. It's pretty simple when you think about it.
