Hi Joshua Roy. I don't know about other people. But my research in the subject is very extensive as I consult Judaic writings, Rabbinic literature, Jewish oral traditions and archaeological examinations along with history. Although I am willing to change if sufficient proof is provided for the argument of Isaac's age. Otherwise I have solid grounds to posit that Isaac was 12 at that time.

Pastor - question- In genesis 24:67 Issac brought rebecca into her mother tent(shechem@hebron) but why did genesis 24:62 say "for issac dwell in the south near well La hai roi? i checked the map, but cant understand... can explain pastor... i knew there my be an exlaination.... second question- is shechem and hebron same? why did map show to different locations?

அருமையான சந்தேகம். ஆனால் மீண்டும் உயிரோடு ஈசாக்கை எழுப்புவர் என்ற விசுவாசத்தையே இங்கு வேதம் கூறுகிறது. ஆனால் விசுவாசம் இருந்தாலும் பாசமாக வளர்த்த பிள்ளையை கொல்ல எந்த தந்தையாலும் முடியாது. பிதாவும் இயேசுவை பலியாக ஒப்பு கொடுத்த போது அவருக்கு தெரியும் அல்லவா இயேசுவை மீண்டும் உயிரோடு எழுப்புவர் என்று. அது போல இதையும் சிந்தித்து பாருங்கள்.

I don't even pass this theory test, how can I think about taking the practical test?
So Pastor, does this mean Abraham is the only man qualified for his Kingdom?

Isaac’s age during his sacrifice
Many of my viewers are messaging me asking how I say that Isaac must have been around 12 years old when Abraham attempted to sacrifice him. I say so in one of my teachings. Well, nobody knows the exact age of Isaac when that happened and I believe it is irrelevant to the theology/typology present therein. What is the big deal if Isaac was 12 or 36 or anywhere between 5 and 37? Here is a small list of suggestions by great scholars:
1. The world accepted 1st century historian Flavius Josephus (Jewish) says in his Jewish Antiquities 1, 227 [xiii, 2] that Isaac must have been 25 years old.
2. The American scholar, Dr. Herbert Carl Leupold, a world famous Lutheran scholar, says in Leupold, 1:625 that Isaac must have been 18 to 20 years old.
3. The British scholar Adam Clarke, in 1:140 says that Isaac must have been 33 years old.
4. Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown, in p. 29 show that Isaac must have been over 20 years of age.
5. Several Jewish religious traditions have several suggestions based on the age Isaac was weaned as per Genesis 21:8. Jewish writers Jarchi and Ben Melech say Isaac was weaned at 2 years old. Gedaliah says Isaac was weaned at 3 years old. So, they all believe that Isaac must have been around 6 years old during the sacrifice.
6. Father Jerome who authored the Latin Vulgate in 404AD says that according to some Jewish traditions Isaac was 5 years old.
7. The great philosopher Philo thinks Isaac was about 7 years old.
8. Bishop Usher, in his famous Chronology of Biblical Events says that Isaac must have been 12 or 13 years old.
9. Some Jewish Rabbinical traditions such as the Midrash on Genesis Rabbah, posit that Isaac must have been 36 years old.
I have my reasons, based on heavy research of course, to believe that Isaac must have been 12 or 13. But I am not dogmatic. This is trivial and not necessary for a theological discourse. I post this public because hundred of people are querying from me. Hope this helps.
