Volvo Trucks has launched the new Volvo FH featuring a re-imagined cab, innovative safety features and a driver focused working environment. A key aim of the new design is to give the driver a more productive, safe and comfortable life on the road.
Cabs: Low sleeper cab, Sleeper cab, Globetrotter cab, Globetrotter XL and Globetrotter XXL. Exterior and interior trim packages for individual design.
Engines: Diesel engines are available with different emissions standards. Volvo FH is also available with Euro 6, Step D compliant gas-powered LNG engine in selected markets.
Volvo FH with I-Save for Euro 6 is available in selected markets.
Gear changing system: I-Shift / I-Shift Dual Clutch with software packages for different areas of application.
I've been driving heavy trucks in Europe for 10 years. Drove all brands, Iveco, Mercedes, Scania, MAN, DAF... I can honestly say that nothing compares to a Volvo in every single imaginable way. They do everything better than their competitors. Keep up the good work my friends.:)
And yet Mercedes has the highest market share. Almost every company that has Mercedes trucks, gets Mercedes trucks. And Scania/MAN make slightly better trucks than Volvo. But Volvo is still a good truck, there is no denying that.
Disagree, the space inside the DAF is way better than the volvo, the good thing about the FH is the drive and gearbox but you can't beat the looks of the Scania. I drive a Volvo at the moment so I'm not making that up, just my opinion haha
@@paulmulks You're right about that. But I'm not that tall a guy so I'm not bothered by the smaller cabin of the Volvo compared to a DAF. But I will say that apart from the big cabin, DAFs are mediocre at best. Ah and I too drive a Scania (S500) at the moment. I was very impressed by the modern engine and gearbox and I don't have much to complain about in general. But I think when it comes to driving the Volvo is still just a little bit ahead:)
@@edmmitch I'm Not tall either but I found the DAF cabin better for space all round, but the dash and setup is very cheap I agree, I love the drive of the Volvo and not yet had the opportunity to drive a scania yet, but looking at how drivers pimp them I've always been a fan of the look 👌🏻
@@paulmulks the old R series Scanias didn't drive as good as Volvos but the latest S series caught up big time. The materials, quality, comfort, infotainment is all excellent and as I said the new 6 zylinder engines are amazing. Hope you soon get the chance to drive one of those:)
this truck is so advanced, holy. Much more advanced than the American trucks or even their direct American counterparts. Jeeeez.

It also allows customers to choose different software packages for the gearbox based on what the truck will be doing (long haul, construction, local deliveries etc). The gearbox also records where you are driving and say you come to a hill it records the gradient and length etc along with the gear changes required and uploads that data to volvos servers so that all trucks driving near that stretch of road have that same data.

This is all thanks to the extremely heavy competition between Volvo and Scania in Sweden. There are almost no other trucks up here with an exception of Mercedes.
But this is what happens when we have 2 extremely big manufacturers with very picky customers and we're very lucky to have them.

I am not a truck driver, but a great Volvo Truck fan since I was a little boy. Instead of going for a Ferrari or Porsche, I would spend my money for a F16 Globetrotter XXL, if I would have to spend money on anything to drive. Design, technique... just perfect

Euro trucks are so more advanced than here in the US. Still don't use steerable trailers like Faymondville or Nooteboom.

Yea it seems like trucks in USA are stuck in the late 70's with design and tech, whereas european trucks are more advanced than cars.

meanwhile my brand new manual daf lf no aircon i drive at work had problems at merely 220 km driven, when it refused to start for about 10 minutes, and does it every now and again, and now power steering doesnt work. i wish i could drive something like this

Good improvement on the selection of gear from forward to reverse.
I drive a Kenworth, unless I hold my foot firmly on the brake while selecting gears it just beeps at me. It beeps at me for a lot of things to be honest.

But did they manage to make a steering wheel that doesn't peel after 200000miles or 400000km? Mine lost all of the texture at 210000miles in the US. Now fighting with DEF isues at 450000miles

Underspeed creates Alot of frustration for cars behind, so many overtakes, but i save fuel with it, going uphill / slope before downhill, and truck (i-save) coast, strange, but useful
