I truly enjoyed this type of recap video! It gave me, as a non-native speaker a lot more visual keys to fully understand your points.
I do really think you need another category next time between Good and Forgettable, like you mentioned as well :D Something like: "OK".
I think you are the first one to prais Arslan so highly and that gives me hope and makes me happy at the same time. I have not checked it out yet myself but a) I like the art and b) the genre is usually exactly what I enjoy reading. I will check out Vol.1!

Yeah I used Forgettable because anything that’s just okay is pretty forgettable in my eyes, but maybe I needed another category just for stuff that’s difficult to rank lol.
I think if you already enjoy the genre there’s really no reason you wouldn’t enjoy Arslan. The action is really easy to follow, it has great characters, and the main conflict is a bit more complex than it may seem. Hopefully Kodansha reprints it so the middle volumes are easier to find for those who need them.

I guess I need to look out for the Panorama of Hell repress because the other three in that tier are all in my top 10. I've got the full sets of Soloist and Laughing Under the Clouds sitting on my TBR rn too. Picked up the first six volumes of Arslan recently only to discover a lot of the middle volumes are OOS everywhere.
Panorama of Hell is pretty different from the other series on that tier but I love psychological horror and it does it very well in my opinion.
I’ve been collecting the volumes of Arslan as they were released for the last 6 years without reading them, which is technically a bad habit that I wouldn’t recommend to most people, but it’s saved me a lot of time trying to hunt down OOS volumes from various series. It worked out for me this time since I ended up enjoying the series so much. I assume because it has Hiromu Arakawa’s name on it that it will be reprinted at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later so more people can read the series.
Great video! I really enjoy making tier list videos even though they tend to get downvoted more than any other of my videos. I agree with you on Nude Model a very lackluster short story collection with nothing that really stood out. I was expecting more from a highly regarded mangaka. I really need to read Alice in Borderland now that it's all released. Looks intriguing.
Yeah I noticed that they get about half as many likes as most of my other videos, though the view count is about the same. I have fun making them though so it doesn’t really matter to me. I’m lazy so I’d much rather do this than just sit in front of the camera and talk about 20+ series.
Alice in Borderland can get a little heavy-handed with the philosophical message in some parts but I do think it’s a very entertaining story all the way through.
One shots/short story collections are so hard to rank, I think. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed Nude Model, I loved the last story. I think i need to check out Her Frankenstein!
There aren’t too many short story collections that stick with me unfortunately.
