  • This tutorial will show you how to transfer a SIM card from one phone to another. This will not transfer the contacts on your Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel Android, or Apple iPhone. Additionally, it will not transfer apps or settings. The SIM card only transfers your service to another phone.

    Thanks man! Getting the Pixel 5a with 5g on Friday can't wait to swap the SIM card. I have a very glitchy LG v40 ThinQ the store we went to 2 years ago to get an upgrade told us the camera on them were amazing but my Pixel 2 XL took way better pictures than this garbage phone I put up with for the last 2 years. Bought my new pixel 5a out right for $450 and now if anything happens I'll just get another one. I swear phone insurance is stupid. Just buy a reasonable mid range phone with good all around performance and take care of it till it's too dang slow. Even cheap smart phones are amazing these days. Anyway thanks again for the quick tip

    • @Myandybuck
      @Myandybuck  Před 2 lety +1

      Congratulations and thanks for the comments. If you are moving from a 4g to a 5g phone, you will need to get a sim card that supports 5g in order to use the 5g capabilities. Be sure to go to a corporate store for your carrier and they should give you one for free. Privately owned stores will charge you for the card.

    • @mplsfarmer
      @mplsfarmer Před rokem +1

      He didn’t put two SIM cards together. The SIM card tray on the old phone just holds the card around the edge with a rectangular hole in the middle. But the tray on the new phone has a grey backing piece in the middle that may give more support to the SIM card. The new phone doesn’t come with a SIM card. To verify this for yourself pause the video at time stamp 2:43 where you can clearly see the SIM card tray that he removed from the new phone, then take a screenshot and zoom in on the SIM tray.

    Hey I got a question, I just got a new phone for Christmas and when I was going to switch my old SIM card to my new phone, there was already a SIM card in my new phone. I know that it switches over the provider, but I switched in and out both SIM cards but nothing changed at all, regarding the provider. So is it useful to switch over my old SIM card to my new phone despite the provider doesn’t really change? Thanks!

    • @Myandybuck
      @Myandybuck  Před 3 lety +1

      Good question! When you order the phone from your provider, they oftentimes include a sim card so that you can just call in and activate the phone. In this case, you can switch the card or activate the phone with the card they sent. I'd just activate the phone with the card they sent.

    • @Myandybuck
      @Myandybuck  Před 3 lety +4

      Great question! There could be a couple of reasons. You may be going from a 3g or a 4g phone to a 5g phone. The new 5G does take a different SIM card. Another reason may be because you are going from a CMDA phone to a GSM phone. This happens when moving from Verizon or AT&T to another carrier. I hope that helps to answer your question?

I tried connecting them together with a USBC to USBC and file transfer menu pops up but when I click either option, file transfer or photo transfer, nothing happens. The old one is cracked to hell but works fine. Walmart said they don't set them up for people anymore and when I called the number it went to a tech company that said they are not related to Walmart family mobile and gave me the main Walmart number. When I called they talked a bit, put me on hold for about 25 minutes then hung up on me. So yea I apologize for sounding rude. My bad. Cheers!
