Tim, it takes someone who is a master, like you to really explain, explore and show the value of a tool like this. Thank you.
LOL!
Alpaca rouge is the Way Huge Red Llama. Of course you'd wind up picking a Tripps pedal model!
that is a lovely piece of gear, beautifully demonstrated. nice job Tim.
Great enhancement for a player like you. This also has the potential to make amateurs want to explore and enjoy their guitar and music. Thanks for explaining just a little bit of the features and range of this beautiful tool for expanding my journey. I need more practice right now. I also have a combo amplifier in my sights for a loop out plug. I didn’t know I wanted one.
Ok, the flux alone makes this superior to the M5, and thanks for featuring that. Love your playing.
Great video Tim. Thanks much
Wow - all those free lessons - Thanks Tim!
Excellent As Always Sir !!! Great Overview of the features!!!!
I know I'm often accused of being out of touch, but this is new to me. It hasn't cropped up in my usual CZcams recommendations, so thank you for showcasing it. Any demo that starts with a bit of Hendrix's "Hey Baby" instantly gets my attention! 😉Wonderful playing as always! 😎
Great video Tim. I'm not one for having loads of pedals so having one with so many options would be very cool.
Very interesting video and insight into these effects.
I wonder have you ever experimented with the Kaoss pad at all?
Thank you.
Great demo... Thank you
Awesome playing and the effects are outstanding! Great idea running the looper through the pedal while auditioning sounds. I have a Helix floor and will try it out. Easier to focus on the sound when you’re not playing at the same time. Appreciate you Tim! Thanks for another great video!
Yeah, using a Looper a great way to quickly audition sounds. This is particularly useful with gear that has hundreds of sounds available.
As always,great video,very informative.
Cool pedal
Love this guy. Refreshing to get honest opinions
This really lives in the same space as an Eventide H9 and Zoom Multistomp. It actually splits the difference in cost between the two.
Hey Tim, you're amazing. While this HxOne sounds great, your examples inspire me some fresh quick use for my H9 and HotKnob or tap. Thanks for the free lessons, I'll watch them all over these days 🙏✨
Man, I love Line6 products. Ever since I purchased the Pod X3 Pro. As soon as I move from this appartment I intend to incorporate it in the setup I've got in my mind.
Thanks again Tim for another amazing video and incredible insight!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks forb sharing your passion and skill, much appreciated. I havent seen you play acoustic. Would you consider doing a short primer with tips for moving from acoustic to electric guitar? What about your approach is different, same etc. Thanks
I just recently took my old M5 off my main board then they released this! Was thinking of replacing it with an HX Stomp but honestly this looks like it'll cover most of what I've been missing and more
Great playing as always! 300 bucks for all those effects, midi in and out, expression jack for expression and tap tempo. Stereo in and out unless you want to use the effects loop. If a guitar player is using a loop switcher with midi this is a no brainer ( if you like line 6 effects) .
Best HX One video ❤ I’m good with my HX Stomp for now but if that one breaks I’d get one of these without hesitation 🤘🏽
Tim, Your tones bring Me to tears! Thank You for all You Do! And Wow that paranoid android
The HX One is a must have for recording or if someone needs a swiss army knife pedal for their pedal board.
I bought one of these new and on sale for $250. And it's a great pedal I also have the M5 which I like very much.
Thanks for this I think it’s really great because so much of these reviews have a subtext. I don’t know if you read these reviews but it would be interesting. If you did a video on Weather in app is still needed or a lot of things like the line 6 helix and other floor pedals with emulators, have replace them, even for the casual musician.
Nice deep cut Jimi track! Love that tune. Pedal sounds great! Great video once again!
"Hey Baby!" fantastic song.
Me at my desk diving into my Eventide H90: there's nothing wrong with spending your money on that pedal. Great effects are found by really digging into 1 algorithm at a time.
Love my H90! Only 2 effects there, but so rich you don’t need much more!
Retro reel is great.. Closest thing to a Strymon Deco. It’s on every ‘board’ I have on HX effects..
Love Tims Channel.👍
Nice to hear you playing some Incubus. Mike really is a sonic architect, making use of effects to create a really unique sound. I still have my POD X3. That thing still sounds great.
Facts.
I have the m5 on my board... I love using my podxt... and yep I have the x3 cuz it does vocals well!
Gotta hand it to them, some very versatile flavours there.
Recently, I've been going back to basics. Palmer Pocket Amp Mkii at the end of the chain! Set to Brit/ Clean/ Off Axis. Vox AC30/ Marshall style with plenty of mids. Wind the gain up for when your guitar is at full volume. It cleans up nicely too. Analogue! You can feel the dynamics like a real amp! Before that, go all of my favourite pedals. Just like playing through an old amp, but going direct instead. Not all the settings are great, but the drive is also really organic! Vintage is a little disappointing, but Brit onwards is great! No need to ditch your old pedals. Keep it simple. For recording though, I imagine lots more processing would be required, but the dynamics, feel and twang are there!
great video i might get one thank you
What also makes this piece of gear sound good besides the fact that Tim is a guitar virtuoso is the killer amp, the killer preamps the killer cabinent mice'd and the killer interface.
Dammit. I DON'T need this. Stop making it sound so good!!
Looks like I need another pedal. Great video.
Tim, you could make an empty coffee can good.😂
Superb and outstanding 👌🏻
And much more to hear some Deep Purple tones ❤
@tim pierce Alpaca Rouge is the Red Llama overdrive from Way Huge
My first BRAND NEW from the store bass amp in was in 2003, it was a Line 6 40 watt Bass amp from the no longer there 😪 BASS NORTHWEST, in Pioneer Square, (Richard's for lunch 🤤) downtown Seattle... Anyhow, Line 6 has always done SO well. The NEW Catalyst 60 (guitar) is Worth every cent. My own opinion...
I hear you and Pete were at the Big Wreck show last night. I saw them in Oakland Tuesday, and I’m seeing them in Phoenix tonight.
Ian would be a good candidate for a video.
Do you input monitor your guitar through your DAW? What sample rate and buffer size do you use? Do you feel any issues with latency?
Great demo vid-what is that black lespaul shaped guitar?
Ive had an M5 for years. It's my script phaser and other modulation I need occasionally. Top video Tim
Thanks 👍
Love my M5
Great ONE Tim!!!! ❤️🎵🎶🎸🎵🎶👍🎵🎶🙏❤️😎
Great musical examples Tim, I loved that Radiohead flux demo 😍🤟🏽
My favourite lead tone is with a cocked Vox Wah Wah and a Range Master treble boost, through an AC30 try as I might I cant get this exact tone on any of my multi FX units, I can get close but its just not the same!
I found this pedal very interesting, some very usable tones!
Just get cry baby and a Dunlop Hendrix fuzz, that is about as complicsted any Guitarist can handle. Too many cooks spoil the broth.
Hey Tim I see a lot of nice studio speakers there. What are you using as your monitor set up and do you use a centre monitor please??
i saw a tone master blonde in your studio. I'd love to hear what you think about it. I've been gigging with it for over a year and at 24 lbs. my back and i love it.
Hi Tim. stupid question: did you ever look into combining this line 6 HX one to you Kemper external effect loop? does it make sense? I'm just thinking to do that as I find some HX sounds overvelming?
📈 off the charts .. uncharted territory 🔭🤠 big ups dude ❤️
I don't need another pedal but after watching this..... I WANT ONE' - so useful and the way it blends is perfect creative stimulation :-)
That loop-demo at the end was absolutely ACES!
I just can't get behind most of the new interfaces because I am a fossil, but this was super cool!
I like pedals. But I want my mind changed and this is a great set of reasons.
Glad you liked it!
Man, I’m both computer engineer and guitar player and I hate pedals/systems with menus. For me the M9 has the perfect user interface because you select the effects, tweak it with the knobs on the fly an the changes are recorded immediately. When you are creating you need the tools to work for you instead of you working the tools…
If Tim puts his stamp of approval. Its an awesome pedal.
Alpaca Rouge is a Red Llama model
Wow thanks so much
You are very welcome, sir!@@timpierceguitar
@@timpierceguitarif you like that sound, check out the electroharmonix Hot Tubes, both vintage tube pedal and a modern one, you might really enjo it
Hi some people play guitar, some people fly planes, some people play guitar really well, some fly jets then there are some who go far beyond the horizon , Tim does all that every where you have ever been hes been playing on record on a radio station some where I CANT SAY ANY MORE ,
Awesome!
Tim Pierce said previously gear are all tools for guitarists. Wise words
Cool geeve away Sir.
Im sorry to ask but can you give me some examples of where ring mod is used in a track?? Its the one effect I’ve never found musical?.
I will tell our other guitar player what to use on his new Helix LT for the Black Hole Sun lick. Thanks!
I looked it up on the line 6 website, and the image they use for "alpaca rouge" looks just like a Way Huge Red Llama. So I'd venture that's what that is modeled after.
Hi Tim im 55 and started playing about 6 months , any tips to faster picking , if you dont mind.
Dig Incubus! Nice! I often test out pedals with that very riff, so good for that
I’m buying one of these to pair with my ToneX. I don’t use a lot of effects at once so this is perfect and saves me having to buy lots of different effects that I might not use that often.
I heard this pedal on you tube with Phillip McNight. The first selection was KINKY BOOST. sounded the best to me. Made me want to buy it.
Exactly, Hunting for menus, pecking for sound. Especially on GIX four zoom pedal, turn your sound into mud. ‘Pecking’!
Its the swiss army knife in pedal form. Would you use more than one blade at a time?
People spend over $300 for one pedal that does one thing all the time. Why should this one that has more functionality be such an issue?
Because it’s the same cost as a pod
@@humanactivated1017does it essentially do what the helix and all the other older line6 products will do pretty much? Yea that's a little high priced for this
@@humanactivated1017 and the same price as dl4, or a catalyst amp, and so on. Each one is just a tool that you either like, or you don’t.
Jack of all trades, master of none. Zero mojo.
People are more and more becoming Karen's. They are way too free to be bitchin about nothing.
OMG you did the 'unchained' thing! you have made my day
Hi Tim.
If you haven't made a video about the correct order of the pedals in the signal chain many of us would love it if you make one. Not a a two hours explanation of every pedal there is to find. Keep it simple. Just the ordinary stuff that most of us have. Volume, wha, OD, modulation (in general), delay, reverb...
There are a million videos on this topic, but none of them give the same answer, so it would be very interesting to hear how a pro like you does it.
If you have made a video about this already I would appreciate a link to it.
Love your channel!!
What song are you playing at 1:34?
Tom Bukovac also played it in his rig rundown! It´s beautiful🥰
My only pedal is my rc3. My other stuff are apps that. I pass through my irig. And I have a blast. I’m a couch musician. I seem the need to buy any but I am very interested about gear available. If I win the lottery I can tell right away that id love a set up like Tim. With as many guitars 😂 Rock on people and have fun.
? Your picking hand seems to be with some force and very deliberate, how much pressure on your fretting hand toward the frets. I'm asking because I'm trying to learn to use less pressure (squeezing out of tune) with my fretting hand but when I try, my picking hand does not have the same tone. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Haunting 80s reminiscent tone. ….I dig it
I really dig this but wish it had the ability to have at least three effects at a time with added buttons. Like a smaller version of the HX Effects.
He Tim, any thoughts about the Wampler Ego76 ?
I want one!
Ah, Dig! That takes me back, great album.
The alpacha rugue is the red llama OD
Black Hole Sun .. nailed it!
I think a lot of online reviewers were just mad they didn't get one to review.
If nobody else already told you, I would say the Alpaca Rouge was a clone of the Red Llama Overdrive pedal from Way Huge. :)
Hey Tim! I had a few angry commenters on my video about this 😂. I mentioned in my video i dont understand why, for the size and price, someone wouldn't get an HX Stomp second hand. Its not much bigger and has a ton more features. But the simplicity is certainly appealing to many not comfortable with the whole digital world! Either way, I love it, and your channel. Thanks !
Because now you can flux 😂 also just pedalboard real estate could be a big reason. One spot on a board to Swiss Army knife into different pedals if need be I guess.
Plus an HX Stomp takes up two plugs on your power supply. So if all you want is to use the Stomp for modulation or reverb/delay on a bigger pedal board, the HX One might make more sense.
Has Tim already done a video about actually walking into a studio with his gear and getting set-up to record? I would love to see what that's like. I'd love to know what he brings to the session and watch him get ready to record.
I still have and use my Line 6 Pod 2nd iteration with it's head and cab modeling and half dozen effects, it's got to be 15 years old at least. How accurate it is to replicating the Mesa boogie and other more boutique amp combos I don't know, they are out of my price range, hence the pod....
Does it do the exact same thing as the helix stuff? Maybe because it's only one effect at a time ?
We're spoiled. Really spoiled. Reminds me of Harry Potter's cousin, Dudley. I've been hoping for this pedal for over a decade and still love the M series concept. I think we will see expanded capabilities and an expanded line in the future.
I hope you enjoy your own music as much as everyone else does. It’s seems you’re always in such a great mood.
thank you so much for the comment:-)
Tim, I have a bit of an odd compliment for you: your wedding ring is super cool! It's more ornate than a simple wedding band, but it's also not flashy or gaudy. The design looks awesome, but it doesn't seem to inhibit your guitar playing in any way.
(But yeah, also you're a fantastic guitar player and your youtube channel is a great educational resource for all of us mere mortals. Carry on.)
hey thanks ! I got it at the outdoor arts and crafts place right by Laguna Beach.... if you're ever in the area :)
I know this thing is digital but you used it in such analogue way. Definitely on my list of pedal effects I need to immediately buy/GAS to deal with list :-)
Red Llama = Alpaca Rouge. Great vid!
Also, I'm guessing the "Alpaca Rouge" is based on a Way Huge Red Llama.
Check out the Kenny Aronoff interview with John Rzeznik , they talk about what a great musician and guitar player you are and discussed the work on Iris and the Goo Goo Dolls. They both really spoke highly of you and Kenny Aronoff stated he would like to have you come do a live interview. That would be awesome to see you with Kenny Aronoff.
Pretty sure the Alpaca Rouge is a Red Llama
Alpaca rouge, sounds like is a take on the Way Huge Red Llama drive pedal?
I used an M9 for years. I sold it a few years ago when I decided to go all analog again. I seriously regret it. 😔
going to buy one for my son who is 16 and learning to play guitar...he's already getting better than his old man 🙂
Also going to buy your course for him
