Beyonce is a culmination of extremely strategic choreo/singing combined with actual stamina and vocals. Her choreo is ALWAYS LYRICAL rather than rhythmic which means the choreo almost never interrupts her individual notes or breaths. I don't think people notice it but Beyonce structures her songs to be very lyrically rhythmic which is why she's always on beat and on key and explains all the sing-wrapping in her early years and current.
wowww you’re so smart 😭
I was just thinking about that. Every move that Beyoncé does in her coreos is almost always in-sync with the lyrics. It's probably the smartest way to do it, to be honest. Chop it all good, take as many breaths as possible in between syllables or words, and carry on killing the dance number.
@@edwinjlr1345 Precisely, it's funny because I learned it from a stripper that you can save effort and have much more grace & sex appeal moving to the lyrics.
On top of that, with that technique you tend to have pauses in the lyrical breaks that act as a rapid recovery stage.
I had to very this because I was in disbelief but i tried jumping to all her lyrics on the lyric, and I was surprised that I never lost breath or vocal quality lol.
YES. You cracked her secret. The key isn't to sing and dance at the exact same time (Bey rarely does this) but to have well placed dance moves and vocals in the performance that don't sacrifice the integrity of either. Many of the younger girls still haven't learned how to optimize their performances. But then again, the kind of choreo Beyoncé does (as you mentioned) with the kind of vocal and musical structures she does is a very Beyoncé thing. She's a singular artist/performer for a reason.
There are still times she strategically lip syncs to a prerecording, though. But it's usually not for the entire performance, just for difficult sections involving high notes & runs.
pink literally does backflips hundreds of feet in the air and sings live... why is nobody talking about her. she deserves an entire video for the vocalist she is
yesss 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
Pink is one of the greats without a doubt
Because those people prefer to believe that every artist lip syncs when in reality most artists don’t lip sync, at least not regularly.
YESS
Thank you 🙌. She deserves more praise and appreciation for the talent and performer that she is. It seems people don't mention her the way they do with other names. At the same time her accomplishments speak for herself: she's the most consistent successful female artist out of all her peers in music and she placed her latest tour as the 2nd most successful tour for a female artist in history confirming her status as the best female performer nowadays. No one else can do what she does on stage.
I don’t think people realize how hard crazy in love is to sing
Sooooooooo hard! The tempo, the timing, the breath support to get through the verses, it's such a wordy song!! And then the belted adlibs which are way up in the 5th octave...I have no idea how she does that.
They never will which is crazy to sing that fast and belt that high
Freakum dress deja vu green light and crazy in love are just straight vocal destroyers to keep the fast tempo while belting high and moving beyonce is underrated
@@whip1720 End Of Time, Single Ladies too.
Because Queen B makes everything looks like: „it’s pretty easy“
I think lia being a "weak" dancer gives her more room to be able to sing live better, i respect itzy for singing live despite not being known for their singing abilities
Lmaaoooo Chloe and Normani's stans really tried to drag me when I said they were lip syncing at the VMA's when it couldn't have been more obvious. It's really not that deep, the performances were energetic but I'm glad you included that clip cause the girls really are delusional out here...
I don’t think Chloe’s entire performance was lipped though. Some parts for sure but the entire thing? Idk
Really don’t think Chloe was fully lipsyncing though… she’s under Beyoncé’s label and I’m sure she’s been mentored by Beyoncé herself on breath control techniques.
@@robbie4794 Chloe herself said Beyoncé isn’t really involved. Beyoncé is prolly just at board meetings and sometimes one on one
The majority of Chloe’s performance was live. There were definitely moments that were prerecorded tho
@@selenagomezvc914 people really act like Beyoncé teach her how to live like she owns the label doesn’t mean she’s with her 24/7
The sad thing is the girls in aespa are hella talented and good vocalists, I can't understand why SM doesn't let them sing live😭
Yesss when they are allowed to sing live 😍😍
They sang during encores, but they had some backtrack.
They are becoming a joke and I feel so sorry for them, cause I know it's not their fault.
The curious case of SM, the agency that have the best vocalists and don't let them sing live
It’s such a shame tbh. Maybe SM just wants to follow the trend of artists not singing live anymore. I’ve been listening to kpop since 2011 and now it’s even more focused on dancing and visuals rather than vocals. Even Taeyeon who’s a great singer focused her last comebacks on visuals and dancing rather than singing live
Beyoncé seems to be a human that mastered all the breathing techniques.
Beyoncé trains on a treadmill wearing her performance heels and vocalizing in order to be able to do what she does 💖💖
She puts in worrrrk

She did and because if occasional lip syncing some folks assumed her talent to do both was probably due to lip syncing.

Btw who is Yorrichi??.
Don't be afraid to state your honest opinion on Beyonce, every artist should receive the same treatment when critiquing their skills. Yes Beyonce lip syncs sometimes that's normal but she's one of the best to dance and sing at the same time!
I don't think that's what he meant, I took it as she doesn't dance while singing. She dances and then sings and then dances etc. She never does it at the same time. She rarely lip syncs because she's strategic.
@@Jas-ly5fz what??? Beyonce dance while singing at the same time have you ever watched a Beyonce performance 🤣
@@jcperez8991 Eh, she does move around a lot! But like dance and sing along with high notes is something I usually don’t see. She can sing and dance along like at the 2016 super bowl without any intensity high notes. but like do high notes and do choreography. I don’t see that many of hers and even other singers tried it and failed because it’s almost physically impossible. She discovered her ways and as she should! There was probably one I seen one I think it was at the BET 2006 Deja Vu performance. Although it wasn’t a choreography, she was giving us Tina Turner dancing 🤌🏼. We are not super humans so it’s nórmal to catch our breath. But if I’m mistaken correct me please.

@@erikasilviamastermindinbio8408 gurl then you haven't checked at Beyonce that much 💀 I'm a fan so I know her more than you
btw, a thing i noticed in 7 years of kpop, most artists lipsync tv stages, but sing their concerts fully live. even some of the greatests vocallists do this, ailee and iu being the most notable.
As someone who had the chance to watch Ailee live, 100% agree. KPop concerts are really worth it not only for production value but how much the artists put in their performance.
Hmm I've went to a superm concert and saw dreamcatcher & up10tion live at a festival.. I was so disappointed because almosz everything was lipped and they didn't even try to hide it lol. Could've just watched a music video instead tbh :/
@@hannahs5626 thats true tho, i saw mamamoo in 2018 and was so confused why they were lipsyncing because i knew damn well they could sing live, and according to some people they weren't "allowed" to because of the microphones/the venue they were performing..? it was a mess; idk if its a 4th/late 3rd gen thing being obssessed with perfection/stage presence or if it really depends on where they are performing, bet on the first option cuz when i saw stellar in 2016, only adlibs weren't sang live, and vocals wasn't even the main point of it, but since 2018~19 even when the vocals are the selling point they still focus on stage presence and the dancing more.
@@sakaom oh never would've thought mamamoo would lipsync! But yes lately it has been so normal, and the focus now is so much on the dance. Where I think it kind of takes away the "art" and feeling you have when you go to a concert because you don't hear any live instruments and emotion from the singer :(
As I went so many kpop concerts since Y2004, Bigbang, Shinee, GOT7 and TVXQ did live better than studio. GG was 2NE1, Mamamoo and ITZY was good. Some other kpop groups concert were ok, good and disappointed.
Conclusion: THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IN NOTHING WITHOUT WOMAN
PERIODT!
That part!
I’ve been a Kpop fan since 2013 and I miss the live days so much. Thank god for Itzy, BP and RV. I just wanna hear Aespa sing live because they’re so capable of it! With Aespa it seems like they use the actual track instead of pre-recorded like a lot of artists do so it’s super obvious
to be honest, even aespa doesn't want to lipsync anymore, they look straight up bored in stages. i understand tho, they are singers, that is literally their job, they probably feel like shit too cuz sm doesn't believe they can put on a good performance, it just makes all that training feel like wasted time
Bp lip sync too lol
@@moonlightbae2812 they do but not on every single stage they have. We have never heard aespa's live singing at all, unlike bp
@@moonlightbae2812 i mean every kpop group has lip synced at least once in their careers i think. I think it’s fine considering that most of the time they are doing hard choreo. Plus just because a group lip syncs doesn’t mean they are untalented.
Bp 😂😂 please sm stans always lipsynce.
Respectfully when people talk about Ariana singing live with choreography they refer to VMAs side to side however now she’s gotten even more impressive with her breath control with dancing for example Grammys 2020 performance (but during thank u, next she was about to cry so she got choked up) and 7 rings and Be Alright bbma 2019 performance and all throughout the sweetener world tour
Facts like she has way better performances and the fact he chose that clip was dirty as hell. He coulda chose Problem from HMT or BMB on HMT or Greedy from DWT or Focus live AMA’s but no Side To Side makes the cut 🙄🙄
If you’re talking about her Grammy performance for Rain on Me that was definitely lipped.
@@SR-zv5ue nope, for one they said GRAMMYs not VMAs but neither was lipped regardless
I agree, I think people undermine Ariana’s breath control to look for minimal things to critique her. Her breath control really isn’t anywhere near bad nowadays and people chose to bring up performances from 2014/2015 to say “bad breath control” when she’s improved a ton
@@OpinionatedZoomer69 Yes sorry.
*The most impressive at this are:*
• P!nk (she deserves more renown as a vocalist & a performer; out of those who were mentioned in this video, she's probably the best at this.)
• Beyonce
• Lady Gaga
• Christina Aguilera (She wasn't in this video and not really recognized as a performer, but in the few performances I've seen of her singing and dancing, she does it well).
&
• Red Velvet (I didn't know about them but they appear to be great at singing and dancing at the same time).
Blackpink sounded good in that performance!
*P.S.* I admire your honesty 🥰👏
you forgot Ariana...she didnt sound the best in this, however she was literally working out:)
she often has intense choreo but still manages to vocally slay and sing better than most of her peers lmao
Tina Turner says hi
@@bratzscene3131 she doesn't have intense choreo. Yes there are few performances where she rides a cycle or something. Most of the time she just moves. Intense choreo is what Beyonce or tina turner or pink does.
Christina was good at dancing and singing when she first started, but then I feel like it didn't go well for her anymore, I guess it was because of her weight gain, but I really don't know why.
@@takemyhand1988 oh yes she does! Choreo with lots of movement, running on stage and being upside down hehe
I didn't say she was better than Beyonce in this, all I said is that she should be counted in:)
LOVE the main vocalist appreciation in Red velvet and itzy! Wendy and lia never disappoint with their vocals😩
you should've included HYOLYN! not only she's an amazing vocalist but she's a phenomenal dancer too! she literally sings while dancing aggresively in heels!
Hyolyn is so good
I love her 🥰🥰
exactly what I was thinking. When I think of someone who slays singing while dancing, she's #1 to me
I honestly think Beyoncé’s approach is really balanced because no one expects the whole performance to be done live unless it’s a ballad. Lip-syncing and backtrack can make or break a great performance. It’s when it is overused or poorly executed that it comes off as cheap and fake. Bey combines intense choreo with live sections of vocals and shows that she can do both back to back which is why she will always be my #1
Just what I was thinking. She lets every aspect of her show have its moment…
The dance, the seduction, the live singing with smooth transitions nothing is competing with each other! Ahh i wanna go se Bey now lol 😆
itzy are one of the best artists who sing live and i'm here for it.. real queens of performance
Remember in an interview Beyoncé said that as kids her first girl group would all go jogging and sing while jogging to practice breath control. Beyoncé has always been serious about performing her craft the best she possibly can.
When itzy said that they took pride for singing live while doing intense choreography, Im proud of them. However if they have busy sched and constantly sing and dance with the same intensity, im worried that they may damage their voice so having a backtrack is not a bad thing.
That's a stupid excuse
This is their job
JENNIE YELLING TO BE HEARD OVER THAT BACKTRACK GIRL GO
And as a Beyhive, I always know when it is live, lipped, backtracked etc. She is very strategic with all of her performances and really thinks about it as a whole. Thankyou.
Even I, who's not a fan of her music per se (I love some of them), have immense respect for Beyonce as a performer, singer, and dancer.
Same, not a fan but she’s incredible
this video made me realize how much better western precordings are at making it sound live 💀 they give breath and so many adlibs but kpop precordings are almost always obvious
For kpop fans, Music Bank is the best stage to see their idols singing live
This
I'm sorry you feel coerced to some extent to coment about Beyonce's vocal abilities because of some members of the beyhive. As a Beyonce fan I would've watching you really geting into Beyonce's artistry when singing through a very coreography-demanding performance. I agree, she may not be really singing AND moving around at the same time (that running section in the crazy in love performance in rock in rio though or literally any b'day era performance). What is more impressive about her is how remarkably fast she recovers after a killing coreo. It's like she gets the smallest breath of air and she's back to resting state, normal heart and ventilation rate,
Lady Gaga Deserves Her Flowers For Always Singing Live Especially When Dancing
right, she is the only artist i never see lipsync or use a pre-recorded track, she sang live her whole career
@@nicholasbert4475 Honestly the 2 or 3 "Lady Gaga caught lip syncing" videos I saw in her 14 years of career were all BS...
Always about folks acting as if her usual backing vocals were supposed to be some pre-recorded track that wasn't loud enough. Always using the same rare moments when she was vomiting/falling thefefore momentarily not singing live on top of the backing track as usual...
@@flazeda8743 right, every artist has backing vocals/singers on stage because songs are made THAT WAY, Gaga always sings over them, never lipsynced them, it makes no sense
@@nicholasbert4475 Indeed, you can't reproduce lawyers of your own vocals live lol you only get one voice of yours to use at once.
but she can sing anyways so
The most impressive to me is P!nk. I think she never lipsyncs. Doing all those backflips, gymnast moves, acrobats, and all those crazy aerial gimmicks, she's so underappreciated as compared to like BEyonce and Gaga.
For singing and dancing with Beyoncé her If I had a boy performance is a good one at the VMas even though it’s running 😂 I think bey can sing in all areas of her voice really big head movements fast head movement running jumping dancing
Period
I still don't know who thought it was a good idea for Ariana riding a bike during "Side to side", massive respect for her that she kept it, I would die by the first pre-chorus, but can we talk about P!nk, Gaga and Beyoncé? I am SHOOK, especially P!nk really is unstopable, that was outstanding!
I love RV so much. Ohmygahd. It's hard enough alone to sing live but to sing live in a group and still slay as a whole? Truly ... chef's kiss!
Pink is amazingly PERFECT while singing and doing all those jumps and flips, and...... OMG
As someone who loves female performers, I would say my personal Top 5 of most impressive examples of acts that have mastered the art of singing while doing intense dancing are (in no particular order);
P!nk
Beyoncé
Lady Gaga
Shakira
ITZY
What a great reminder that ITZY are queens 🥰 I love them so much
Singing while dancing
Beyonce : "ListeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN LiIiIiIsTeEeEEEN!"
beyonce's performance though- stellar. it always is with queen bey!
Beyoncé mrs.carter show singing crazy in love that mic was a 100 percent on while doing full choreography. She at one ran across the stage belting lol
Jisoo's "ohhhh" is the most precious thing.
Thank you so much for this video, people always be putting down kpop artists for lip syncing as if their fave western artists never do it. People really don't understand how difficult it is to sing and dance at the same time, especially when the choreography isn't made with live singing in mind (i.e. most kpop choreos). Not to mention in kpop artists are often made to perform early in the morning on very little sleep for weeks at a time sometimes, so their voices are not going to be in the best condition. A singer needs to take care of their voice like an athlete would take of their body.
the way most western artist lip sync during performances too
Before I was so in love with Mamamoo I was OBSESSED with Pink and Beyoncé! They are amazing singers 🤩
When P!nk does all THAT, any argument to dance and sing at the same time using Lipsync becomes an EXCUSE.
Billboard named her The Greatest ShowWoman for a reason. 💫
Beyonce studied Tina Turner and MJ. They were the two singers/entertainers they would perform live with high energy. I think Pink stamina is amazing.
Finnaly a comment that mentions MJ
Honestly just love your videos 👍🏼
The difference is that Beyoncé is a vocalist and a performer like MJ while Jlo is more only a performer like Normani, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Ciara and Britney Spears.

Beyoncé at Homecoming, particularly during Get Me Bodied? Beyoncé at the 2016 VMA’s during Don’t Hurt Yourself? Beyoncé at the Wynn singing Deja Vu? Beyoncé performing Freakum Dress at the Beyonce Experience tour? Beyoncé performing End of Time at Roseland? Beyoncé performing Who Run The World at the AMAs? I’m sorry but there are just plenty performances of Bey dancing and singing live. Yes, ofc, she lip syncs when she needs to protect her voice, and she does give herself room to breathe after intense choreo, but let’s not act like it’s more often than not. Sis got them LUNGS.
Run the world at billboard u mean she didn’t perform it at amas but did u just know these of the top ur head good
With Normani i just feel like she should do the Beyoncé route with her choreo what I mean by that is do choreo but not heavy choreo so she can sing and she off her beautiful voice
Normani can’t even sing very well even when standing still though. Normani’s voice is very shaky, unstable, and underdeveloped. She’s better off giving a great dance performance and lip syncing to her pre-recorded tracks than trying to sing live even with altered choreography. She doesn’t have the breath control to go the Beyoncé route, she’s bette off going the Janet Jackson route of giving stellar dancing and performance while lip syncing
@@cashcow4450 from what I’ve seen Normani can sing very well she just needs to work o some things like power
@@cashcow4450 Normani's voice sounded very beautiful from a clip she released on tik tok of her singing acapella recently. Her problem is being able to establish a healthy connection when belting. Her vocals are going to be on the softer side no matter what because that's just her natural timbre/tone so don't expect her to be a powerhouse deeper toned like Beyonce.
@@jesusgarcia5197 yeah she’s good accaplela but she’s not a powerful voice like Beyoncé
3:52 you can legit hear the distortion from the pitch correction AKA autotune effect on that mic

Chloe was definitely lipping a lot of the first Have Mercy performance at the VMAs, bc her dancing in that one was really aggressive. In the performance at the AMAs, she was definitely singing live and changed the dancing a bit to reflect that.

Beyonce is called queen for a reason 👏
I just can't wrap my head around lipsync when it comes to choreos that allow it ! Live vocals are just *chef's kiss* and I wish there were more available. I can't seem to find a single BTS live singing in award shows, but they always sing live in concerts and tours (I wonder how their voices aren't exhausted) and these are the performances that are most pleasing to watch and hear. I get why someone would lipsync when dancing something really hard, but making it a habit is something that really annoys me cause I enjoy raw vocals. Imo Twice's performance of I Can't Stop Me when they *actually* sang live is the perfect example of the balance needed when it comes to hard choreos.
Most award shows (in Korea as far as i know) apparently want performers to lipsync so itll seem “perfect” but i wish that wasnt so
I'm not sure if you're talking about all award shows or just those in Korea, but the ones in Korea are notorious for this. The standard of perfection in the K-pop industry is ridiculous.
Jihyo ate in that perfomance of i cant stop me, you can hear how hard the choreo and the song is in the last chorus, i'm glad we can hear scientist live the the tour
award shows take off some live vocals and ad-libs i think? because fancams and broadcast sound really different. (when ateez performed the real during, san's mic was cut several times, it's one the first example that came into my mind)
Award shows sometimes put a track on top of performances, because of fans screaming. I mean i think it was bts first bbma performace where in the official video you cant hear fans screams and boys mouthshapes are just a bit behind the music, but if you search for fancams you can hear that they sing live and there was massive screaming from fans. So i think award shows put a track on top of the video that they show to tv and put to youtube, because otherwise we would hear screams.
The most impressive for me in this video is PINK. Girl be doing summersaults while singing. She also did a performance one time while suspended in the air... UPSIDE DOWN.

I also heard that now more artists lipsync to pre-recorded tracks where you can hear their breaths so it's even harder to know if they're lipsyncing or not
Camila My oh my on Jimmy Fallon and Havana on Grammys were amazing live performances!
I don't know other people standard but my standard is live performance should better than studio version. I expect different experience, if I feel the same like I can watch them through CZcams or even worse than CZcams why I pay to go to their concert. Beyonce and Pink were so incredibly amazing, kpop > Bigbang, TVXQ, Shinee and GOT7 did live performance better than studio, they knew how to play with the note and techniques and audiences. ITZY was good too.
Ps. Artists are also human, it's true that there were some performance weren't good but mostly they did live so incredibly amazing.
Watching this is satisfying. About male actors stepping up their vocals. There are some who actually take vocal lessons seriously and can dance crazy choreography while singing live. In KPop industry, among boygroups there's BigBang and EXO who's amazing at singing live. EXO is known to sound even better than their studio records. There's a lot of their videos on the internet on their concerts. Their concerts are called EXOplanet and they have 2 versions every concerts --they record one concert in Japan and one in Seoul. You can actually see them sing live. And these men take vocal lessons seriously. Throughout the years, as fan for almost a decade, I can notice their voices have improved even better now. They've trained their assess off since pre-debut that it's admirable that they never lost polishing their craft until now. Some of them are serving the military for now so they're on solo activities but you can check out their concerts.
I understand that in kpop performances it’s necessary to lip sync in some moments, because the choreographies are very difficult and they compose a big part of the song itself
YAAAAY 🔥🔥🔥
the fact that mamamoo isn’t here is a crime, they’re the queens of live singing
One of the things that made me notice is that if it sounds like they're taking deep supported breaths, but their bodies do not look like they are. It's definitely pre-recorded. Also looking at mouth and throat movement too helps!
Beyoncé lip syncs more than she sings live while she dances…but she is capable at doing both. She just doesn’t like messing up!
But it’s still impressive how she recovers and still carry out a 2 hour show and performance
No she lip syncing less cause we can notice how she lipped a song she recorver her month back to back she's great for but she's scared of it and not confortable while doing that's why most of the time she sing live
It’s hard to tell because Beyoncé sounds every time different performing her songs. Different runs, different timing etc.

Singing and dancing are so hard, some times music labels and choreographers should take into consideration before doing something so hard to actually perform. For example, the example you show it of TWICE, their song I Can't Stop Me has one if not their hardest choreographies ever (and one of the hardest choreos for Girl Groups at that year), AND the song was really really vocally challenging, having extreme high notes that are really hard if you are just sanding let alone dancing. TWICE has some really cool performances and have cool live vocals and stability (Jihyo and Nayeon receiving the spotlight for how powerful their vocals are) while giving their all while dancing at the same time (they never stop, they are so hard-working), with one of the best stage presences nowadays in K-pop in my opinion. They have evolved sooo much since their debut, just look at the live vocals from all their comebacks from the past years (really like Fancy, Feel Special, Cry For Me, Alcohol-Free live performances) and their World Tour that is happening right now (recommend Icon, Turn It Up, Get Loud, Hello).
I really like their song shown in the video! I've never heard of them but they seem amazing. I cant believe they sang AND danced so beautifully. 😍
@@princess19964evr I'm glad you like it, they are amazing and have really fun personalities as well! They have the title of Korea's National Girl Group and are the biggest selling Korean Girl Group of all time, they can really do it all. I recommend their comebacks like Feel Special, The Feels, Cry For Me, Fancy and Alcohol Free if you like I Can't Stop Me ^^
Can you make a video dedicated to beyoncé's vocals?
2:42 thanks for using her fav song🥰
