    Do not lose sight of the fact this is a budget car. I went from a top of range Kamiq 1.0 turbo to a ZS Exclusive 1.0 turbo in April this year. Had no problems so far. It is a well specked comfortable car. To replace my Kamiq with a new model I would have paid £10k more than the MG. Only downside for me is that the engine lacks refinement and the fuel economy is woefull. For the money there is a lot to like.

    If the cars are so good, why is everyone that ownes a Mg selling them after 30 thousand kms? Is there something we should know?? I've read it has 3 major problems with brakes, steering and power loss so....is it really a reliable car or not. Just curious?!

    • @7six3
      @7six3  Před rokem +3

      Hey Rob, I can only speak from my experience but I've had no issues with power loss, brakes or steering. The brakes are better than my 19' Hilux. As for resale, I've been approached by the dealership to trade up a couple of times now, especially with MGs push to EV. Resale wise they're only going for a few thousand less than new so still holding value. I'm keen to run mine for at least another 12/24 months before rolling over to something else. Hope the feedback helps with your decision making.

      I would say they are selling them at around 30,000kms because they are upgrading to the next year model. The resale is excellent and when you sell it for around $22,000 you can almost buy a brand new one for the similar price. I have personally had a 2021 MG ZS Excite, did 20,000kms then sold it, then got a 2022 model, now its done 27,000kms and about to pick up my new 2023 in a few weeks time. Then I will sell the 2022 model for around $21,000.

      Have you seen it has plastic bracelets to hold parts of the engine? The infotainment is a bit slow and looks like a Chinese cheap tablet. The noise on highways you're not the first talking about it. The quality of the embedded sound isn't good either. And the fuel consumption is a bit high because of lack of power in the engine.

    l was thinking about buying an MG zs mainly because l can get a new car insead of a second hand at the same price and get a new car warranty, but my concerns is that it will have much more mechanical problems compared to a toyota or mazda, yes it has a 7 year warranty but will that cover the costs or everything that will go wrong, whats not covered in the warrranty like brakes that l would have to pay for. What will the MG be like after 5 years and 100,000 Kms , yes it will still be under warranty but will l have to take it in for repairs every month

    • @7six3
      @7six3  Před 10 měsíci

      Personally, no mechanical issues whatsoever. For me the 7 year warranty gives me peace of mind while still being able to get behind the wheel of a new car.
      My best suggestion is keep doing your research to make sure you find the right car for you. Good luck & safe travels 👍

    I was provided with this new V.E. as a loan car while my vehicle is being repaired at a crash repairer. I can't help feeling in getting my vehicle back not soon enough.
    The most disturbing experience i have with the MG ZS is the lane assist. There is no were for me to turn this annoying function off. It is a nerving experience having our normal steering effort interfered with. We are capable people and if we were not then we should not have a licence to drive. It becomes even more concerning at a higher speed. I need to keep it under 100km so as for the vehicle not feel so wobbly with enough bounce from left to right and vice versa. It feels almost as if one has a loose front wheel. It just does not feel safe to me driving this car and i think it should be reviewed by Australian authority.
    Everyhting about it feels cheap right to the plastic door handles. Affointment is basic and does not provide for optional functions.
    The brakes are not the best and it does take a little more pressure to get an effect. The pedal position is not even right. My foot presses on the pedal and the bar. The interior lights are akind to holding a candle inside and there is no light for the rear seating area.
    It is a lot of money to fork out and onr deserves better standards. But i be forgiven it being Chinese made in explaining all.
