The reason is majority of raiders say they are chill and have lots of time but as soon as they wipe one time they are itching to boot someone they think is holding the team back

Very true, however I had a squad of dudes who had just returned to the game w me on a div run and it was super wholesome I gave them some meta setups to run for dps and endgame and they got me div
Ran some Pantheon last night in an LFG and our ad clearers were suffering a bit and our other members were getting tilted at the number of ads still alive. I respectfully asked to check their builds and saw them using jade rabit and a random suros auto, suggested they try out sunshot and they started cooking like crazy. Its not that hard to just be nice and respectful to your fellow guardians!
I main a void hunter. I pretty much never take off Graviton Lance/Gyrfalcon. Shit's just so good for ads, and I'm too used to soloing. Been using an Envious/Bait Edge Transit I got for bosses and it rocks their shit.
Trying to get into Strand and Solar Titan. Strand in particular seems good for big boys.

Yeah. I realized at round 45 a random in Onslaught was running double autos. I asked him to swap one of them and thankfully we finished wave 50.
Kinda upset he was with a clan member and his friend didnt give him some more tips.

The key difference in any game with teammates is "if its not good I'll switch it up" this is universally helpful
Usually when i make an LFG with my buddies and we get someone who decides to try to change others loadouts, i make it very clear, were allowed to play how we like, and 90% of the time we know what we need to use while still having fun, but every so often we get a "know-it-all" who consistently bickers about something, boom gone, not to be tolerated. Like clyde said, its a game.

i remember we had a clan member at one point, we were doing garden of salvation, and the only time i have ever shot down someone’s loadout is when he decided it would be a good idea to use last word for final boss dps. after he got some of the lowest boss damage i’ve ever seen, we never let him live it down

I Remember my first raid, deepstone crypt during the covid outbreak in 2021. It was 3 am(i'm italian btw) and i found on the app some americans. I was just a blueberry and didn't have a good loadout but they didn't insult me or anything like that.they were so understanding and we actually all laughed a lot when we wiped, they took all time necessary to explain each phase even multiple times. I never felt like that again while doing other raids with other people. The thing is that clyde is right: it's just a game, the most important thing is to enjoy it with others and not make people uncomfortable for just playing in their own way

I did this with my friend who didn’t know destiny that well, he only ever did casual stuff and never did anything past a strike. He wanted to do Warlord’s Ruin just us, which honestly made me happy seeing him branch out. First encounter went fairly decent I carried a lot with damage as he ran sunbracers and took care of the adds for us. The ogre however was back breakingly difficult and something felt off, he was dying too quick and genuinely felt like he had no survivability, to which he didn’t. Turned out he was running t5 resil with low recovery, maxed int, and damage rift instead of healing. I sat down with him and explained why he was dying so quickly and what to fix as he didn’t know that resil was that important and he thought int helped with warlock super. After the fix we destroyed the ogre and final boss and now he runs weekly raids with a few of his friends he met from the lfg. And I had a similar experience with my load out of d breath strand fusion from the new season mixed with the hand cannon you get from lightfall post campaign missions alongside blade barrage. I was told I wasn’t going to output any damage on the final boss of Warlord’s because he is floating, I proceeded to deal 70% of the boss’s hp by the time we killed him because I ran the build that well.
Yeah I joined a guy for legend wave 50 the other day and he immediately started telling me to change my build before we even started. This was right after I hit 3000 hours on steam and spent like 30 minutes making the build. I feel like when Ron Swanson goes to home Depot and someone tries to help him. He just says "I know more than you." and he walks away.

@@IFadedlinkI it was an eyes of tomorrow build with mantle of battle harmony. I don't have it anymore, but it wasn't a bad build by any means. 700+ kills in a 50 wave run. Infinite heavy ammo and restoration times 2 and radiant and heat rises. Wells when needed.

This is perfectly said. I lost some homies in D1 over communication. Haven’t really recovered from it. Probably why I don’t do stuff with others in d2. It sucks investing time into “friendships” to lose them over something so trivial.
When u ask people about what there doing in lfg or any game to be exact, u get targeted by the whole server, I asked this guy doing gaze what are u doing and I got least damage because I couldn’t get my Izi edge transit b/s proc I got flamed for least damage when this boss isn’t even looking at me

I easily get 2 million damage just getting gaze. But that's because I'm using arbalest. But honestly none of what I've just said matters as long as you can get the gaze no matter how then you've done your job
i remember when i did my first raid a few months ago. they suggested i try other thing but when i told them i really don’t have much more they were very understanding.they respected that and kept me up until nezerac. the d2 community has its moments

For sure dude, totally agree. Had a week 3 Pantheon and we were struggling a bit on Golg with gaze guys struggling a little. They felt bad and I kept saying "it's chill guys, keep at it." Eventually one was clearly fed up and asked someone else to take over. I took over and we got it next phase, but I came very very close to wiping us and the other gaze guy grabbed gaze when he heard me panicking and saved it. Roles in raids are hard and damage phases can also be hard. It's a hard activity, that's the point. Most LFG teams need to chill out
This is why I love raids. Soft skills, trust, practice, etc.
That's why I play with a friend group. My builds dps isn't much further behind than meta builds but enough to make the try hards angry.
To me, having a build that matches your playstyle is much more important instead of forcing yourself to be cookie cutter and not know how the meta builds work
facts bro💯, me & my friends did atraxis on pantheon & i was using parasite & blade barrage but was doing crap damage somehow and this one guy named sky got pissy with me so i said some shit back him & in the end i did more damage then him, and he left almost immediately after that lol
Me and my friends don't like using lfg, unless That One Friend™ initiates it. We don't always have enough people for a full fireteam, so sometimes we just decide to low-man encounters just to avoid using lfg. I've trio'd Nezarac several times already in the past two weeks to help my friend get Conditional, lmao.
I mean, if you have a play style outside of shooting, grenading, or punching for smaller numbers than you could.be doing then yes, ppl will be mad. Depending on the content, rightfully so...

I just tried to do Pantheon and I haven't done a raid in a very long time, the guys who were with me, kept shouting at me, blaming me for shit damage and not being able to play the game properly. I've played Destiny since D1 Beta btw
And also I'm on the autism spectrum so every time someone blames me for shit damage, instead of telling me properly what to do, and with what. I get confused and I give up and abandon the raid/activity

Last night me and my friend were running into good teams with no mic
I had this group nagging me to switch to arc warlock. I had to tell them 20 times in a row that I don't have anything in regards to that sort of setup. It was so weird and hostile. They kept occasionally nagging me about it too. I just left. I had no problem with the suggestion, I was just annoyed with them not grasping the point I was trying to convey.
I had this with solar warlock I'm not a solar warlock player I mained arc in D1 and did in the 1st 2 a 3 years of d2 now I play strand or stasis (or void for pvp)
And likely finished the encounter within the next 3 attempt while roasting you to the new guy who actually knew what they were doing. If youre gunna do high level content, either be prepared with high level options for every subclass or dont bottom frag

@@elderwolf2722I hope you’re not a raider because without a solar well as a warlock, the pure fact of the matter is you would be a detriment to every raid team you ever join unless they already have at least two well locks. As for having a setup it really isn’t hard to put phoenix protocol or lunas on and call it a day. Refusing to help the team because you don’t like a subclass is the reason raids take 5 hours.
In all my hundreds of LFG runs no one had ever forced me to use something I didn't want to use. Sometimes when people do ask me to run something I dont want to run, I just confidently decline, never got kicked because of that. As long as you know what you're doing LFGs cant control you
I never did raids because no one was willing to teach. Like iv looked at guides and I get the idea but 99% of lfg is “experience needed” we need more people like you willing to teach and guide people
Video games are supposed to be fun and when people run whatever they want and there having fun then it doesn’t matter if they lose as long as they had fun
It depends on what they are playing. If you are running strikes or something casual with your friends by all means play what you want. But if you join people who want to accomplish something like a raid and don’t want it to take 5 hours, then no, run what will actually work. Having done multiple 5 hour raids because people refuse to try what people who have experience suggest, that is not fun and a waste of the entire groups time because someone is being selfish and egotistical.

I was in an lfg with my friend trying to get him vex I had already got it I told him anytime I’m at atheon I’ll hit you up , we get there we keep dying cause we have to 3rd phase the boss and I’m sitting hear wondering why the hell are we going to a third phase and why can’t we get it on 3rd phase low and behold Mr titan with his sweet business and actium war rig has 155,000 damage … we tried everything to get this man to Change his build he wouldn’t we said just put on bubble titan go max discipline and throw grenades use the sweet business if you want to “ no I’m doing a lot of damage as it is with my loadout” so we kicked his ass got someone new who wasn’t even good and two phased it. Don’t go into a raid with that bullshit and expect people to be nice to you. I’m not some try hard I know everyone doesn’t have the most meta build and with time and effort we can pull though with the dps we got but you have to have dps to begin with some people will play nothing but strikes and pvp and no weapons to do damage to the boss
Run whatever you want in old raids not pantheon you are actually a liability if you don’t run good builds and weapons
You have to understand that these people who are kicking people in lfg's for low damage don't want to have to deal with teaching someone every time they raid

I did a Crota's End with my clan last night and the leader who usually does the most damage had the lowest damage by 20,000. The funny thing is everyone was between 3.7 million to 4.1 million damage. Pretty much even, and everyone had optimal DPS, including a first timer in the clan.

I've done this a few times. You gotta do it early in the encounter, because trying something while everyone is stressed doesn't work out well. People have to also be used to you doing this. Usually if I LFG and say "I'm gonna mod up and golden gun on Riven" while everyone else is using Lament Strat, I have a friend in my group that knows me to say "He'll be fine." It's a more complex way of getting the same results, but people find new things as imposing and less consistent, even when it rivals the effectiveness of common strats.
Staying interested in D2 is hard, so trying new things is my frantic grasp at the few staws Bungie gives us.
And this is exactly why I miss my old clan. They had patience, if it wasn't for other struggles with the upper management of it it'd still be together, but in early d2, they didn't demand you had certain weapons and worked with you, if we wiped we wipe. It was about fun
my clan was geared towards sherpaing, and it not only thought me life experience as the best way to teach people, but really showed how fun this game can be without a toxic clan (and I usually sneer at people whinging about toxicity in their games) screeching in your ear for using an off meta loadout.

Funny thing is, is that its pretty much everywhere in multiplayer games where teamwork matters and ego is so high they forget it takes the whole team to cooperate or at least be on the same level of agreement and chillness but agreed this clip is it
Facts, I created a clan with my friends that accept all skill levels. Ultimately our goal is to teach people raids and help them complete it. We are very patient and don’t get triggered when people struggle. It’s apart of them game. We also exclude them from master content and they completely understand. Two days ago we all played custom and we have ultimately made their D2 experience much better than any clan they’ve been apart of. This is what it is all about.

I was in a raid one time, I was the only warlock and we were going over the plan and I was running strand. The they just commented " during damage phase, Smitty will drop well here and we're going to do such and such etc" and I'm like "What do you mean when I drop well? I'm running strand right now." He's said "Well, you're going to have to switch to well." I said "With my setup right now my super does shitloads of damage and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I don't want to run well" The guy could not comprehend doing a raid without well.
I had a group that was really great, at the time I didn’t have a lot of stuff that would have been “meta” or the “best” for that encounter, so they let me run what I was comfortable with, and in the end, while I did have the lowest damage, it still wasn’t far off from everyone else, and I had cleared by far the most ads and champs
any time someone better than me gives me a loadout list or idea to use instead of what i'm currently using, i always reply with "let me cook. if i burn it, i'll borrow your recipe book."
Me and my boys were known in the destiny community destiny for taking new lights under our wing and teaching them about the game. The longest raid was 7 hours, but it was fun because we really didnt care and plus new lights be holding thier own when things click.

Exactly why I stopped doing raids and dungeons in Destiny. In D1 it was much more laid back and chill, and the raid still got done. Now if you don’t have an exact meta loadout, most groups won’t look in your direction.
I switched from being a hunter to being a heal crazy warlock and I feel I'm gaining more distance as a warlock than I ever did as a hunter and it's realistically helping my play style and now I'm going back to hunter feeling totally refreshed with new ideas
Ego is what makes the abyss the hardest raid encounter in the game (formerly the easiest), but put too many caffeine snorting eager edge strand hunters in the group, and it’s a 30 minute ordeal.
mastering "video games" is not easy at all and getting better gives you confidence through the roof.
My former group doesn't grind like I do so... I don't expect them to have everything so whatever works for you, that all I ask... except Warlocks, you always WELLS.... U ALWAYS WELLZ
I often run by this method when I do Sherpa runs of Raids. When people ask me "what's the best thing for damage on this guy?" I'll always turn round and say "well, the meta is this, but honestly just put on whatever you have fun with or whatever you want that you feel you can do damage with."
Only after that, I'll see how we're doing and only after a few attempts (if it doesn't work) will I be like "ok, let's all throw on the meta loudouts and move on to the next thing."
It helps teach people what works and also let's people have fun with their own builds. And as a Warlock main, I'll always throw myself on Well and let everyone else have as much fun as they can.
I cannot tell you how many times I've heard people laugh and have fun, enjoying what they're doing. I can tell you exactly the times that people didn't have fun: 3. And each one of those were only because people just felt like they were letting the team down. Each and every time I turn round and tell them that it's fine, it's all good and that doing these things is how we learn the game. How we learn what works and what doesn't.
We were all like these people once. So many people seem to have forgotten that.
I try not to have an ego and stuff but when I’m dropping 7 million damage in a single phase while everyone else is dropping 2 million I get pissed
Imagine a hunter in D3 with Golden Gun but instead of shooting solar, it shoots Well of Radiance.
Raid party leaders always have astronomical egos.

agreed. sometimes when people call rocket dps and we got folks running a fraction of the damage. it is never a good option to go "hey man get that damage up" like... just ask them like a person whats up and if we need to do a more comfortable option. i personally am not great with linears because i suck with flinch. I still run it and its one of my most common because we had taipan season where we were essentially forced to do it or else you were ostracized. When people took time to ask what the issue was rather than complain about it and try again, success was always quick and i took note of that.
The only time I suggest a loadout to someone is if their damage is severely below the rest of the team but most of the time I just let them run what they want
This is why i fucking love my clan. The dude who runs is the most knowledgeable Destiny player ive ever met and every time we have new people joining us for a raid and they ask about loadouts fot damage, the answer he always gives is "whatever you're the most comfortable with" knowing damn well that Boss isnt gonna last when himself and 2 other seasoned raiders are using crazy damage builds. If they want advice he always gives it but on someones first run through it works wonders to let them focus on mechanics and just use whatever weapons they like the most
Is it a really active clan? Me and a few of my friends are thinking of leaving our current clan, cuz there's never more than 3 or 4 people from the clan, on at one time.
In my time playing destiny as a titan I always make unique load outs with different exotics that people don’t use. There are some hidden gems out there!!
I’m more than happy just being a solo player and wearing whatever I feel like wearing. I don’t ever queue for anything tougher than Nightfalls and I still enjoy playing the game.
A example I had lastnight was on LW riven encounter everyone was running lament which we had done in the past but we were down a team member lastnight and not getting the 1 phase damage we needed, I swapped to my recurrent impact with feeding frenzy, landtank, subsistence. That change with a reload dodge and celestial I was clearing more dps than the other celestial hunters

A while ago, last expansion for context can't remember specifically though, I got some shit in a group for double primary - mostly playing Void Warlock and Funnelweb was a comfort zone, and I had the Nightwatch we get very early on with Rapid Hit and Explosive Payload.
I don't know if it was just the combination or also my aim but these more experienced players were surprised - didn't beat any of them but they were genuinely surprised by the damage.
I've had a thing for sustain perks since; anything that is on hit rather than on kill, like Rapid Hit or OFA, I'm also very fond of Frenzy, Kinetic Tremors is probably my favourite perk added since I started.
I don't think I out dps any dedicated loadouts, but it always seems to surprise some how much damage comes from these perks.
I recently got a Blast Furnace with KT & Frenzy and I was carrying a few onslaught runs.
Not just hunter , I’ve encountered basically all class with that behavior.
It’s because people want to run something as fast as possible and many people who are still around are vets that don’t always want to slow down for the very very few new lights. When I do I raid or hard end content with fireteam finder I fully expect things to go wrong and it take some time to get done. But if it helps some new people experience it and gain some loot then that’s a plus

Even to this day after fireteam finder was brought in, I still don't get invited/picked for a raid or ever see anyone joining to help.
Big reason why I wont touch LFG stuff. I'm a casual. I run a Handcannon and a SMG for most of the stuff I do. I hardly know anything else - I'm trying to learn to play with other stuff, finding what works and doesn't.
The biggest issue is people see having to wipe an encounter as a cardinal sin.
Tried that once.. and Buddy Blueberry was stuck in his ways and threw our Pantheon by never reaching above 2mil damage.. it’s crazy how people want to do the activity but can’t or won’t change their loadouts
I once did a Dungeon where we used Ratking for DPS because it was funny. That will tell you all you need to know about me. We tried using it at Atheon once too and while it didn’t WORK, we certainly had fun. And thats what matters most to me, fun.
Yesterday I was running week 4 caretaker and my team was simply looking at my loadout and telling me to run something else, I was strand warlock, witherhoard, zhaoulis bane, crowning duolouge with envious assassin and auto loading holster, once he looked at my damage he stopped talking because I had the highest damage at 5.4 million and the next highest was 4 million. That's why I typically say to just use whatever you think you can do the most damage with
Communication is more important than load outs in raids
Yeah I just had a group that talked down to us at atraks saying we're garbage and we'll never be good enough instead of teaching us to do the damn encounter I still haven't completed pantheon
My first ever taste of raids was a group of friends draging me into pantheon, I had Zero idea what I was doing but I had a good ass time because all I ever got was good advice, what to swap to, how to even use bait and switch I still have no idea what guns / builds are good but atleast I got my first experience in a group that was understanding and helpful.

I normally just lfg when I want to do a quick raid and the leader is always the guy doing no damage and refuses to change his build. Not because he’s using a support build to boost everyone else damage, he just has a shit build and won’t change anything. Meanwhile he’s critiquing everyone else…
Most of the lfg raid groups I was in were chill

I remember an lfg where we were doing riven and the ego of the lfg leader would try to make us do the closest thing possible to his loudout with linear fusions, we kept wiping until I told everyone just to stop and put on the king cobra which everyone had and we one pahsed it on our first try. Never hurts to try something different.
reminds me back in the day on Destiny 1 i would be kicked from raids cause i didnt have a specific gun, or piece of gear.. and then i learnt the raid by myself and solo'd it and then helped others that also got kicked to complete the raid. its not hard to be decent human guys. we should do better!

Too many people in online gaming these days have too much of an ego and baseline that people need to meet. Plus people online allow themselves to be unhinged vs how they are IRL in person.
When I come across new people in destiny I try to be as welcoming as possible while remaining honest and informational.
This is why, I’ve been playing with the same 6 or 7 people for the last like 3-4 years💀

I feel like I've been struggling with pantheon and my friend has been telling me that I'm doing fine because I don't haven't updated my sets and old dps aren't as fitting as they once were, he also says that no one else in our group could carry in the ways I do as I can balance strategy and adapt to my task without much effort so bad DPS is fine as long as I have other things I excell at, he also said to imagine what it'll feel like when my DPS is better

This is honestly why i rarely do end game content... Maybe once a week i can catch everyone and we can raid... Otherwise i never have enough folks on top raid... But every LFG encounter i have had, had been so toxic, i just have up on it regardless of how much i really want to do this
I run a weaken suppression hunter, I don't do a lot of damage nor can I can to much of a hit. But when I start dropping my weakens and suppression, the rest of my clan's damage shoots up. They all love it especially when I pop invisibilities to revive people or save people
I always ask what my team wants me too run to make sure we are on the same level
Stopped playing when the Last Wish Raid dropped because I didn't have certain weapons. Couldn't find a group that was willing to teach me the raid. Some people were trying to charge for that kind of stuff. I don't regret dropping the game. The community is not the same as it was in D1. Everyone was always so eager to help and discover new stuff. Now it's "if you don't have the ball tickler and scrotum scratcher loadout you can't join us".
We once had a guy ask if we knew how good his kdr was when we were doing vault of glass. We didnt care.

Farmed Riven with a couple if groups, they all did the sword-in-the-corner while I matched them with my Linear fusion rifle without their Well buff. It's not a matter of doing the most popular strategy, it's doing your best strategy
Honestly. Before strongholds were busted, they were still awesome with behemoth titans shields and resist w/ lament. People would look at me funny in nightfalls, but would see how awesome the tankiness was. I held guard for the entire team on scarlet keep and ate the witch's attacks like crayons while they loaded into her free from attacks. Revives were almost guaranteed as long as I was up. I like using strand synthoceps more now, but buildcraft is the best part 😊
I had a guy in last wish raid bitching about my load out, then I went out and did more DPS than the rest of the team. 2 guys instantly changed to my DPS and we beat the encounter
