- Inside Job is the most relatable show I've ever watched.
Inside Job deserved so much better than what it got. Once again, a show dealt a bad hand by Netflix. Today I wanted to talk about why I love this show so much, what makes it stand out more than it's contemporaries, and why it hit me so personally. I hope you stick around to enjoy this video because it really is the most personal one I've made so far.
I really want to thank Shion Takeuchi, Alex Hirsch, and all the wonderful, talented, creative people who worked on this show. Here's hoping that will see this continued in the future.

Even after so long, I wish Inside Job would just be picked up by Adult Swim or someone else. This is my love letter to the series and I really hope you enjoy this video. I know it's a little late to the party with this video but it genuinely took me a long time to sort through all my thoughts on this show. That even 4 months after it's cancellation, I can still have these unchanged feels. These feelings about the show that are even stronger now.

It will likely get picked up. It may take a year or two but I'm fairly sure we'll get a season 3. Inside Job, especially Season 2 was unique and different and a breath of fresh air.

I don't normally get this upset over something as goofy as an adult cartoon, but I was absolutely flabbergasted when I found out that Netflix had canceled the single most creative and interesting thing that has ever come out of their company. My personal love towards the show aside, I just can't understand how this decision made financial sense.
Reagan deserved a happy ending and I will never forgive Netflix for cancelling this phenomenal show cuz that cliffhanger/finale had me crying

Honestly Reagan is the most unique protagonist in adult animation, like she’s very smart and brilliant but she isn’t the best socially and tends to act like her father at the worst moment’s but tries her best to get the job position she alway wanted well trying her best to maintain her friendship with her group along the way and her friendship with brett is probably the best part of the show but that could just be me thinking that.😺
she is a smart adult animation character that its aware its flawed instead of just being an asshole. adult animation protagonist kinda defaut to morron or asshole she was a breath of fresh air

To be honest, Reagan is flawed but not in an ironic sad way, we actually see the progress she makes through the series. There is a point to be made with the show.
It’s really frustrating when shows like Inside Job, Dead End: Paranormal Park, Infinity Train, Final Space, Tuca & Bertie, The Owl House, and Close Enough get cancelled so quickly, but shows like Big Mouth, Velma, Fairview, and every other wannabe Family Guy, South Park, and Rick & Morty shows get greenlit and renewed.

One of my favourite pastimes recently has been watching Inside Job, Final Space and Dead End and I’m pretty heartbroken they got cancelled. Also Dead End did an amazing job at introducing not only one, but two main LGBT characters in a way that doesn’t feel forced. As a part of the community, it’s incredibly impressive.
The Owl House was ruined for me not because it was shortened, but because it focused on character development too much.
I wouldn't put rick and morty on the same level as family guy and south park but more or less I agree with all of this
I worked as an animator on this show! It really did feel like a passion project all across the board, I remember how upset everyone was when we heard that netflix was cancelling it. I really hope it somehow comes back some day, even if I don't get to work on it again/it goes to another animation studio.

Thank you for bringing this breathtaking show to life. Inside Job had heart and soul, and I hope it gets picked up and y'all get to work on it again. In my honest opinion, it's one of the best series of all time, despite being killed off before it could truly spread its wings.

as a neurodivergent female programmer with parental issues and a mild lust for world domination, reagan ridley is one of my favorite protagonists ever. it was so gratifying to see her get with ron, and it made me cry when she had to give him up. i want what she and ron had in the pope episode. ill miss inside job, and ill never forgive netflix for canceling it.

Honestly, I'm not surprised Netflix axed Inside Job while giving Big Mouth another season. Companies care more about ratings than quality, and even then, shows like Owl House got pressured by Disney for the "sin" of giving us well-written bi romance. In other words, corporations were never our friends.

@@uniraffesaur Apparently, people who watch Big Mouth are those who also watch raunchy adult comedy like Family Guy and its many, many clones. I had a friend who absolutely loved this Family Guy-esque show that was based on the British royal family, and he also started to like Big Mouth.
I mean there are loads of highly popular, well known shows which didn’t get received amazingly on their first season. They grew popular over time as the show developed. Netflix don’t understand this, only keeping the same originals because they hit Top 10. Obviously your well known original shows will hit Top 10, they’re literally WELL KNOWN. 🤦🏼♂️

Inside Job is one of those shows where you can feel the absolute love and dedication to making it as in depth and wonderful as possible.

One of my favourite parts of Inside Job is that Reagan as a protagonist is an actual character. She’s not just a cardboard cutout to spew out whitty and sarcastic remarks like a douchey know-it-all, she has actual strive and goals that are clear from the get-go. She wants to rule Cognito, each move she makes either progresses or gets in the way of that goal, and it’s amazing to see how it all comes together by the end of the season.
I just wanna see this show get the proper love and attention it deserves, not just by the fandom, but by Netflix as well who continuously show their greed and obsession with low-effort and boring drab that overshadows the actual talent and passion such as Inside Job.
The season one arc with Regan made me cry dude what she gave up knowing that was the only way he’d be happy, would inherently make her unhappy and she still did it

This has been one of my favourite comfort shows in recent years because of its amazing sense of humour and insane attention to continuity, and it REALLY hurt to see it go so soon. Let’s hope that we see it again sometime in the near future, but for now… See you, Inside Job. Someday, Somewhere

The fact that it was renewed, only for Netflix to go back on that is insane. Not to mention it being literal hours after I watched the finale.
I wanted to see what Orrin would’ve looked like present day. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that the show was setting him up to be a major character.
Brett was able to hold the company together, at least temporarily, so Regan’s new dilemma would be trying to reconnect with an old friend, while trying to keep cognito a secret from him.
I remember seeing season 2 and for a long time waiting for orrin to be brought up.

A good thing about the reference humor is that you don’t always have to get the reference for it to be funny. The Mandela effect episode is a good example of that

Rand's finale really broke me. He tried so desperately to fix something he caused.
My father did something similar. He tried so hard to fix issues in our family that he caused without thinking about how he was the one who caused them. He took his own life three years ago.

I also loved this show to my core. It was one of the few shows I've seen in a while actually capture my attention and bring me joy. The jokes, characters, design, EVERYTHING WAS SO UNIQUE. Gorey humor isn’t really my thing so I probably wouldn’t watch something like this, but I am impressed you found something that related so personally. Too bad it got canceled, but on the bright side at least the show succeeded in the time it had, which is sometimes more comforting than seeing it go long enough to eventually wear out and become bad. I get the impression that this one had more to tell though, so here’s hoping the petition pans out.
Also, why do we need a hell-themed amusement park to convince people we need to pursue salvation and submit to Rome? We already have that, it’s called Twitter.

I want to know why no one is talking about Reagan and Brett ending up together. They grew up in a similar way "having daddy issues," and are the result of the two possible outcomes from their upbringing. They have so much chemistry and trust that I think the animators and writers are hinting they will be together in the end.

To all those saying they wish another streaming service picks it up: Netflix owns ALL the rights of the show and the creator Shion is in a multi year deal with Netflix to make shows exclusively for them.
They only way this could come back was if Netflix sells its rights or renews it again.
The latter has a better chance, so please recommend it and rewatch, only then we have a chance ❤

@@TheShuckmeister I was a Netflix shareholder (0.1 Netflix share) a while ago, after they cancelled 2 series I enjoyed, I made the break and sold my shares, I dont cared about the money loss, I just wanted to watch what they took away.
Today, series seasons have like 10 episodes, or even less, 10-15 years ago, a season had likely 20-30 episodes. I really dont want to support netflix, but watching movies illegal just for the risk? Even not a solution 😢
Just finished the show, Appleton was surprising. I didn't expect the show to make me so sad at the end and it set up a massive cliff hanger. It's cancellation breaks my heart

Inside Job's intro is one of my favourite intros in all of animation...with a great show behind it. So sad it was cancelled.
Inside Job… is the single best comedy show I’ve seen in years, every character plays their own style of humor making the team feel more alive! And at the same time it is so heartwarming and the characters feel so alive! It was the definition of a perfect adult comedy in my book and it was wonderful. When I heard that they canceled Inside Job, my first remark was “That was the biggest mistake I’ve seen this whole decade.” (And yes I’m saying canceling inside job was a bigger mistake than Elon Musk buying Twitter)

This was a phenomenal show! This is one of the few animations that caught my eye. I never really have the patience to watch films or series, but somehow this show intrigued me. I am so happy I watched it since it has a lot of interesting concepts and lessons in life and I love it. Such a breath of fresh air plus it was well-executed and entertaining. My favorite scene was when they took some shrooms, because of the visuals, and the scene where Reagan leaves Ron. I almost cried.
I hate how they treat the actual fucking gold they have on their hands. RIP Inside Job.

I’m curious. Given what the last scene in Appleton meant to you, how would you have felt if Ron and Reagan reunited in Season 2???
(since it’s later on revealed that the robes were messing with Reagan while she thought she’d work for the greater good. They were also watching her so it’s probable that they altered what she saw as her realities. Plus, robes said something about her getting distracted and wouldn’t have preferred that again)

This show was a huge comfort for me, really, in 2021 I was going through a lot, and this show really helped me, I'm not even kidding, I rewatched it and loved every character, the second season maked me love it even more, but when I heard it was cancelled, I literally cried for hours, the only hope was that any other Company to pick it up, I'm not even saying that I wanted three more seasons, one last season with a special of one hour and a half, or two part special, maked it good and solved question's, thats it, im truly mad with Netflix

I've become an insanely big South Park fan after hating it for quite a while after Inside Job ended because I realized it was quite literally what I was looking for. So many good seasons, funny, adult, and guaranteed not getting cancelled anytime soon. I'm also happy to have a mainstream interest. I think Inside Job could of become a new rick and morty or whatever if they let it. I cried when it was cancelled. :( Theres even a South Park reference in Inside Job haha
South Park has been hit or miss for me personally. New season is pretty good though

I would love it if Adult Swim (or some other adult animation-oriented channel) would pick up Inside Job so that the story can be finished. The show was pretty damn good. Hell, it would be right at home on Comedy Central! (Though CC probably wouldn’t give them enough of a budget, as with most of their shows)

What Netflix did to this show was criminal and honestly, makes absolutely no sense, especially from a business perspective. And I would just like to say, the decision to pursue your career is definitely the best choice right now. It's always hard to have to leave the people we love and care about, but if you would have settled at this stage of your life, it would only lead to resentment later.

This was genuinely my favorite show by a long shot. I cried at the end of p2, and it’s very hard for me to get sad enough to cry for a show. It was one of the funniest shows I’d watched, and I was so excited to see season 2, but, Netflix just has to be the worst fucking company to exist
