That one bed for 3200 is like paying for your own prison 😅
overrated rubbish
Is it missing anything? : space for breathing......
In the one bed apartment, the only toilet is the en-suit, so if you have a guest over, they would have to go into your bedroom to use the facilities. This design clearly wasn't thought out
4000 a month!! Then there's service charges and council tax etc it would LITERALLY be cheaper to stay in a hotel for a grand a week 😂
@@Mac-qi5nzyou don’t pay service charges on a rental property.
@@johnspeter100 its a one bedroom, if anyones over its gonna be a friend chilling in the bedroom is gonna be the norm anyway
Why are all apartments in London, the bathrooms have no windows at all? I prefer the bathroom having a window with sun light
London is fast paced and has its own manic energy.
If you’re not careful, the fast paced City work/life grind will actually chew you up.
Rentals like this eat a chunk of your earnings each month and keep you running on a treadmill like a hamster - moving, but not going anywhere.
Post Covid - a lot of us have relocated and travel into the City as and when we have to - checking into a hotel for a few days instead.
People have been doing that for decades..... living outside of London and commuting in. But some people are on high enough incomes and loves the city life, so perfext for them. Earning £120k in London is nothing..... plenty of high income earners. All of the premiership footballers are on a at least £100k plus a week lol probably some championship footballers are on £50k a week
@@charlesjay8818 120k is still a lot for London. The footballer example is crass and so out of context.
@@Ashtonishing1812 which part of what i said is crass???? i'm simply stating the facts
@@charlesjay8818 there are less than 200 pro footballers living in or near London which is a city of 10 million people. So it's a totally weird comparison.
I could care less for all the communal spaces. Scrape all that stuff and give me a living room twice that size.
When you add in service charges and council tax it's LITERALLY cheaper to live in a hotel!?!? 😂
Wtf my mistake it's not single occupancy it's to share between 4 of you 🤯🔫
Must be horrendous trying to actually sell this as if its in any way good. Soul crushing.
I wouldn’t even try, he done his best though
When he tried to sell the view of the river Thames, and all you can see is your neighbours' living rooms and cars everywhere, you don't even get any direct sunshine..
@thomassabatier506 yeah, pure fluff to pretend it's great, when it's honestly soul destroying.
@@paulhooley5687soul destroying is ex exactly what the WEF agenda is about. Any space in London will be crammed with as many boxes called apartments. There is a development next to White City its blocks of units crammed within touching distance. Zero privacy. I never regard a kitchen to be a wall of cupboards stuffed into a tiny living area. They call it open plan living I call it a bloody rip off.
Let's be honest, if you are working professional in the city/westminster these are perfect. But at £4000 per month that is just overpriced. You can get something very decent for £2500 per month (if you are in the £100k+ salary bracket). Just because you earn a lot, does not mean you have to be stupid with your money.
Also, this is a Greystar property, and they are well known for charging premium prices for basic setups.
Well said and couldn't agree more.
The rent is totally out of control. This flat is hardly defined as “luxury”.
London’s a total rip off. A similar spec 1-bedroom flat in downtown Montreal (Canada) is currently priced at ~£800/month.
@@obamtl Yeah but Montreal ISN'T London. London is a much bigger city, attracts far more people and geographically has over 750 million people within a 3.5hr flight time. Also London is one of if not the biggest financial centres in the world, 2nd after Paris for tourism, and a millionaires paradise. And attracts some of the biggest events in the world. Ask anyone in the world to name top 10 or 20 cities..... i doubt Montreal would make it. The price is similar to NYC.... which is a much better comparison
Remember the price of anything is what someones prepared to pay. Based on supply & demand thats the price, and i'm pretty sure soon that place will be fully sold and occupied
@@obamtl yeah but why would you want to live in Montreal?
@@raquille1 fresh air for a start! I'm sorry there is no justification for these rental costings ... greedy developers ...
This request is specifically for Tom and Matt. Firstly I’d like to congratulate u both for ur splendid work on bringing wide range of properties from across the world for us to watch them from comfort of our home. I often take walks in the area near US embassy and was glad to see what the inside of those apartments looks like as I was curious. Have noticed that very close to the location of blocks of apartment that’s on this vid there what seemed like couple of penthouses (on top floor) on the river facing apartments opposite to Vauxhall Uber boat pier. Two if I’m precise in a green and white building. Must say they looked penthouses as they were on top floor but I might be wrong too and if they’re occupied then it’s probably not gonna there for u to film but if they’re available then it’d be great if we could see them on this channel. Thank you
I've gotta say this makes me slightly less depressed about my own living situation in London for a change. I've lived with my partner for 10 years so I don't pay rent, they secured a fixed tenancy in 2000 in zone 1. It's a one bedroom flat, just by Old Street, Moorgate, Bank etc. which really boomed in terms of luxury apartments, businesses, class and safety. The building itself is Victorian, but there is a separate bedroom, a living room that is probably about the size of the £3,200 apartment itself. A separate kitchen that's about the size of the living room/kitchen area alone. Its own separate bathroom. Granted, it's not got all the luxury services but I've turned half my living room into my own personal gaming, TV, entertainment, workspace etc. Granted there is no Thames view or balcony but I don't like heights and the Thames is filthy. It's definitely possible to score much better apartments in Zone 1 for much cheaper and be in walking/a short bus or tube journey away from everything zone 1 has to offer in Central London. If you don't mind not having rentable games consoles etc.? Bit of a random pointless addition to that building in my opinion, surely if you were earning that much you'd be able to afford to buy your own?
Apparently, I've been watching too many NYC apartment tours! This is clean, lovely and cheap!! If I lost my mind and moved to the city, this would work for me😊
overrated rubbish
These should be marketed as luxury living for students maybe. And turn the communal spaces into a student lounge. 😂😂
Nine Elms is sub prime…you can rent a 1,000 sq ft 2/3 bedroom flat in Chelsea for £4k
Definitely a great detail to incorporate the green space on the terrace so as not to feel so obfuscated by the buildings and the highly urbanized space and everything looks very balanced. The best of all is that today feels like a gift because, my advisors have approved my monograph to graduate from university and what better way than to celebrate it surrounded by the people I love and with a new property today on your channel guys. Thank you always for making our days special with your videos.
This complex was definitely designed for introverts.. You literally don't need too leave. I love them. 👌🏽
Why must the units be SO SMALL? It's like living in fancy prison, not fault to LHS but the builders are greedy. Just because it's a one bedroom doesn't mean it can't be spacious.
Almost all new builds are fairly small, especially in London. If you want more spacious apartment then u pay more
These actually look like very nice apartments, yes they might not be the size you are expecting but they are luxury and well built. The area, Nine Elms is very modern, secure, and well conected to the center. Its also close to Battersea Power Station which is beautiful and full of shops and restaurants. Plus the amenities the building has like lounge spaces, gym, inside park for kids, swimming pool with jacuzzi and barbecue are all top quality, similar to some Miami buildings. But remember this is London, space is scarce and very expensive! If you are between 30 and 40 years old and make $120k a year by yourself and you share this with your girlfiend I thinks its reasonable. Yes, expensive but remember you are living in the city center of one of the most expensive cities in the world. Great apartments, congratulations to the developer.
I dont see the reason why anyone would live in central london and pay these prices when they can live 25 mins away and pay half the price or pay the same price for double the space.
Some people prefer the convenience of living in central London and have a very high income so they can comfortably afford it. Fair play to those people 🤷🏼♂️
Which is the best place to rent close to London and where are you referring to?
£4K per month BUYS YOU a 6 bedroom detached family home with 3 bathrooms, double garage, 360 surround garden in Lincoln UK
How can I move that house to London? 😂
@@thehungrygoldfishwouldn’t change anything; it’s the area that makes the property expensive so that property would be a no go
One bed: The entry/kitchen is very dark even with recess lighting. The only properly lit place is the sofa bc it's near the balcony. Bad choice to do dark cabinets, dark walls and dark floors. It makes everything seem enclosed and drab.
Two bed: is much better lit bc it's clearly larger and doesn't look like they stuck an apartment in a hallway. Also, the choice to keep the walls light enlarges the space.
"Tomato soup. That'll be £8 please." *laughs in central London*
Then your going to the wrong place..... go to Greggs lol
Wow you get practically nothing for the money in those apartments. They look like nightmare places to live.
Life does not revolve around you. They are charged at that price because there is demand for apartments at that price point in London. Considering the high unit occupancy rate, that justifies the demand for them. I'm sure for the people renting them out, they are not nightmare places given the options they have with their budgets.
overrated rubbish
@@RRaymer you sound like a landlord. Also could you please point out where I implied that life does or should revolve around me?
I was simply replying to a request for feedback on the video. And my feedback was that it looked like a nightmarish place to live.
Landlords should be ashamed to charge such extortion prices when the customer gets so little in return.
@@eugdee7293price is decided based on what something is worth, not your opinion of what the price should be. That is the foundation of how an economy functions. The economy wouldn’t function any other way. And it’s literally in the centre, of the capital city, of a highly developed country. With a rooftop pool and high quality small apartments. You can’t have that kind of privilege if you’re not willing to pay extreme prices 😂
@@Alex-oy2su it looks like a dump, complete shithole. It would bearly be worth £100 a month to live in such a sub standard matchbox. You seem like the type of person who is stupid enough to silly pay money for such a crappy place to live.
With all those shared spaces, gardens and swimming pools, etc that need maintaining and cleaning, I wonder how much the service charge is, is that included in the £4000pm, I doubt it? It is bothering me, who cleans the barbecues and the rentable kitchens after use? But, having gone past Nine Elms several times, I have wondered what they were like inside and what they would need to offer to tempt people to live in that jungle of skyscrapers. Having all those shared amenities seems like a good idea so people aren't just living in their isolated little boxes.
Mugs paradise. Across the river in proper Zone 1 you can pick up a nice one bedroom flat in a garden square for £4k a month with nice neighbours and pubs in the Westminster village.
My father bought a house in Croydon for 3000 pounds in the 60s! This is way above the rate of inflation.
My friend bought his beautiful 2 bed ex council flat from Camden Council in West Hampstead, priory Rd for £46,000 in 1996
imagine making 120k a year just to live in this shit hole, which isnt really that central either
But if your company/embassy is paying and job is close by then it would work
and how rare is that tho lol @@charlesjay8818
What’s shit about it??
@@omarilowe451it’s still a half finished old industrial area and just all flats. It’s no Canary Wharf.
All the people complaining- its London and people have more money and live different lives to you. Im a Londoner and I wouldn't want this place as I hate new builds which is why I bought a nice Victorian house. Im a North London boy but I had to move to SE london just next to Peckham to buy my place so there is value out there if you have the budget and are willing to move to another borough.
As a Londoner who grew up not to far from this area this is not worth it! I can get a better property for half the price and with more space still within SW and in an area that has a lot more vibe and community than this corporate build.
Indeed very small crib, the decor is definitely lacking luxury vibe, but the location is what it's all about, good to see Matt with his detail informative ways, ideal especially considering pricey tag thanks for sharing Mat
Bro they fr gotta clean the thames, that'll be a big glow up for london frfr
Where I live in South West France, £3200 a month would get me a 5 bedroom château with pool and tennis court.
I feel depressed from just watching that. Imagine actually having to live there!
Fully stocked fridge. But not with food
Sorry but how do you figure out a £120k salary affords you a £4000/month rent? That would mean your rent takes up 2/3 of your monthly income, which nobody with any financial sense would do.
You probably live in a council house bro
@@luckyluciano6725 That makes zero sense kid. Learn to manage your finances and you'll get somewhere in life. There's still time.,
You’d be left with 72k after the rent alone if you want to take away 4-5k for bills which is an overestimate you’d still have 67k left. If you can’t live on 67k after rent and bills then you do not have any financial sense
@@omarilowe451 Oh dear. You can't even work out basic finances. £120k a year is £6,300 a month net. Take away £4,000 rent and you have £2,300. This is £27k a year to live on, not £67k. So now you have £2,300 per month. Council tax will be £300, pension payment of £500, food £500, monthly travel card £165. Now you're left with £250 a week and to cover utility bills, clothes, car payment, petrol, socialising etc.
I can tell you're very young and clearly haven't had to manage any sort of income before. But that's ok. Just take the time to learn rather than trying to act smart. Good kid.
@@mubblemann kid? You don’t know me so don’t make assumptions. I don’t know if you are thick or don’t know how read but the tittle clearly says £4000/month it doesn’t say £120k salary. Dont try and flip the script to suit your narrative. It’s £4000/month TAKEHOME dummy. And based on my previous comment one can easily afford to live there on £4000/month take home and I’m sure even as stubborn as you are you will agree to that. The fact that you made wild assumptions without knowing anything about me shows you are stuck up your arse and think you know it all. Humble yourself and pipe down you are wrong accept it and have a nice day👍
Hey stranger ;) hello Matt longtime no see. Nice apartments a bit small for the amount but I suppose location and amenities are the reason. 2 bed is better than one just wish the kitchen and livingroom were a bit larger. Nice garden and pool I imagine it comes pre-furnished or not? Down the street from me similar style building they have put a cafe I am surprised this one doesn't have one. Not finished for a while yet and they are selling the units not renting. Say hello to Summer from us :) Happy Easter to you both and family and friends and colleagues at LH :)
This is just a normal new apartment in Australia. Half the cost for rent….with Gold Coast beaches and views.
Lovely, but enormously expensive
The saying “A fool and his money are easily parted” springs to mind
Successful wealthy people are not fools, it's the poor people who can't afford it and complain giving negative comments
Yaaaaaayyyyy the theme song is BACK!🤣🤣🤣🤣
I like best in Canary Wharf business district.
I was just thinking that the ones who can afford to live in such a place are probably not going to take advantage of the communal spaces, let alone the roof terrace and pool. They either don't have time for that because they work their arse off or because they go to places where they are served
You're ok. I'll stick to my 1 bedroom apartment, with better amenities, in Thailand for £175 per month.
It should be crazy feelings to pay 4K to live in cage where you hardly can breathe
Better off saving up for a deposit towards a place bit further out & commute!
What are these people talking about? This place is a very nice size for the price. I could definitely live there.
so for 4 grand a month, you can pay to live in a luxury matchbox
So just to clarify: For twenty times less money per night you can live in luxury with gorgeous sea views with perfect weather and your own entrance to the beach. If you're in South Africa. For 200 times less money you can live within walking distance to a beach with the best weather in the world, some of the most beautiful hiking trails along a gorgeous coastline, a deli within 30 second walking distance that has the chef who created the main actress from harry potter favourite banana chocolate muffins and kombucha plus 5 star ready made meals. A pizza restaurant also within 30 seconds walking distance with New York style pizza. And here we are for 4000 pounds you can go play video games in a mediocre apartment with no space looking out at a concrete jungle with shit weather. Ha! I don't think 40 billion pounds could get you anything in England.

Professionals that make good money can make poor budgeting decisions. Professionals that make over £120k know how to balance their accounts.
People who make 120k/year have enough sense to cap their rent cost at £2500 MAX! To spend £3,200/month on rent you’d need to make £160k a year. People making that kind of salary would not live in this shoebox.
The only tenants paying that for these flats would be foreign students.
5-7 years ago I used to see homeless people occasionally. They were often high or drunk. These days I see about a dozen just going from my flat to the shop at any given time. I see people in sleeping bags reading books and typing documents on laptops! This video explains why! A flat that should be affordable to a mid-late 20s professional earning 60-70k is priced for 40 year old executive salary who would never actually live in it.
That isn’t luxury. It’s lipstick on a pig!
They look great but feel the bedrooms are a bit small. Fantastic location but the downpoint is that they have built literally thousands of apartments along the road and it won’t be long until it turns into a place to dump the newcomers to this country 😏

Go to that apartment complex and knock on every door and ask every tennent. You will have your answer
Short answer, no. It's just crazy to have 120k income and nothing to show for it. Better to live in a far out shed for a couple of years and then have 200k£ invested instead of donating that to the investment bank that built the grossly overpriced building.
