  • 1920's Morgan JAP powered 3 wheeler. A Vintage Classic machine.
This fine machine is owned by Gordon. He does not claim it to be the most beautiful Morgan in the World, but so far it is the most beautiful one I have ever seen and heard. Rumour has it that he cleans it with cotton buds, perhaps a rumour started by scurrilous members of the Club ...
Thanks for watching. My family have been riding motorcycles since 1899 and in these short films I hope to share my passion for all sorts of related ancient, wheeled wonders.
I am new at CZcams, so these are not slick highly edited films, just me enthusing about fine machines and sometimes the eccentric characters of the past and present.
I regularly ride my grandfather Thomas’s 1911 Triumph. He bought it new in December 1911. He was a Triumph dealer from 1906 and sold other makes and had a shop that repaired and sold motorcycle and cycles. My father started working at his shop prewar and started riding in the 1930’s. He joined the RAF within an hour of war being declared and when he returned home had a succession of fine machines - SS100, Speedtwin, Thunderbird and Tiger 110. I started riding bikes around the garden as a kid. By 12 years old, I had an NSU Quickly (no it wasn’t) that I tortured in the local woods. These woods (near Camberley, UK) were the site of the World’s very first Scramble/Motocross in 1924 - so unknowingly I was riding on “hallowed ground”!
When I was 17, I blew/wisely spent all my money on a Ducati Pantah and have been riding bikes ever since. All types and makes - but I do love a grunty V twin. It took me 35 years to hunt down and bring my grandfathers 1911 Triumph back into the family. That set me off on the most enjoyable adventure of riding, restoring, fettling, researching, and writing about ancient motorcycles and related wonders. I have created many web pages and articles and so have decided I should have a go at making these short films. I do use old bikes as they were used when they were new. At Brighton Speed Trials a few years ago, I set an outright world speed record for pre-WW1 motorcycles.
When I first got into old bikes, I was very taken with all the fantastic eccentric characters and now I think I am becoming one!
If you ride motorcycles, to have an adventure, then explore and get a really old one as every ride is an adventure and you will be welcomed in to a very friendly, helpful, and eccentric community.
