- 1932 Morgan Three-Wheeler. The oldest continuous British automobile manufacturer, the Morgan Motor Company was founded in 1909 by H.F.S. Morgan. A trained engineer, Morgan opened a garage business out of which he also sold cars and started one of England's first bus lines. After purchasing an early three-wheeled vehicle, Morgan decided to build one for personal use, with economy and speed as his ultimate goals.

One of my oldest friends, Laurie Ball (an Aussie like me) had one of these in WWII when he was a navigator on a Lancaster Bomber in the UK. He said the Lanc was fun to fly in, but the Morgan three wheeler was closer to heaven. A brave man and greatly missed. Thanks Jay!
Sean Coyne my great uncle was in a Lancaster, he was actually on the raid that bombed the tirpitz, on his 27th mission, his Lancaster caught fire over Holland, he was a rear gunner so he didn't get out in time. He's currently in Holland somewhere, the funny thing is that they spelled the last name wrong on the memorial.
Sean Coyne he was 19
How the hell does one spell '' Sean Coyne '' anyways :-P ?
@@RegulareoldNorseBoy With a silent 'L'.
The fact that Jay finds these vehicles, saves and restores them, then shares them with us over the internet shows what a kindhearted person he is. Hes is truly to be admired.
Bob Moore exactly
I happened to find this site by accident, and didn't realize until today, just how nice Mr Leno is. Ive never actually watched his show and never thought that he had a life beyond showbiz. Im glad that he has such a collection of important things, because engineering and the motor industry is such an important thing in todays throwaway world. Good luck to him, may he live long and prosper.
I love the rear end design of this old Morgan, especially with the integrated spare wheel 🙂
My grandpa had one of those 9 that came to Australia but he had the only one that was raced in a Grand Prix in Point Cook near Melbourne. He tells me it is the most fun car he ever had and regrets selling it everyday.
"The nice thing is, you have an accident, they just bury you in the whole car."
Good one, Jay - LMAO!
Thanks for that Jay. My Dad had a 1938 Super Sports 3 wheeler with the Matchless air cooled 1000cc engine. Same body style as your 32 model. Said it was the most exciting car he ever owned. Being a motorcycle racer and tuner in the 40s he'd managed to get about 90 hp out of the engine. They used to race these in motorcycle and sidecar events, carrying a passenger to hang off when necessary. Apparently the very top racing model had a Blackburn engine which I heard put out 130 hp, but that may be hearsay. Anyway, my Dad had to sell his and buy a lowly Austin 7when I came along in 1949. I don't think he ever forgave me.
In the UK a three wheeled vehicle is classed as motor bike & sidecar. Jays knowledge of vehicles and knowledge of the period and how the cars were viewed at the time they were made is phenomenal. It is clear he enjoys driving the old cars that you "feel" the machine and the road simultaneously.
This car ws restored by the Beers family in Canada. I saw it in Washington DC when it won a trophy at the national Morgan meet in the 1980s.
We still dabble in the odd 3 wheeler here and there lol. Thanks for the credit 👍
Jay leno"s Garage is the best show on CZcams No other show comes close to the amount of content that he puts out with each one of his episodes. Its not just about the cars, its also about the amazing people that are behind the making of these works of art and amazing machinery, and the history of it all, and he grasps each and everyone of those points every time. Great Series Jay, keep up the Great work. I just wanted to let you know all of us enjoy your work and this hobby, thanks for sharing!
Back when cars had real character. I got to see one of these in a farm shed in rural Australia alongside other old classics and a fully restored 1908 Stoewer. Awesome to see people keeping these cars alive👍
That looks like an absolute blast to drive.. Thanks Jay.
This video is old, but still love seeing these.
I like these videos because it reminds me of taking long trips with my dad as a kid. He spends more time talking to you than he does paying attention to the road. Then you are in constant fear of him getting into an accident. Good times, good times.
It would be fun just to watch Jay riding around town in his cars with a big smile on his face. Such a sight would certainly make me happy, too!
What a lovable and charming old thing.
Morgan not bad either!
When I first started watching motorbike racing, back in the 60's in Britain, Morgan three wheelers used to compete in the same races as the sidecars
A guy in Massachusetts that I bought my Spitfire from, used to restore and race these and Morgan cars. I remember a picture of him and his passenger up on two wheels, taken just before they rolled. Very interesting guy.
Jay Lenos Garage is what American Top Gear should have been.
+juntistik Yes, And it doesn't have Jeremy Clarkson braying on about how lousy every American car since the Model A has been which puts it ahead of British Top Gear as well. I don’t think Jay would punch anyone for not having a steak for him either.
Hey! Clarkson knocks! British cars also!....for him only german cars!
Alan Thomas Clarkson is an equal opportunist, he even knocks some German cars too.
Is that why he hates Porsche so much...
"you don't need a tach, you can just look out and watch it"...Jay, you're too funny.
I love Jay. He is the greatest advertisement for America. he always manages to make me laugh and smile. Brilliant....!!!
Chubby dude in a tiny car
Making friends both near and far
In this town he's a shooting star
He's a chubby dude in a tiny car
From Shelbyville to Zanzabar
It doesn't matter where you are
There's not a thing that can compare
To a chubby dude in a tiny car
I never was a fan of his version of the Tonight Show...However I love watching the clips he uploads about his automobiles. He really knows and loves cars.
This is awesome. I have been there once and really enjoyed it. I wish I could go again and BBQ some baby back ribs and hang out at the garage. Being a mechanic for over 30 years his garage is like 'fantasy land.' Jay and his garage are awesome.
I've always wondered what these sound and drive like and now I know. Thanks Jay! :)
'They just bury you in the whole car'
Thanks for the smile
wow, i'm actually impressed with the audio quality considering the amount of wind, props to the sound guy.
I just love this car. My dad had 3 trikes: a red '36 Beetleback SS, a BRG '51 2-place barrelback, and a blue '51 4-place barrelback. I loved those cars - as well as the 4-wheel Morgans which dad was a dealer for in the 1950s. I myself own a '54 2-place +4. Bob Oker drove dad's '54 Morgan to a number of wins. Dad brought the first AC Bristol into the USA in '56 and Bob went on to win many races with that...
This is so cool. Thanks Jay! He has an amazing collection and the cool thing that he does is that he shares it!
I love the old 3 wheelers, they are the most beautiful and romantic cars out there. Gorgeous. This one sounds just like a 60 yr old lawnmower that is really low on compression
Such a thorough and humourous showcase. Having experience with a car really shows.
Nothing like a Morgan...Thanks Jay
Beautiful car, err, motorcycle, err, vehicle (yeah, let's go with vehicle.) I read somewhere that Mr. Morris was racing these in club races in England and got banned. Not because it was a motorcycle, but because the cars in the class couldn't beat it. A lot of cars in the 1930s couldn't go 60 mph, much 80. Thanks Jay for keeping it on the road.
Can't beat the sound of that
Thank you sir, a long day at work and I was going to just rest when I got back to my place but after seeing your excitement about driving and riding it has put me in the mood to exercise my motorcycle too 👊🏻
Such a fantastic little car. Thanks Jay, as always, for these reviews. Your self-deprecating humor only adds to the entertainment.
the sound is glorious
Watching your clips I know why you can't invite normal people to your garage. Every motorhead would die seeing all those incredible vehicles. but they would die happy! Love it!
its new years and you give us a beautiful old Morgan!!
It seems that the simpler the car the more exciting it is to listen to J. thanks
'Snoopy vs the Red Baron' sprung to mind, seeing Jay in that thing.
From one Boston guy to another, thank you for all the fun videos!
Thanks for posting this Jay!
Thank you Jay.. wonderful piece of history
Thank You!
thanks again for these great uploads
Great to see! Jay Leno is an enthusiast to the core - top man!
He was really on with the jokes in this one. I especially liked his first; "You've heard of the smart car? this is the dumb car".. and he was right that rag top looks totally stupid! How about his last, if you have an accident they just lower the whole thing into the ground".. And the way that back end hops around? This is the funniest video he's made.
I thought the exact same thing! He just kept em rolling one after the other XD
Jay, you should really host Top Gear America once your show ends. Seems like it'd be a good post-retirement career.
I own one for over 22 years, still have fun each time I drive in it.
A great start to a new year
He did !!! It 's amazing .
Jay, Thanks so much for putting this up. My cousin John Leavens would be very proud to see what you have sone with the car. He certainly loved his.
Flying a world war 1 aeroplane, perfect description! Looks a lot of fun.
Looks like a lot of fun. And Morgan is producing the three wheeler again, i believe with a 1.7 liter v-twin.
It looks like the most fun car that I would never want to own. Great episode.
Great sound.
Ohhhh my, how I'd love one of these!
You are fantastic, Love your show!
Ty Jay ! Great ride
Jay looks like the cad from an Agatha Christie murder-mystery in that car. The Morgan three-wheeler is the perfect embodiment of old England. I love the Brough Superior connection with the engine and what a beautiful noise! I've owned a few V-twin motorcycles and I know what Jay means by the machine gun sound of the motor when you gun it. Lots of more powerful vehicles in Jay's Garage, but none more charming. Bravo!
Its a matchless engine, brough merely bought in engines.. Though the rarer and more desirablenMontgomery mc,I've heard made their own, though I wouldnt stake my life on it
Jay, you are the best !
Great programme!
Awesome vehicle!
Really great video.
Loved the story of the speed gun. Hilarious!
J your show is so much fun !!
Brilliant! Thanks for sharing! ;)
I love the Morgan. You done a excellent job making this video. I like how you take your collection out and drive them.
Love this video. Funky, and funny all in one. Nice job Jay and crew.
Great video. Love to hear Jay's knowledge and enthusiasm.
Outstanding! Happy New Year!
One of the only classic cars I really, really love.
Pretty paint job. Classy complimentary colors. Much nicer than the one Hammond drove.
Thanks for this. I always wanted to know more about the three wheel Morgans.
Your videos are a true pleasure. You eventually deserve 100 fold more views.
When I was looking for a Morgan after I got out of the Army in 1969, I went to Sutton & Widdefield in West LA. They had several 3 wheelers out back and said that, if I wanted to test drive one, I’d have to crank it myself. Some USC football player came in and cranked it pushing down rather than pulling up. The car reversed cycle and the crank went back and broke the guy’s arm. I ended up buying a 4/4. LOL
Another great video!
thanks Jay cool cord , ,,my dad had one in toppenish wa when he was teen ager think it was1937 ,before he went to war, i have 1987 caddi allante way fun to drive thanks for sharring your cars. God bless
turned around and went back to argue with a cop that he deserved a ticket hahahha awesome
great little car, Jay is like a big kid i love it.
Mr Leno comes over as a really nice man.
Another good one Jay!
Looks like a fun ride, something I would like to drive on a curvy road up here.
Jay i watch these vids reguarly I gotta so you have the BEST car collection ive ever seen!
Awesome!!!
Wacky and wonderful ride! Thanks Jay!
beautiful car
You're my frikkin hero, Jay. Greetings from Georgetown, MA.
I think allMorgans are good looking this is definitely one of them ! i love the “Proper” Dash with the big Smith Guage for some strange reason Smith has always built my favorite style and looking Gauges , Simplistic and easy to read font and color contrast plus Quality looking
Great piece. Really impressive the depth of knowledge Jay has on these rare cars.
I totally agree with you and he's a gentleman.
Saw one of these going down hwy 90 in deep west Texas a few years ago, Never knew what it was till now. Thanks.
Absolutely brilliant. Look at how much fun he's having! Lol
wonderfull idea!
Looks fun.
i don't know what it is i learnt from jay, but i learnt something.
Jay has more fun with vehicles than anybody!
And now let's see Jay review the new Morgan Threewheeler.
Blows the old one away. 1990cc, 80bhp (at wheel), 115mph and 0-60 in 4.5
Great Video!
I didn't look at the title, and thought Jay was doing a review of the new one. Nope! This is Jay Leno, what was I thinking? Of course he'd have the original!
love the engine sound
thanks
Watching your videos has inspired me to fix up my 66 bridgestone 90 sport motorcycle I had it running a few years ago and its so much fun 10hp at 9k rpm 88cc two stroke its sounds so badass and will cruise nice at 55 with the 4 speed cyclical trani you can just keep kicking down or up through all the gears and neutral has its own position instead of being between 1st and 2nd the bike had 1998 miles on it when I got it and still has the original front tire the back tire was on it but I changed it and someone threw away the old one it should be in a museum it will run again if its the last thing I do
