    👨 ABOUT THE CHANNEL:
    Hi I'm Shaun Jones. I am a personal trainer, gym owner & martial arts enthusiast. I started lifting weights so I could add more size and strength to my frame to help with the grappling aspect of fighting. I then developed a passion for strength training and coaching others to do the same. I now upload daily content to this youtube channel to help educate others on martial arts, self defense, awareness, fitness & overall provide social commentary in hope I can help a few people who need it. Thanks for supporting the channel.

      When I used to spar smaller guys in boxing as a hw even accidentally jabbing too hard and connecting would often rock them.

    If Volkov was quicker, he would have been champion already. This spar is two "not slow" guys fighting. First time seeing Volkov fight, I was wondering what it is, then realized he just isn´t "fast" fast. Eddie is the same way. Both look like a "fast" guy going 80%. I remember the genetic testing Ed had done, and they told him the usual alleles, and when it comes to explosivity, mostly the ACTN3 production/trait.
    He had XR, which is one "good", one dysfunctional(all a part of the usual within populations), which is a semi-fast basis as far as ACTN3 production, where you do not have as much as the 20-30% worldwide that has RR. Seeing Joe Joyce, "he is also definitely" XR, which is why he is not quite up to beating the very top guys, and why Zhang beat him to a pulp, and in basically every exchange.

    • @lel1433
      @lel1433 Před 13 dny

      so many people blow actn3 out of proportion, unless its an exclusively speed based sport like sprinting, basketball, american football, hurdles etc etc you cannot tell if someone is T/T C/T OR C/C genotype in regards to ACTN3. Its main effect is tensioning the muscles for more force production, by decreasing muscle tone in its resting state, and sure being actn3 c/c or r/r does shift your muscle fibers to be more fast twitch, that difference is in the 0.0x seconds in olympic sprinting. The reality is that theres hundreds of genes that affect fast to slow twitch muscle ratio, actn3 being one of them
      At the highest echelons of speed based sports, being actn3 c/c or r/r is absolutely vital to be able to compete with the best, SURE. But its in sports like MMA or boxing, actn3 is not as vital as ud think. In fact, being t/t can be of an advantage since boxing and MMA are a match of styles.
      Studies done in combat athletes of the highest caliber show that r/x is the most selected genotype, dispelling anything you just said.
      + eddie hall is not r/x, according to the mundo genetic testing report he is, surprisingly X/X or T/T, completely dysfunctional actn3.
