    Hey everyone, if you’re looking for a laser engraver that pretty much can engrave everything, then this might be the machine for you. It’s super powerful and with the right accessories can engrave everything from small to large to wood to metal. I hope you all enjoy and I’ll see you all in the next one!

      Hi, everyone, I remember that this machine stops automatically when the lid is opened, and I wonder how he got a close-up shot. Like 14:46, that's pretty cool. Can someone tell me? Thank you.

      @@purejade4298 The shot is green. He obviously filmed through the lid. If you can't figure that out, maybe a laser isn't right for you.

    Question, I have the S1 with the 40w. I just ordered the 2W 1064 nm infared module. Will the S1 eye protection lid still keep my eyes safe?

    Great informative review 👍I notice that the design on the connectors should be better,if you change toolhead somewhat often,they wont last for long.And also a quick release on the toolhead and not two screws.I have a F1 from xtools and was also thinking about this one,but has backed out.I am finding Xtools a bit shady in the after sales service department....and also the overall quality of their products are bit so and so.Snapmaker Ray looks like something that can compete with the S1,it does not have auto focus.But a great big enclosure,bigger work area and basically unlimited height .Thank you for the review and have a great christmas and happy new year 🎅🥳🥂

    I had laser engrawer 5w diode, it was nice toy but everything take a hours. Now i have 60w co2 laser and im happy. Lase like this one is goid for someone who want nice smooth machine in apartment. My laser is 5 times bigger so ;p diode lasers is better to engrave than co2, but in cutting co2 will be better.

    Some of the videos I watched used the dual point positioning. Where it created box the size of the material and you could position your project inside the box. Was there a reason you didn't use it?

    Thanks a ton. How does the IR laser do with acrylic? Can it cut and engrave all colors of acrylic?

    How long should the 40w laser last before you need to replace?
    Is there an hour amount it lasts?

    • @ArtByAdrock
      @ArtByAdrock  Před 4 měsíci

      They are rated at 100,000 hours so you would be fine for a very long time 👍🏻

    shame we can't have a 40W IR module. If that happened I would be first on the shopping list.

      I’m sure they will down the road. In the meantime check out the Monport fiber laser review as it’s a 60W IR laser which is super powerful 👍🏻

    Is it 40W electrical or optical?

    • @ArtByAdrock
      @ArtByAdrock  Před 5 měsíci

      Optical. I had it cut through 17mm wood pretty easily

    I think the concept of the S1 and it's features is excellent but....The positioning system is probably one of the worst I have seen and nothing like it is described in the sales pitch. Unless you weren't doing it properly. How is that going to work when batching things out?
    Their previous camera system dealt with that quite well but this looks like you would waste a load of time setting it up.
    I didn't hear you mention what thickness Ply you were cutting, looked like 3mm. A 40W laser set at 100% power with a speed of only 8mms! And it only cut pretty well? I have a 20w that cuts through 3mm Ply easily at10mms so somethings not right there.
    Swapping out laser heads looks like a time consuming and fiddly exercise and a productivity killer depending on your workflow. When you engraved the ring you said it looked pretty good. I would be less than impressed if it turned out anything less than VERY good for that sort of money.
    You mentioned the shortcomings of the honeycomb tray and Xtool are not alone in that failure. I haven't found a company yet that supplies the correct size honeycomb to make maximum use of area. It's actually quite embarrassing to spend so much on production and not consider it important. In essence it also means that claims of actual useable area are exaggerated.
    The filtration system appears to be a massive fail. It isn't cheap, it's expensive and doesn't work properly. I have no experience of filtering indoors as I exhaust outside but I have seen reviews of other similarly priced filters that actually work. If the Xtool can't cope with good extraction and filtration when the flaps are closed, I hate to think how bad it's going to be when the flaps are open.
    All in all I'm very disappointed. When I read the specs and the claims on the website for the S1 I really wanted it to live up to those claims and stick my name down for one. Right now I'm not going to risk that outlay until they have dealt with all of the above issues. But I expect that they won't be dealt with because the M1 suffers from many of the same issues. It's a real shame because it could have been excellent and for that sort of money for a diode, it should be perfect.
