I had a stroke in march this year and I found this really helpful. A lot of fear is generated just through ignorance about the condition and its really easy to let everything overpower you. You can come out of these things with a better understanding of yourself and vids like these really help. Good stuff man, keep it coming.

Patients always think that the bleeding associated with a hemorrhagic stroke is the reason that dysfuncion occurs when the real reason is the downstream circulation is decreased.

@starward Recovery after stroke can be very difficult. In terms of best chances of recovery this depends on what part and how much of the brain has been damaged. This depends on what blood vessel was affected. The Bamford classification of stroke is widely used to determine prognosis. Btw. lowering the BP too quickly can be very dangerous post-haemmorhagic stroke (due to cerebral autoregulation) and can lead to further ischaemia.

Fascinating. I would like to know (in your future video) which type of stroke is easier to recover from, or is easier for doctors to take control of. I would think, either way, it is vital to take care of within minutes and would guess that a hemorrhagic stroke would be easier to deal with by releasing pressure to the brain by stopping the bleeding and removing the excess blood.
@spazzmonster Bleeding does cause dysfunction. A haemmorhagic stroke exerts its effects through rupture of the involved blood vessel thereby depriving tissue of nutrients and oxygen (causing necrosis- which is the consequence of infarction). The presence of blood in the brain acts as space occupying lesion and directly compresses brain tissue (and other blood vessels) causing further damage. Hope that explains.

im abit scared at the moment because 2 weeks ago i had an accident and fell of my bike,i might of formed a blood clot as the result of this accident,which is unfair because im usually a healthy person who keeps myself healthy,eats good food and exercises.i heard that blood clots can cause strokes,i want to know can u still have a stroke if the blood clots in the leg? im only 37 years old so i hope my body will take it,and im having injections to thin myblood.
Unfortunately yes, but chances of it traveling if you already took steps to get in and seen and get blood thinners are minimal. More than likely it would destroy it if you had one, but best bet is by a physician that can take images of where they believe the clot to be. But chances are you probably didn't even form a clot, it generally happens with high cholesterol, and blood pathogen issues including heart disease, Afib etc.
