The CT is as you mentioned a really versatile tire.
I wonder how much of that tire hop on the Deep Woods is that insert...
I have really soft 3D inserts in my Louise Champs and they are a lovely tire!
However, a cut & shut CT is hard to beat...

Yes, could be the insert. The insert plays a massive part in the performance of a tyre and I've made every effort to ensure that the insert used is the best that I have to suit each tyre. That said, I'm sure that there could be a better insert out there. I still like this tyre, I think it is a very good budget option. On the flip side I feel like the Canyon Trail doesn't get the credit it deserves. It's a very, very good tyre, at least on my course!
