HEY. Ecstatic to announce I'm the new brand ambassador for AceZone! You may recognize the headsets with the little green lights on stage at every big CS:GO event, that's AceZone! Thinking this a perfect fit for the channel so make sure to support them and watch the video to understand why the A-Spire's are a great fit for at-home-use.
Lots of content queued up because of this new partnership so I'm really happy to be able to invest more into the channel and AceZone only want me to do exactly what I'm doing already so the only thing that will change is more videos!

If you guys ever want to try some actual good headphones for gaming, seriously, let me know. I can point you towards every single high end headphone that is ACTUALLY good for gaming (HD800s doesn't even come close to top 10 imo). Would be worthwhile to reverse engineer some of the best and fine tune them for gaming. Tuning and isolation only get you so far, technicalities matter, and planars absolutely stomp dynamics for gaming (with Audeze being the exception, they don't actually have any good gaming headphone, regardless of price).

@@mislav2002 It certainly make a difference when you buy out of the box. This is why people buy certain audiophile headphones over others. Some enjoy more pronounced bass, some want them for gaming and get things with good imaging and soundstage. The latter is kind of ambiguous though.. how do we define and test things like soundstage? Ultimately all these things come down to frequencies since thats how our ear/brain interpret sound. Changing the FRs in an EQ software literally makes headphones sound 1 to 1 the same if you have the same target. Components dont override FRs when you EQ them to be the same. So you might be wondering why people even bother buying different headphones etc. Bascially it just comes down to the actual physical headphone ie is it comfortable, do you like how it looks, is there ANC, open back or closed. The sound aspect of it in a normal environment can always be attributed to FRs which can always be changed with EQ to sound the same or different. If you want really detailed explanations of all this look up oritory1990 or harman target and dive deeper.

I see you have a pair yourself (beyerdynamics?). I use Sennheiser HD660S myself. I feel like a lot of people are taking the wrong approach to this at home and getting products like this (gaming headsets) because they don't know any better. If they can afford it and also enjoy music they should just get really good headphones and decent desk mic and have waaaaay better imaging, soundstage etc for gaming. Also not sure if your aware of oritory1990 but it EQs all listed headphones to the harman target. @chrisevans6293 Před rokem +1

@@launders All the characteristics a headphones/headset can have over another (better or worse imaging, soundstage, resolution of lows mids highs etc) comes down to the frequency response though. When you change the frequency response at each hz interval in software to the same thing, your brain will not be able to the tell the difference between 2 entirely different headphones EQ'd to the same FR's at each level. Soundstage will appear the same, imaging will appear the same. Therefore the footsteps will be the same too. Hobbyists of headphones get duped by this as well. They collect and buy headphones that have good X or Y, then buy a different pair for another reason. I think this is fine if you dont want to EQ. But if you are going to take advantage than you really only need one pair. And if your going to have one pair I'd personally rather have an open back so my head/ears can breath and have something that has lots of data on different EQs so I can change it for music or CS or whatever, which only audiophile headphones fit all this criteria.

But isn’t the sound of these quite irrelevant for the pros? I thought they use inears for the ingame audio

Ye, they only use these for ANC and the mic. The footstep boosting can be achieved for free with EQ

Volvo, fix footstep sounds. So don't have to buy stuff like this to be able to hear stuff. Volvo promoting pay to win?

£699 for some headsets with some slight better footsteps hearing like really?

    • @launders

the A-rise headphones are for LAN environments. not necessary unless you are playing for money lets say. in which case they pay for themselves when you hear footsteps early :-)
