    I've been watching pro poker for 30 years. One common theme: you don't see anyone after three or four years, and the ones that you DO see are making more money off of endorsements and they often are not even playing with their own money.
    Fuck all of these high rollers. Seriously.

    • @Ihave10billionsubs
      @Ihave10billionsubs Před 26 dny

      Here's how it works. The poker "pros" bink a large score or two in some major tournaments. All the sudden they think they are good and use their new found bankroll to play tons of other tournaments over the next few years. Most end up having a downward trending graph, while some may get lucky and continue to bink a few more scores. But most will fade away once they start to realize it's mostly luck. The ones with good personalities end up getting endorsements and usually have their buy ins paid for. That's what sustains them through their "career" - not their "awesome" poker skills. So any wins they have are pure profit, vs the ones thar have to use their own money. The entire industry is a scam because the idea keeps getting propagated that if you're a poker "genius" you can make millions on the tournament circuit. Although there is a basic amount of skill needed to stand a chance at those big scores, sorry there's just too much luck for anyone to win consistently.
      Don't get me wrong - I love poker and love playing tournaments as a hobby, but that's all it is and ever will be. I know better than to throw my whole career away to try and become "pro".

    I hate the word "hater". I don't think Ethan has haters as much as he has critics. I think generally those who are watching him play and making criticisms are doing it with his best interests in mind. If he has lucked himself into a bankroll rather than blow it all off in more nosebleed sessions I think most commenters are recommending he drop to low stakes where his CZcams channel probably earns enough money to continue playing so he can keep providing content and allow him to continue earning his revenue stream, and to take the couple hundred grand he's lucked into and invest it into a legit businees before he blows it. I don't think most people hate Ethan the person - he's a nice kid. But he has major flaws in his game, and not only does he have flaws but the world can study his game from his vlogs and exploit him relentlessly. I think most people are just trying to implore him to take a low risk route before he gets himself into big trouble.

    I don't understand the feigned outrage here. It's not his fans who initiated this situation, and Alex is merely leveraging his name for clickbait. Yes, Rampages is experiencing a significant downturn, and yes, he's soliciting money, but how is this considered news in the Poker world? Players engage in this behavior routinely; there are platforms specifically designed for such requests, so there's nothing novel or scandalous about it. In fact, I've done it myself, as have my friends.
    He's not asking for people's life savings he's merely inviting others to join him on the ride and he's been remarkably candid about his financial struggles and the efforts he's making. Some individuals seem to revel in tearing others down.
