Hi Sophie! Glad you will get to see your family this month! My suggestions for San Francisco are Alcatraz Tour and walking across the Golden Gate Bridge! Safe travels!!
I also would recommend Alcatraz. I see there are some evening tours now - that would be very atmospheric!
I’ve been to Alcatraz twice now so I don’t think I’ll go again ( I have the vlogs private, it’s so hard to watch back from 5 years ago😂) I think I might do the bridge this time ☺️

Options for your layover time in Durban : oribi gorge is a must! It is about 2 hours' drive from Durban, but there is so much to do. The suspension bridge is so cool. It's summer here in south africa, so swimming with marine life @ uShaka marine world is awesome. Durban botanic gardens is also an option. Paradise valley (nature reserve) has a trail with a waterfall.

When I overnight in SFO, I always go downtown Burlingame! its very close to the hotels- There is a "downtown Burlingame" shuttle that stops at the hotel center at SFO and its free, ask the front desk how often it runs. Anyway downtown Burlingame is super cute with tons of cool shops and cafes. Definitely check it out if you haven't. Safe travels!

And also, what type of service do you usually do on turnaround flights specially those hour long flights. Is the load usually full on those flight? I can’t imagine how rushed you could all be specially since you use a wide-bodied aircraft on short flights.
We have a full service, it’s not hot food but you get a full meal even on short flights ☺️ we do run around like headless chickens 😂
if you can leave the city in Durban there are day trips to like Drakensberg mountains with incredible views

I have an idea for your vlogs. Everytime you try out something new or old, you give good feedbacks and you're very honest about it. I think you could give us feedbacks on the foods you try even if it's something new or old, it will give us something more to talk about in the comments too. For gadgets and accessories(bags, shoes, etc) you do it so well and we love it. It's just my suggestion though, don't know if it's okay for you but please think it through. Hi Sophie,if there’s a few of you I highly recommend renting a car and driving part of highway 1 of the Pacific Highway.The scenery is awesome and there’s lots of opportunities to stop.Highlights being Monterrey,Carmel,The California Sea otter State Game refuge,Slates Hot Springs and much more.

I used to live in the SF bay area and I worked in the financial district. So many things you can do on your layover. I don't recommend Fisherman's wharf and Napa due to very expensive food.
(1) Palace of Fine Arts
(2) Twin Peaks
(3) Chinatown, Japantown, the avenues

This seems like a wonderful month to switch off and catch up with your family. At least it's a short month and some fantastic locations. As you said about not showing us much off your UK layovers why not fill those gaps with showing us around the marine. You could also do a day in the life and make it like 24mins to show us what life is like for you especially on the turnaround flights
I think I’m going to do a few day in the life’s an show a little more of Dubai an what I actually do when I’m in duabi. Realised that part of my life I don’t really show ☺️

I’m not 100% sure, some US airlines don’t give rosters like we do ☺️

Does it ever happen you can be on a location more than 24 or 48 hours? Like you have at least three days to explore? Cause it doesn't seem like you get to see much of the places you go to in this way or am I wrong? Which for a lot of people is a big motivation to want to this job as you get to explore the world.. seems like with the emirates its all just 24h max 48h in one place?
Sometimes you do, but most of Europe etc is 24 unless they don’t have a flight every day. It depends on you as a person if you go out and explore. Sometimes I do an sometimes I don’t. You just have to listen to your body ☺️

I wonder that during the training as cabin crew of Emirates . We have to wear a read polo T-shirt.
However, I have a long scar in the arm.
So if people see that scar , this could cause trouble for me .
And can I wear something in my arm to hide that scar.
You have to declare any scars you have before joining during the hiring process. they will look at it an go from their
