Isn't Jerry the most coolest guy ever? He jams with bands like Pearl Jam and also, Metallica! Such a complete guitarrist!
He was super tight with the pantera members too, basically everybody fucks with Jerry Cantrell, absolute legend and one of the best songwriters ever. He played with ozzy as well and then mike bordin from faith no more did drums for his album degradation trip and trujillo did bass. Definitely a super well respected guy from his peers

Jerry Cantrell is an American music legend...his song writing alone is brilliant...added to his musicianship...AIC are Hall of Famers in my book...Everyone from Phil Anselmo too Metallica...even Elton John has performed with AIC/Cantrell (LP)...

He's a musician's musician. Most musicians will know who he is and respect him, but the average person on the street will not.

some of you might recall that Robert Trujillo played on Jerry's Degradation Trip solo disc about 10 years ago, so those 2 would have known each other pretty well. Also saw Cantrell open for Metallica way back in 1998...
what else can you say, its cool to see them all on stage together even if it is one of the easiest songs to play.
Trujillo and Cantrell go way back. Suicidal Tendencies and AIC toured with Pantera in 92 I think and it was at that time that Robert said to Jerry that if he wanted to jam to give him a call. Jerry remembered that when he couldn't get Inez to play bass on Deg Trip.

Jerry/Rob reunion is always nice to see, Rob played bass on all 25 tracks off Jerry’s masterpiece degradation trip vol 1&2 double record. Jerry and Metallica been friends for ages so it’s always cool to see when they perform together

They're old friends. I was at a Metallica and Alice in Chains concert once, except AiC never came, trouble with Layne I guess. That was Stockholm back in... 92 or 93, had to travel for hours and hours. Went mostly for AiC so that sucked.

Listen Lars haters nobody, not Lars or Lars fans have ever labeled him the best technically, however there aren't to many with his passion, who beats his drums with that much hate! Love! Anger! And passion!! Especially in his early days! Have you seen Harvester of sorrow in Moscow, I believe it was 1991?! Just beats those things clenching his teeth! Love it! I'd rather have someone like that than someone who is technically better but whose expression hardly changes or you can't see the Anger and passion...!!

Check out the bass guitar and what it has written on it . Mike Starr made fun of em,God he was a good bassist also. RIP Mike, and Cliff

When he says "Its the last time you will!" and the delay echos "will, will, will..." you can hear in the echo speed the tempo Lars is supposed to be playing.
This is a Degradation Trip renuion in a way. Robert played bass for Jerry's solo album.
One of the best Metallica songs... stuttered but ruthless pacing, Edgar Alan Poe styled lyrics, harmony, solos, it crunches like a well-timed upper-cut. Alotta fun.

People forget that AIC was closer to being a metal band than a grunge band. Dirt was heavy... even Sabbath inspired. His solo album Degradation Trip was pretty heavy and of course he did collaborate with Dime and Damageplan for Ashes to Ashes.
New aic riffs are heavier than new metallicas
You should really revisit AiC's first three albums and Jerry's two solo albums. AiC were not a lounge music band. Jerry is the riff master :)

Brandon K Degradation Trip (Jerry's second solo album) was a heavy album. Mike Bordin of Faith No More on drums and Robert Trujillo on bass (both were then Ozzy's rhythm section)
