In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). The "STOP BEING NICE" is still one of the best moments in the show's history
I would describe that as a “humble opinion”
I'd argue the single best moment was the 'I knew you wouldn't let me down Victoria' that came straight after. Just the fact she genuinely thought she was being nice makes it so much better. Maybe you gotta be a football fan to fully appreciate that.
@@CallhouseNah, Victoria knew exactly what she was doing. It was obvious especially when she said something like "I thought you'd want to see the winning side for once." Absolutely played into what the Taskmaster wanted, intentionally sacrificing points for comedic effect.
@Chris T I'm always baffled by people who think she was being an idiot - she's very bright, she knows Alan well, it was a good joke, and she already said she based her jokes on either funny puns or outright comedy because she wasn't really a comedian like the others and felt it was the only way to match the others so there's zero reason to think she was playing it straight (aside from taking Greg at his word when he's also having fun) 🤷🏽♀️

If you ever are looking for a perfect example of 'stunned silence' it's the moment right after Lolly announces she's sitting on 2 grand.

"hip hip beret" was such a perfectly clever punchline that nobody laughed they just all agreed unanimously that that is exactly what it should be called.

That shot of Sally calmly explaining her turd with Nish silently corpsing in the backdrop at 4:05 may well be the most well-composed shot in the history of broadcast television

You could’ve stopped at “I love Guz” he’s one of my fave contestants ever, pretty much everything he does or says makes me laugh 😂😊

I'm guessing the person playing the back-up music may be a member of Alex's band. Does Mike play guitar himself ?
Paul Sinha's speech, something which was no doubt prepared to some extent, might be one of the greatest things on Taskmaster, period. You usually never see the old, befuddled players on Taskmaster ever do something significant about being the biggest liability, and some even lean into it, but Paul throughout the series furiously stands up and shouts "Even if Taskmaster makes me look like a fool, I'm still valuable and intelligent." His speech during the bird-naming challenge and this solidify that he is one of the best contestants on the show, period.
He's really underappreciated, that's for sure. He really won my heart, not even considering the state he was in during filming (injured and ill).
Season 8 may have been the worst series but it gave us one of my favourite contestants. Paul is such a gem.
It's nice knowing that despite being the overall loser, he's the best scorer for prize tasks in that series

I’ll always feel a tiny bit sad that Mike Wozniak’s big reveal wasn’t before a live audience, what a moment tho

So hard to pick a favorite of these. The Guz dog painting was so epic. Mile Wozniak is a legend. Definitely time for a re-watch.

You shpuld watch the episode, it's a good one.
And yes, Guz got his painting. He also tweeted about it after the episode premiered. Apparently it was very difficult for him to not show it off at every opportunity.

That Victoria's "most ridiculous thing" is neither in part 1 nor in part 2 is a crime in itself.

Ed Gamble not having a second episode of champion of champions to recover and win is just wrong. It took Josh two episodes to win the first Champions and I'm confident Ed would have pulled it out.
Well Josh didn't do bad in episode 1 at all, he was one point behind Katherine and just very consistent overall. In fact, he didn't win a single task in the second episode yet still won the episode and the series. Plus Ed could have won with the live task which was an all-or-nothing if I remember right.
Also, the apparent reason for COC II only comprising one episode is due to Richard Herring having testicular cancer
Such a great collection. Rhod's prize could also have been sent in to the first one. It got three wow's.

Stop spoiling the mohawk reveal in your trailers, Taskmaster, says man who has seen it at least half a dozen times in seperate clips already ,but it's the principle of the thing.

No need for pseudoscience. The usual excuse is quite plausible: it's a fisheye lens.
Well, maybe a little pseudoscience if it turns out that part of the footage is contradictory which how a fisheye would show it, but I haven't taken that close a look at the video.
Edit: took another look, and fisheye seems likely. There are times when it looks like Earth is curved the wrong way, which is an artifact of the lens. At the height this would have gone to, the curve would have been possible to see, but only just, as I understand it.
For the important documents one, doc brown could have said that Doc. Is short for document, and bought in a picture of himself. Doc. Brown

When Ed drops the TM trophy from space what is all the "debris" that we see in space?
I think it's balloon shreds. It's minus 56 degrees Celsius up there, so the material is brittle. The balloon bursts when it's inflated to the max. At ground level it's only partially inflated. Then it puffs up more and more, as the air pressure decreases with rising height. So it's like smashing a window.

Hi taskmaster hugemongous fan from Australia. I feel like because taskmaster is not very famous here if you can can you make the show more accessible here because basically no one has binge and I love the show and would like to share it with my friends and other family members?!
10:00 unless I’ve misunderstood he says to buy for the person below in the alphabet. But then they’ve bought for the person above them.
It’s their first names going down alphabetically

The contestants are always sat in the alphabetical order of their first names. Effectively buy it for the person on your left and Victoria gets it for Alan.

I guess it all depends whether you list your letters from top to bottom or bottom to top.
I'm with you, though. I thought it was a bit confusing. If you number the letters of the alphabet, a lower letter would come before. They could have phrased that much better.

They did, and it was unwatchable. Lisa Lampanelli was a screeching nightmare.
There was also a German version that never made it to air because every contestant solved every task the same way and it was boring and unfunny. Desiree Burch got to the heart of this during the Pop A Balloon task when she said she could have chosen the obvious solution and completed it quickly, but that's not what the show is about. The show is supposed to be funny and character-driven: in the end, it's not about points or winning.

@@AsbestosMuffins I mean I'm not sure if the five contestants they got really are 'big stars', the two I knew (Dillon Francis and Freddie Highmore) aren't even comedians. I suppose Ron Jeremy as the Taskmaster had potential but didn't really work

Alex was the assistant on US version which was weird but understandable. The comedians were not well known to me except Ron Funches; it was horrible. Taskmaster's concept does not go over well with US audience, just a thought. It's probably why we don't have a Bake Off. There's no prize money or TV show deal at the end of the series.
