In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion. - Komedie
I remember the time Rosalind appeared on The Chase and Nish tweeted about it saying "I'm always seeing her do cool stuff."
omg hahaha
Did she?? Wish I could find that it sounds entertaining
that makes it so much better
Rosalind's a fucking nightmare
That's amazing!!!! 😊 thanks for sharing that!!!
For those out of the loop, Paul's "injured" shoulder was actually an early symptom of his Parkinson's, the man is an absolute trooper for pushing through it all
I was just looking for this incase no one mentioned it. I think he was diagnosed with it shortly after filming? Or around the same time.
Aw man, wish him the best. Parkinson's is a bastard.
He didn't have to push through it, though. They didn't need to be a human centipede on the ground.
We (the disabled and chronically ill) get praised for pushing our minds and bodies to the breaking point.
But we get judged and shamed for saying no, setting boundaries, and asking for accommodations so we don't strain or hurt ourselves.
Our conditions progress more quickly if we force ourselves to push through things we really aren't physically/psychologically capable of doing.
@@janeeyre1990 he chose to, though. Also as someone with recent shoulder surgery It tends to hurt just doing normal stuff.
@@Pagliacci_Rex He chose to but often disabled people “choose” for the reasons Kelsey explained. We feel pressured to push ourselves past our limits. Even if it was “just” an injured shoulder, it sucks he still had to do this.
Sure he could have said no, but what Kelsey said is true, we genuinely often get judged, shamed, or pressured into pushing ourselves past our limits, so we do.
Bob just unprompted saying, "Do we strike you?" before even opening the task is one of the funniest moments on the show. That entire task is one of the best moments in television history.
After all these years, I still don't get it. Does 'do we strike you?' mean 'do we hit you?'
@@pet_charisma Yes, that's exactly what it means, which is why its so crazy that he said that.
Love love love every word Bob says, his laugh, his face, every moment he was on screen in TM...pure joy. He's in my top 3 all time favorite contestants on TM. I think perhaps that was my favorite series, as well. Love Mark, Nish and Aisling (her love robot, omg!!!). Bob's book was fabulous, he's a lovely, silly man and I wish I could hug him.😊
@@thomasdegroat6039I thought it meant "do we strike you" as in "are we striking to you" meaning like do we draw your attention
Just imagine if the task had actually been “hit this old woman.”
"stop being NICE" is peak s12 energy, such a wonderful cast.
such a cast
Shame I cant like your comment more than once..
One of my FAVOURITES. I can rewatch them over and over, such a sweet lot
The ''give another contestant a gift'' task being cut before Victoria gave her gift made me laugh
Same... that was the most Wholesome one.
What did Victoria give and who won the task?
@@kerrytaylor1795 victoria gave a voucher for a season ticket to alan's most hated football team, so that he could appreciate going to see a winning team for once, and played it off so brilliantly that it is genuinely hard to tell if she actually knew what an awful gift it was. last place, of course.
i'm pretty sure desiree won with the picture for guz
@@kerrytaylor1795she gave Alan Davies a season ticket voucher to see Manchester United. Alan is an Aresenal fan. I'm pretty sure Desiree won the task.
To be fair, her calculated passive-aggressive personal attack might fall a little outside of "wholesome"
Mark and Nish’s song is even more wholesome when you compare it to the other song, “Rosalind is a Fucking Nightmare”
at the end she is sitting in audience
sometimes I randomly remember Nish and Mark's song and it makes me so happy
That and Katherine's nursery rhyme: Choo choo peanut butter!
It was a genuinely beautiful song.
@Stefan Gous that wasn't Katherine's nursery rhyme, that's a well known nursery rhyme, hers was "James the dirty tooth" 😂
@@ruqayyahqadri8180 The first time I ever heard it was from her xD
Yes, it was one of the best things I've heard in my life. 😊 I could hear it every day. Wish they'd have released it.
"Wholesome Moments :)"
Bob Mortimer: *Do we strike you*
Surely you know that the word strike can mean stand out, (to you) as a thought that strikes you, can be used like a striking looking woman, like a thought that strikes, (occurs to) you.
He may have meant
Do we strike you, (as odd? as alarming, etc), but the remark dried up as he said it and left it open ended.
There is nothing about Bob that suggests he meant strike as a blow.
True but you're forgetting one very important fact
This is Bob Mortimer
How can there be a wholesome moments video without Mike's "but I've had a lovely day and no one can take that away from me"???
"Wholesome Taskmaster Moments" could have just been a compilation of every moment Mel is on screen.
I love how excited she got and sometimes i wonder what she did with all the wax seals
@@j3sSM4iN If I remember correctly she was going to make a huge wax seal out of them but then gave them all but one to a fan
@@lola-sophiedanton5801 that’s adorable
She blessed us by introducing us to the nickname Desky for Hugh
I really like her I'm always happy to see her on panel shows. That's how I discovered her - not her other stuff. Bake Off is it ? - and that's how she she's immediately likeable.
"do we strike you?" I fucking love Bob lol
Bob Mortimer has such incredible creative energy. Can't tell if he's doing it to be funny or if he's legitmately just insane xD
@@Taolan8472 He understands the humour in acting unhinged.
Absolutely iconic that a clip in a compilation of wholesome moments starts with Bob Mortimer asking if he should strike a woman he's never met
There is nothing about Bob that suggests he meant strike as a blow or too injure
@@georgielancaster1356 That's NOT what Bob meant when he asked if they should strike her. xD
It doesnt even fit grammatically.
@@andreaskarlsson5251Out of interest, what did he mean?
@@Big_Bad_Gammon strike as in punch.. you know, the obvious one.
You know, for all that Iain was a bit of an overly competitive arse for a chunk of the show, something even he admits, the fact that he was the first to come over to help Paul with the sleeping bag task was really wholesome.
It’s kind of weird that the next episode immediately started with them having a huge argument in the prize task though. Especially because two studio episodes are filmed per session, and if i remember right the sleeping bag task was in episode 3
I still remain that Iain being an overly competitive prick fit the season perfectly and was very funny.
@TetraDax it's one of the elements in that particular series that makes me come back to it. Another good example of how taskmaster is not quite a panel show. Contestants have arcs.
The moment he pretty obviously lets Paul win the syllables contest is also very sweet.
Can’t believe they didn’t include Greg comforting Sarah Millican when she was completely distraught about her own singing. That one actually made me tear up lol
Joe getting himself confused between written and drawn was great, completely shooting himself in the foot.
Joe's facial expressions in virtually every moment of series 8...I would love that compilation. 😊
@@brendalamalfa5030I think you’re getting the Joes confused lol, OP was referring to Joe Lycett on the median duck task
Pauls sleeping bag moment is my favourite TM moment, esepcially knowing now what he was going through, so wholesome
what was he going through?
@@nimito_burrito he has parkinsons disease but it was undiagnosed at the time of TM so affected how he did
He has Parkinson's.
@@SamOGr Shit, I had no idea. Poor guy :(
Love you Paul.
And he had just had shoulder surgery when he was doing his recorded tasks
The smile on Mark's face when he did that little drum fill in the middle of the song is going to stay with me for the rest of my life. So wholesome.
The Mel Giedroyc montage (and 'bonus task") will forever be one of my favourite things they've done.
Everything about Mel was fantastic
Alex's face when Bob says "do we strike you?" is priceless.
You know that the word strike can mean stand out, (to you) as a thought that strikes you, can be used like a striking looking woman, like a thought that strikes, (occurs to) you?
He may have meant
Do we strike you, (as odd? as alarming, etc), but the remark dried up as he said it and left it open ended.
There is nothing about Bob that suggests he meant strike as a blow.
Most wholesome was Mel saying that she'd give up her points for someone, I forget why. Mel is the best.
When she and Joe got points docked for eating the chocolate
@@iliketrains3495 that sounds about right- after he drank the gross fishtank water.
Missing Morgana's "I'm really proud of you" when Alex ate a spoonful of all the blended foods.
i think that was more evil than wholesome 😂
Contestants helping/sticking up for each other could also be a good spin-off compilation. Some examples I can think of are the series 10 cast pushing for Johnny Vegas to get a bonus point after his beer mat tragedy, Rhod Gilbert attempting to support pretty much everyone at some point in series 7 (only to immediately get betrayed), Richard helping Katherine (could actually say this about two series) and, most recently, Jenny Eclair supporting Ivo Graham's attempt on the barge task
I mean, Rhod also completely betrayed James & Phil in the extension task, so I wouldn’t say he’s 100% supportive.
Banger profile picture.
“I have written… DRAWN!! The Median Duck!” 😂
one moment i thought was quite wholesome was after watching rhod gilbert tie up alex. rhod turned round to the other 4 expecting them to call him a cheat and they started praising the shit out of him.
13:42 "We have defeated the format of your show" Guz Khan with the iconic quotes.
Along with "He didn't even get ANY GCSE and he knows what a harmonica is." During the 'Have the longest telephone conversation' task.
Always enjoy Alex's face after the 'sweety shoplifting' comment 😂
I love Wumar's song but their peak adorableness has to be their "this is our moment" embrace after everyone else was disqualified!
6:42 the smile on Mark’s face, he knew at that moment he smashed it
Paul Sinha being helped is very heartwarming. That Iain was the first to help Paul changed my opinion of him as an annoying arrogant person as shown from most of the rest of their series.
I think even he would agree that this show didn’t always bring out his most attractive traits. His realizations of this made for a uniquely satisfying character arc over the course of the series.
He's not annoying and arrogant, he's just Scottish.
I never found Iain arrogant, he was just very willing to win the whole show. And as he said himself, he learned more about himself than he would've thought
@@OneBentMonkey Wish I could be as eloquent 👍🏼
@@puckerings I daren't press like on this but wanted to acknowledge your reply 😁
Nish and Mark and their song will forever be the best part of Taskmaster.
in fact, "I'm Always Seeing You [Open Brackets Do Cool Stuff Close Brackets]" is my latest earworm. Here's hoping I don't get tired of this timeless jewel as a result!
The extra little bit of wholesome that is Alex wearing a tie for all of Mel's tasks just because She's Mel.
That lady on the second task lived a full life from what i gathered. She was an athelete. Shop lifter, played in a string quartet, and some other stuff i forget.
Does anyone else find it funny that the quote “It is the most touching moment in taskmaster history” is immediately followed by “Do we strike you?”
I kove Mel's "....but that makes the task more difficult.
Ooooh, that makes the task more difficult. "
“I have written … DRAWN”
What is writing but drawing letters
I think they gave Rosalind Greg's "rear view glasses" from Frank Skinner's prize task where they had to buy a gift for the TM for 20 Pounds. I love how they keep the objects involved in later seasons, great continuity. Like cutting the season 12 portcullis scissors were from season 9s' Rose Matafeo
Also speaking of Frank Skinner, his grape scissors were reused in the Escgrape Room task in series 14
@@iliketrains3495 I had quite the smile when i saw that moment. Or Mike Wozniak using Tim Keys tennis ball launcher as his "Roman Scepter" for the rotary photo task
Repeat viewings of this show are rewarding: I’d already watched the series 5 song task, oh … a dozen times? … but today, for the first time, I saw the sign reading “Taskonbury Festival!”
"Wholesome Taskmaster Moments" features Mel dropping an F-bomb 😵💫
Well that’s because there’s nothing that Mel can do that isn’t wholesome.
my fav wholesome taskmaster moment, bob mortimer greeting a stranger with "DO WE STRIKE YOU?"
I love how they ended with Mel being nice and making fun of her for saying "heck" but at 8:28 she said "fucking."
Classic wholesome moments: Bob asking if he should strike a woman. Mel dropping an F-bomb at the in person task.
He asked do WE strike you?
Surely you know that the word strike can mean stand out, (to you) as a thought that strikes you, can be used like a striking looking woman, like a thought that strikes, (occurs to) you.
He may have meant
Do we strike you, (as odd? as alarming, etc), but the remark dried up as he said it and left it open ended.
There is nothing about Bob that suggests he meant strike as a blow.
Did anyone else catch Mel properly swearing? 😂
I'm still waiting for the Diverse Stripes' first studio album!
I always thought for the draw the median duck task, you could just draw six ducks all the same size, then one of them is pretty much guaranteed to be the median duck
I wish Mel was my aunt or something like that her positivity is infections.
I'd love to be her friend!
The Wumar song is the greatest moment in Taskmaster history.
That song actually slapped pretty hard.
No but seriously, Gus is like my favorite contestant on this show ever. Rhod is up there as well.
I agree. Followed closely by Jamali. But there are so many greats it's tough to choose.
I'd love to see Gus and Rhod doing a group task together
The task where they had the head cam and just the way he was yelling 'ALEX' had me in stitches
gus is really a wholesome person overall
genuinely thought the title was "worrisome" and i just accepted it because yeah. there have definitely been quite a few worrisome moments lol
"It was so......in me. 😮"
🎂
"do we strike you" still works there too 😂
Anything including Rhod Gilbert
God damn, hearing Mel say "fucking" just hits different
Mel always looks like she's about to renovate a house :D
Nish and Mark bromance was amazing
7:38 I never fail to weep at this song -- and if you look closely, I think we can agree what those eyes ain't dry either 😢🥳
I love that Mel’s one big F-bomb gets included in the “wholesome moments” compilation
The true power of this show, it actually drove Mel Giedroyc to say "fucking".
I wonder if Alex reads these comments. Taskmaster is one of the greatest channels on CZcams.
My favourite part is 13:09. Guz and everyone else are so wholesome ♥️
Mel doing the "dickhead" sign on her head after the montage of positivity was so funny and took me back decades to my school days!
what a nice upload, i was having a rough time and this made me smile
Same here. Needed this today. 🥲
Hope you feel better now friend o/
@@3vermor3 it genuinely helped! :)
The Diverse Stripes' song & whole attitude & bro'ness & everything just makes me so happy! Tough to top this!!!
let's collect our personal most wholesome moments here
i got so emo over that i love them so much
Bob Mortimer is an effing treasure.
2:19
Paul had me in tears
😂❤
Hearing Mel says 'Fucking' was wholesome in and of itself.
Nearly all of the TM! Except for a few absolutely cursed ones (poor Alex)... I adore you, TM people. Strangely enough, I think I'm a better teacher because of you. :-) Love from Poland
This show has some of the best TV-show moments. ;)
Shame you missed Victoria's gift to Alan, which was the funniest of the 5 gifts!
I love how Mel has the most screen time in this montage 🤣
I've just realised how good the bass line is in the intro. Well done!
I mean the contestant chemistry in season 12 is just perfect 🎉
them cutting victoria’s gift out of that clip 😭😭 i yelled 😂
“Do i strike you” always gets me
Whole episodes would be wholesome.
The Never Good Enough song is easily one of the highlights of this shows history.
To ensure you definitely draw the median duck, you draw five or more identical sized ducks.
We all need mel's clip of being positive whenever we feel down
3:33 Called her sons inept on national TV LOL
Mel Giedroyc most wholesome contestant
I was prepared for this to only be Jenny Eclair at EVERY task, she's the absolute sweetest
i mean i dont know how much time those two had to write and perform that song but that shit was epic
30 minutes
Oh man. The Covid seasons suffered a bit (especially on the prize tasks) but I'll forever love the 'best gift' task.
That Positive Mel montage is amazing
Everyone, great thoughtful gifts
Victoria: well you'd rather watch the Arsenal
That was beautiful
Mel's right uppercut (17:31) is a thing of beauty!
Watching the first task now having learned some of Paul Sinha's backstory is all the more heartwarming. Like...ow.
Honestly Mark and Nish's song was great.
Some great moments here , the comedians work so well together :-)
"... do we strike you?" hits me fresh every time
I saw wholesome Taskmaster moments and thought oh a whole video of just Mel! She's my favorite but all of these were so wholesome!
"Would you like to be able to fly?"
"No."
Obvious next question: "Uh, why the hell not? Are you insane?"
It’s really great how the show almost all contestants who brought in nice presents for their assigned guest, but had to cut Victoria Mitchell’s one because she pretty much insulted Allen Davies 😂.
“Never have I ever experienced, such a targeted attack on my personality.”
Alan Davis
Mark and Nish’s song is a cultural reset
"do we strike you" takes the cake
I was gonna comment but it wont be...
🎵Good enough🎵
that song was pretty damn good!
Best four questions ever from Bob Mortimer 😂😂😂
For the duck task, I was surprised no one just drew 7 ducks which were all about the same size. By law of medians, they would win by sheer numbers eliminating the others, even if they were all the size of Joe’s
I though median was just the one in the middle. I know the one lady says “Median, the average” but the _mean_ is the average. Mean and median are different things, right?
I assume they meant average like “the most middling” thing, I guess.
Yeah they are different
@@DeathnoteBB
When they use ‘average’ here, by the way they explain it, they are referring to “the one in the middle” which is actually the median.
@@centurionquincy3899 That’s what I thought but the concept of a “most middlest duck” confused me
I love Lolly's duck, actually!
He may not be the most popular contestant, but it’s moments like 2:31 which makes it impossible for me to dislike Iain Stirling.
