In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

I want to thank Alex and the TM crew for actually caring about their fans on CZcams aswell. They arent like other big tv shows who just post small clips for views.
Ikr. They could’ve made so much more money just by putting it on a streaming platform
So true.
It's also good for them! I'm in Canada and most likely would have never found the show and been able to support it if they didn't upload to CZcams!
Alex seems like one of the best humans, especially in the world of entertainment. And making this available to us all over the world, well, wow!
He really does seem genuinely kind and unique in a wonderful way. Providing laughter and entertainment as well introducing the contestants/comedians to a worldwide audience.
Sohpie getting away with saying umbrella 15 TIMES is absolutely insane and yet perfectly reasonable.
But getting screwed on the stage task round 1 was definitely not..
@@GarrettPDGA One of my favorite things about Sophie is how she accepts getting screwed with zero malice, just pure whimsy :'D
I was thinking she could have said it dozens of times when nobody else was in the room.
@@DaddyBeanDaddyBeanher teammates had to be able to hear it, it was part of her rules
@@kendralutley5416 oh ok, missed that, thanks
Nick has no idea what he has done. The number of strangers who will now ask to squeeze his thigh will be increasing astronomically.
When he was doing that and Greg said "What a mighty tree trunk you have!" I went 'No Nick! This will be on the internet for ever now! People will be so weird about this you poor Innocent man!' 😓😄
I love how this implies that it wasn't originally zero before increasing 😂
And now he’s fallen into Greg’s trap 😉
Into the fanfictions he goes
Squeeze his thigh while Nick does the umbrella wink
The umbrella wink is a career defining moment. Nick's life will never be the same.
Both versions of this task have been hilarious. But Steve and Nick's go straight into the Taskmaster Hall of Fame.
Shame "Umbrella Corporation""® is already taken...
Not to mention those rock hard thighs!
nah the umbrella wink be old news in about 3 days, lets not sleep on the thigh squeeze, that thing will stay with him forever constantly being asked for it
If there ever is a Ted Lasso Season 4 they need to include it as part of his character!
Nick and Steve failing that task has probably been my favorite task in all 17 seasons
The watermelon falling straight down was pure poetry. You can write it, but you can't write it better.
@samdurham6277 Nick stepping on the stage directly after being reminded he can't! Lol. John Kearns wishes he could have sabotaged so well
@@samdurham6277 and steve just not even looking its way and just closing his eyes lmao
@@Numerlon the task could have been “fail this task in as many ways as possible” and they wouldn’t have failed in as many ways as they did 😂😂
I cried laughing...and at that moment maybe the most endearing comedy duo in history
You could argue that the one thing that being alive really means is that you can die. In that sense Joanne McNally's attempt with the mannequin is quite profound.
So she gets 5 theoretical points for that.
Too bad she couldn’t bullshit her way to that conclusion it may have worked
All she had to do was to have a final scene with the thing alive (maybe paint it pink) and she would've done really well.
That's was frankly my first thought.
@@ProxyGateTactician Judy Love would definitely have tried that angle, though.
And all other angles.
I have the biggest crush on Nick Mohammed this season. He seems like such a sweet person.
He is very sweet. Even as a stage vampire.
Get in line, Greg has dibs!
And those legs are tree trunks
I'm not into blokes but I don't mind saying that he's adorable but with confidence.... depending on the task at hand 😂
He’s also athletic with tree trunks for legs apparently.
This is the most quietly unhinged episode of all time. I felt like I was staring into the void. Excellent. No notes.
Wasn't expecting horror tonight, but Steve Pemberton as a mannequin is bloody terrifying.
I got major League of Gentlemen vibes from that bit.
The editing was perfect too 😂 *the skin*
I have watch every episode of Taskmaster multiple times, there very few moments I skip... This will be one of them, I do need to sleep haha
i dont know if you know his work, but he is most famous for The League Of Gentlemen, and that is horror
@@krisinsaigon It wasn't horror... it was a local show, for local people.
Greg: What a mighty tree trunk you have!
Nick: It's really hard, isn't it?
no way the Internet denizens will misinterpret this at all!
Steve: I actually have a banana down here, that I would like to show you
Sophie's beatboxing, puts Iain Stirling's "boots and cats" to shame! 😂
She should have gotten more points for that. Surely it's more entertaining than simply dancing with the maneken that looks just like a maneken, considering Sophie's attempt involved some dancing as well 😄
Agreed. Beatboxing Wolfie was worth 4pts imo
@@soniajo6237 1 point for how you wrote 'mannequin'.
And Nick and Steve breaking every rule possible in the team task puts Iain and the sand buckets to shame 🤣
@@Schradermusic 😂💀
I don't know the business end of putting the whole show on CZcams, but I'll say its 100% the reason Taskmaster is the first serialized show I've watch season after season of in years (decades, practically) because there's simple, practical access to it. I don't know if its theoretically way less profitable or not, but I am a testament to a viewer you've only brought in through the ways you share this show with others.
Same! It also helps that each series is different and the tasks are still new and funny. I've started watching when there were only unofficial uploads..so great that I can support the official channel now!
As an American viewer, I am just so so grateful they decided to put full episodes and seasons up on CZcams. And so soon after they air, too. If they hadn’t, I wouldn’t have even heard of the show. Now I’ve seen over 20 seasons, including international version lol
I hope they're making money of YT ads or something, and for the same reasons you've mentioned I've been rewatching every series/episode. Truly grateful for the ease of access.
I'm kind of surprised Nick is doing so poorly this series, because he's had a lot of very strong performances. On the other hand, sometimes he does just flip a table.
I'm surprised that people still think that the actual competition matters, and thst it isn't literally just a framing device. It's like the people who try to 'win' Dungeons and Dragons and don't realise that rolling a natural one on the die is Very Good for the narrative generally, and a lot of fun.
@@Killjoy_Mel No, I get that it's a comedy show first and foremost. Someone in the comments section of a different episode complained about how unfair the prize task is, and I had to explain to them that the entire show is fundamentally arbitrary. It's more Whose Line is it Anyway than a serious competition.
@@portmantologist Don't tell that person that the contestants don't always create the item submitted for the prize task! A very few times, they've let slip phrases like "I asked them [the production team] to make me [thing]".
Although clearly they also sometimes do also make the thing, or bring an actual possession or whatever. So there's probably a mishmash of origins of the things.
@@isaaceiland-hall425 I feel like it's fine as long as it's their idea tbh
New Nick and Greg fan fiction coming soon, undoubtedly.
What do you mean "new"?! Does that imply there are some already??
I watched the latest outtakes where Greg lifts Nick out of the floaties and was thinking the exact same thing..
Where can I read?
@@multitoucan300 You haven't seen them? they're great
As well as Alex and Steve
Nick and Steve's team task was a perfect example of several things: how to not read or follow instructions, how to create an impromptu doubles prop comedy improv act, and surprisingly, a lesson in the conservation of energy and momentum.
Honestly, a perfect intro to a physics lab at uni
Sophie with her 15 umbrellas and Nick's wink at the end of the bonus task are just SUPERB! LMAO! Love this show soooooooo much!!!
Manny Quinn was some Bob Mortimer-level shit.
only if Manny Quinn's anus was too high.
I always like when Alex lightly denies whatever Greg has just accused him of saying in the intro because it's funny to think about the things he didn't deny at all
I mean there's definitely a pattern to it - he'll deny actually bad things like racism/homophobia/cheating on his wife pretty quickly but let almost anything that's more absurd than cancellable slide
Nick is absolutely going for the People's champion, doesn't matter if he is utterly dumpstered in points, I feel like he will be many people's favorite contestant for series to come! Also, has there been a series with a gulf in points this big before? John just keeps on winning and Nick, well... bless him, we love him anyway.
Wolfie was robbed!
I haven't counted them all, but in series 12 Victoria was 40 points behind Alan and Desiree who were in third place, which is the highest gulf between last and fourth, so it's a bit bigger between last and first (although Morgana wasn't that far ahead of Alan and Desiree)
For me it was sophie
Nick and Steve and their watermelon work is some of the best failing i have seen in ages. In my life, maybe. Great Work.
you know if Ed Gamble had been paired with either of them, he'd already be in jail fur murder.
@@benzaiten933 that would be rich coming from the guy who spat milk in Alex's tea
Remember when John had the secret task of sabotaging the task?
John's deliberate sabotage wasn't failing as hard as these two actually trying their earnest to accomplish the task.
I’m high as fuck right now and found that mannequin task so genuinely, deeply unsettling. Manny Quinn is seared into my brain
If it's any consolation, I was completely sober, but it was still unsettling.
Haha dude weed lmao xD
I love that Nick did the same "AAAAAHHHHHHHH" as Katherine Parkinson when she thought she had the Spider task figured out. I think that is even the same table!
The psychological effects of that table cannot be ignored
Am I the spider?
The beatboxing Alsatian was wonderful! So completely off-the-wall. I thought it should have won!!
Definitely better than John's, who just dragged a mannequin around a bit.
Yeah, the 3 points should have been hers.
7:08 that look on John's face after Greg said he didn't want to squeeze his farthing collection😂
It's fascinating how well this show builds rapport between the contestants and the audience. Every season on the first episode I get introduced to new people, and by the end of the series I feel like I've known them for years.
I go from “I have no idea who most/any are” to “I love them all so much please don’t go” every single series.
I learned another difference between British English and American English: flapjack is apparently something like a granola bar in Britain, while in the US it's a pancake.
And apparently "flan" is something else as well - in the US it usually refers to a Mexican custard dessert with a caramel sauce.
According to the internet, a UK flan is also described as "custard", but my idea of custard would not spill down the sides when it's a degree off level... How does one typically eat a pie shell poured to the brim with eggnog? Because that's such a watery tart it should be distributing swords.
@@Ceruleanst I see what you did there, and I approve greatly. No supreme executive powers for the contestants on this one!
@@Ceruleanstagreed. Also, thankfully, TM's versions of many things are messier and more complicated versions, especially when asked to manipulate them in a way that may get contestants gooey.
Steve is always so creative and yet somehow mostly in the middle. I like his creativity best
He's been hindered by being disqualified a couple of times. Were it not for that his point score would be up with John's.
@@aymiewalshe982 also with the exception of the very first team task, the other team has swept the tasks
He absolutely puts the most effort into most tasks, it just doesn't always pay off.
So what have we learned today?
We've learned umbrella that you can't bring something to life by literally declaring it dead. We've learned that Taskmaster is mich more umbrella difficult when you don't have the fucking task with you. And we've umbrella that Joanme Umbrella McNally has no umbrella clue how to whisper.
But most umbrella, we've learned that tonight's winner is JOOOOHN ROBBIIIIIINS!

the flucking task
I really want to do this umbrella in real life 😂
Why do you keep saying umbrella? :P
It's nice to have this part, so thank you. But you spoiler the end of the episode, I don't thank you for that
With the Greg-Nick dynamic, not enough people talking about how John took his chance to hold Joanne's hair back for her. What a romantic!
They seem to have been flirting all season. Especially Joanne’s portrait task
I loved that part! What a gentleman.
@@andrewellis712i was literally thinking this too. they’re flirting like crazy. i thought it was only me who had noticed it 😂
I genuinely until this episode thought the statue of Greg was concrete.
Ditto- I was so confused when John bent its arm, I thought he had super powers for a third of a second.
same!!
See, I'm the opposite. I always thought it was abstract!
Turns out it was just Greg covered in plaster the whole time
The real concrete was the friends we've made along the way
Honestly, I thought the big reveal would be that Nick and Steve had a second secret task about sabotaging the watermelon task.
As it turns out, they're just terrible.
Alex Horne's eyes/eyebrows between @11:07 and :09 went from pure hesitation to pure joy!
Alex is practically (if not actually) a sadist and they barely hide it through editing lmao
So today I learned, Nick Mohammed does not skip leg day!
The genius of the editing can leave performers thinking they've nailed the task when they've actually botched it. That flick task was madness!! I would have botched it myself for sure!!!
The crowd went silent as Steve unveiled his chocolate banana machine, as they pulled out their phones to buy one. Good on ya Steve. Brilliant
The funniest bit has to be that the "chocolate banana machine" is actually just a slightly modified Churro filling machine.
I recognized it from Shark Tank. It’s the Banana Loco!
"WE MAY NOT STEP ON THE STAGE!"
Perfection.
26:47
the watermelon umbrella task is as insane as the bathtub task with lolly joe and noel
Different task but whenever I mess something obvious up... I say to myself "Without moving the fishbowl..."
I was just thinking about their three team task the other day! So so funny! I think that was one of my favorite seasons.
After so many seasons, the Tasks are not getting boring, but more and more interesting. The creativity of the team is incredible! Thanks and respect!
Yes, that is the beauty of this show... the possibilities are endless!
I feel like john is going to get the most points anyone has ever gotten in a series
He needs 32 points to beat Dara, who finished with 184 points, which is highly plausible.
I love this cast. Less crazy laughs because they’re not psychopaths, true. But I’d rather hangout with any of them than some people in previous seasons. My other favorite lovely cast is series 11.
True. I think the whole cast is pretty chill which is actually quite nice. They are the complete opposite of S16 where the whole lineup was manic and insane. I like both series, but maybe the that swing was too great for some people.
Joanne comes across as a little crazy. But that is a part of her charm.
@@slake9727 but then series 11 had Lee Mack, so that would be comparable
Agreed. I loved all seasons. I loved crazy seasons and rewatch them often. But all Taskmaster is good times. Sweet Nick failing miserably in this is so funny.

Sophie got robbed of 3rd place in the mannequin task. On the other hand, the 2 point bonus task said explicitly exactly five times.
exactly five times, which she did 3 times. should get 6 bonus points. 😆
It said five times, but did not say the word exactly. So 15 would count, in my book.
I'd even argue that Steve did not complete the mannequin task as it it said "make THIS mannequin come alive" and he did not use it at all

Umm Sophie, where have you been hiding your beatboxing? Literally the most surprising thing ever. I need her to drop a rap album.
i see we fundamentally disagree on what flan and flapjacks look like
lol yep, welcome to the UK
Thank you for saying this.
How enraged would you be ordering flan and seeing that pie crust of liquid come out? A solid display of how the same word is used to describe something wildly different across the Atlantic.
@@Corvus-fw2hr the liquid isn’t normal. I expect they just used boxed custard for cheapness and for that slomo shot. It is different in the uk though. It’s a general word for what in America might be called an egg tart. In my experience it’s usually a sweet egg custard in a crust, but occasionally it’s savory. I’ve never had a flan with a crust in America and it’s always sweet

I genuinely can't believe no one brought in an Alex Horne voodoo doll for the prize task.
Alex’s “little things keep me going” with the excitement was so lovely 🥹
Nick is always such a joy to watch in these, that umbrella wink was wonderful
I can’t believe the amazing Mr. Swallows who can remember super long lists couldn’t remember the team task.

Personally, I'm fine with this season so far, and it has moments that are really funny, but I think this is the first one I'm probably not going to rewatch. I also don't expect to see a lot from this season in future clip compilation videos.

I can honestly say that this is the very first season that I liked everyone there. Usually, there's someone I only tolerate.
I'm less picky. Every season has been a joy.
I love this cast.
Cheers to Nick, a very funny guy! He, to me, is the best contestant because he is just himself most of the time. Not to say the others aren't immensely talented, and they are, but Nick is just a dad doing his best, which is pretty cool.
He is my absolute fave. I am more gutted about his constant losses than he is!
I love the cast this season so much. Everyone is such a good sport about the tasks and the vibes are really sweet overall. Convinced me to binge watch all the other seasons!
One of my favorite casts, and this is maybe the funniest episode of the series!
39:15 This bit has some serious Bob Mortimer energy
Steve has to be the most creative contestant ever! I can’t think of anyone else really.
Yes! I feel like his level of commitment is comparable to one of us (a fan) getting on the show but he also brings a cinematic spirit to almost every task. I absolutely look forward to everything he does!
30:00 I have 4 words for you Greg. "Without. Moving. the. Fishbowl."
Strangely enough, skinning the mannequin and then getting into its skin was my first thought too!

Haters can’t enjoy life. Sweet people, fun tasks. Well done again Mr Horne.
Greg's interactions with the audience are hilarious! love every minute
Alex slightly shaking his head when Sophie mentioned her gift in the prize task being her left breast is hilarious

Justice for Wolfie! Sophie is a surprisingly good beatboxer!!
Nick’s and Steve’s watermelon task was pure comedy gold😂
I just learned that Americans and Brits have different meanings for the word flapjack.
Yes, in America we use flapjack interchangeably with pancake
7:42 You can visibly watch Alex read the teleprompter, go "wait why is the next line 'flip off greg?'" followed by realization of the joke. It's very funny.
this might be my fav episode of the series so far, just absolute madness lmao
Best part of my week, love this cast! Thank you Taskmaster team for uploading the episodes on youtube 😃
I think the prize task, with Nick's thigh and Joanne's cartilage-less nose, isthe most unhinged prize task ever!

What an incredible episode. Best one so far! I’m loving this group - everyone is so creative and hilarious. Nick has been such a revelation to me.
I was worried when I saw all of the"don't believe the hate" comments, but scrolling through, I'm only seeing 4 or so hateful ones and a ton of really positive ones. Considering i almost hyperventilated while laughing at the secret task, i can comfortably say this season is still super funny for me!

John's farthings collection is suddenly reminding me of his old XFM show when he chose fathings history as his topic on Winner Plays On. I can't remember how many weeks he won, but it feels like at least two
Impeccable episode, I especially thoroughly enjoyed the chaos in the team task, was very reminiscent of Hotel Taskmaster. 😂
I was really hoping the "secret task" was a reveal of previous tasks where they performed the secret and nobody noticed, including us.
