In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

I so greatly appreciate that the vampire’s favorite kitchen utensil is a garlic press 😂😂😂
Yes! I busted out laughing when he said that and my partner asked what's so funny about a garlic press.
Excellent catch.
I didn't catch it, but gave myself a facepalm when I read this comment... Brilliant..
Vampires *would* hate garlic, so it makes sense that they'd want to destroy(press) them.
Hahaha😂
Sometimes you know your favorite contestant is going to get last in the series, so all your energy goes into hoping they win just one episode
I think that they cut the tasks together in such a way that every contestant has a bunch of tasks they've performed really well at to give them a chance at winning an episode.
@@JacktheRah I’ve thought of that and whether or not it’s true, they can’t predict how well they’ll do in the studio tasks cause if John beat Nick by more than two points in the final task he would have won the episode
@@benfulfer3260 well it has happened with Judy Love, she had an episode perfectly set up for her to win, but she lost anyway and was devastated. It has happened a few other times as well.
Sometimes?! Always!
@@benfulfer3260 True, they weren't prepared for Greg to give 4 points to John for that harp. I mean, that task would have needed a massive separation between Nick and everyone else.
Nick radiates "I'm just happy to be here" energy.
100% golden retriever energy
I really like him...❤
@@LibBorahaeNow I'm trying to imagine a golden retriever as a vampire, and this amused me greatly.
Steve is really bringing a level of innovation to the prize tasks, the likes of which we haven’t seen since Rhod Gilbert hiding in Greg’s wardrobe

I knew nick was small/ greg was large, but seeing nick walk up to a sitting greg, and be the ON THE SAME LEVEL?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
At dance practice I kneeled to dance with Paulina once (and only once). Because we were the same height then. Once was a tease. More would be cruel as it upset her too much.
Fun fact: at 5'4 1/2" Nick Mohammed's height is exactly half way between that of Greg Davies (6'8") and Alex Horne (4'1")

Nick asking Joanne if she was doing Torvil and Dean's 1984 Bolero ice dance at the Olympics was so subtle... but maybe the most perfect guess of all time.

"The boy who didn't get his harp for Christmas"
John playing (and knowing) Rachmaninoff.. always reasons to love him more!

“The question is, Is Joanne’s better than Sophie’s?”
“Yes!! … NO!!”

LOL. I absolutely LOVE these quick, little, hilarious moments in Taskmaster!
Obviously the bigger, more gut busting scenes, normally found within the tasks themselves, are absolutely _incredible._ But it’s the wee moments like this one, which are sprinkled throughout each and every episode (Some of which are, clearly, funnier than others. This one in particular had me genuinely laughing out loud.), typically during the studio banter, that really make this show soooo f-in’ enjoyable for me!
(The amount of times I replayed this little bit to watch each contestants reaction truly borders on absurd. lol.)
As much as I never could stand Mr. Swallow, I have absolutely fallen in complete love with Nick. What the heck? lol. He's just so sweet and lovely.
Seen this on nearly every episode from different people!
I feel like you're not supposed to like Mr. Swallow, that's part of the charm haha
Really? Maybe I haven't seen all of the Mr. Swallow bits, then, because 1st time I ever saw Mr. Swallow (maybe on WILTY) I instantly fell in love with that character, so funny!
@@Yasmine17Enimsay We all like different things. I do want to be clear: I'm not saying the character isn't funny - I heard legitimate laughter from the audience. It's just a miss for me. lol. But I'm glad I got to see this side of him. And I haven't had a chance to rewatch the Mr. Swallow stuff, but with my newfound perspective on Nick, I may like it better. :)
@@isaaceiland-hall425 I'm on the same boat, and yet one of his recent appearances on 8oo10 cats countdown was quite funny and sweet. Maybe it just takes some getting used to.
GREG HAVING NICK WHISPER IN HIS EAR IS A CALCULATED, OH HE'S BEEN DYING TO DO THAT
ohhhhhhh no doubt and i dont blame him
He wants to wreck that tiny man so bad!!
Really enjoying watching their romance bloom. It's beautiful.
"oh you've got a glittery conch I'm afraid" 🤣🤣
John's face during the music task is so on point, my parents are both classically trained musicians, dad in the Symphony, and the facial expressions are perfect. 😂😂😂
That's five episode titles by Greg in a row now! Greedy man ~
Sophie's drum solo was actually 🔥
Nick absolutely nailing 2 of those tasks, I love it :)
Still the most mindblowing thing is that Alex's little tablet actually does something real.
This episode made Sophie my new favorite of the group. But Steve is one of my favorite "clever" contestants.
Joanne is being edged out as my favourite. Everyone is a contender.
@@redelfshotthefood8213 This is one of those seasons were they are all my favorite. Sometimes I have a stand out fave, other times (but rarely) there is one I really don't care for but then there are those golden seasons were each ep someone else is my favorite and in the end I love them all. This has become one of those seasons. I wouldn't say any of them are my favorite contestant ever, but they are one of my favorite groups ever. They are all strong at times, hilariously bad at times, and they blend really well together.
is sophie the fat(ter) one of these two orange plastic surgery tragedies? Because the one in the pink jumpsuit is more competent I would say
Coming home from work on Friday to a new episode of Taskmaster might just be my favorite thing
"Friday's with Frank" is also something to look forward to.
It truly has become THE best way to end a week! 🎉
I love the fact that when they said Nick won that episode he looked dumbstuck!! But by the time he got up there and started playing with Sophie's 'conch'... he looked like a kid who just won a best boy lottery!! It was soooooooo f#?$ing adorable!!
If you haven't realised this yet, this is the episode to realise they really try to have each contestant win at least an episode by the placement of their best performing tasks, which is nice I think.
They tried once with Nick previously and he didn't do well enough in the live task unfortunately.
I was noticing it. There is a great lesson in Gerrymandering here, where you gather up all of the items from one group (tasks Nick did well, voting demographics) and put them all in one spot so it overwhelms that spot, then they appear in much smaller numbers elsewhere.
7:35 David Correos flashbacks... *Walks around corner, once out of sight, screams*
YES!
Oh how I'd love to see David do a task like this 😂 he was one of my absolute favorite TM contestants! I want to go back and rewatch that season!
@@squishyshelli He knew how to play the game, and give the ppl what they wanted. Would love to have international TM contestants on for a special or a whole series.
Also had a Tim Vine moment, so much so that I’m surprised that John didn’t immediately shout “Lobster!”
Thanks for inviting me into your Taskmaster lives. This show had been a “best friend” at times …thank you for having them during the pandemic and now.
Some days are harder than others and this show is a great vibe. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Dracula in waders is just too delightful! I adore Nick. He seems like such a sweet soul.
put of curiosity, how old are you?
43:44 The smug little look on Sophie's face knowing that she did the best painting
They should have done the poles with a height arm span ratio for Nick..
I was thinking the same thing! Poor Nick!
Joanne’s eyes scare me. Maybe it’s just residual anxiety from her tension with Alex.
No, it's thousands of years of evolution.
No. Her eyes ARE... Something. Scary might be right. It's close, anyway.
Sophie gives such James Acaster energy but like genuinely unhinged and not as a bit... lover her
except James isn't totally incompetent at everything and also his accent doesn't reek of working class and I'm not constantly looking up his nostrils

I thought it was a reference to Joe Wilkinson
This was filmed WAY before that news came out.

My 4 yr old daughter was briefly watching this with me. She pointed to Alex and asked what his name is. Then she said, "What does Alex like?" I said idk, why? She said, "Because they have to make his dream come true." Then she went back to watching her own show. So, there you have it, Alex. I hope they make your dream come true!
Has she ever watched Taskmaster Australia with you? They had to make Lesser Tom's dream come true in a task there.

Steve's "music"...if ears could squint...
I was convinced that he was playing Strauss’ “Die Blaue Donau”, do I was really surprised at Beethoven’s 9th. Then “Greensleeves”?
Nicky Mouse.
'Nuff said. 😆
Congrats to the vampire for his first victory!
One of the best seasons !
I come to that conclusion pretty much every season. this show is just the best!
Every season I say this same thing. I fall in love with every wacky group...
I keep saying the same every season. Just love seeing new people, and falling in love with the way they do things.
I thought John did a good job painting the ball......
He paints the ball! He paints the ball! He paints the ball, AND HE PAINTS IT NOW!
(He's a man with a one track mind, so much to do in one lifetime)
Yay Nick 😂!!! Also, Sophie tends to do well in the more artistic-oriented tasks, I find.
Also the ones involving manual labour...
I love how she does those. Perhaps the best consistently delivered artistic value throughout a TM series. She does very minimalistic and precise drawings, she actually knows what she's doing. And I can't find any mention of her being an artist!! How is this possible? She's clearly talented!
I'm pleased with the winner. And ended with tears of laughter in my eyes. Another great episode!!
Steve's Prize Task was well thought out!! And our Garlic Crusher Weilding Overlord has won!🎉
It's the sneakiest present since Kiell's spy pen!
@@BlueManIan They're not presents!!!
That last task was great at showing how people are weirdly unable to separate movement from unrelated parts of their body. So many of them kept bending their neck every time they reached for the ball to literally play keep away with themselves, when all they had to do was keep their neck straight. Though there would be some strategy in looking straight up, so the length of the string is actually bringing the ball closer to you (the task didn't specify where on the ball the face would be painted), none of them appeared to be trying that tactic.
The reference to Keyzer Soze from "The Usual Suspects" in the prize task was so spot on. This show never ceases to amaze me with the combination of wit and humor it provides
How many Orchestra Conductors does it take to change a light bulb?
No one knows, because no one remembers to watch the Conductor.
John is just adorable! His face when he was playing his harp…❤️❤️❤️
So glad Nick won one. And how is he so adorable? Just me?
Right?!
How is the title of this episode not "Boob boob boob boob"
I think if put in a ‘follow the tangled fishing line to the end’ situation, I would likely giggle and scurry along the task the same as Nic! Well done sir.
John is a taskmaster rockstar
The music task was surprisingly HILARIOUS. Sophie's was so unhinged that Vivaldi would have been flattered
My guy finally won one Bela Lugosi would be proud
personally i would have done 4: 33 for that music task
Patience is a virtue.... patience is a virtue... patience is a virtue...
Distraction is a virtue, distraction ... (That's how I cope!!!)
John 19:29 playing that make shift harp sitting in his wife beater tee shirt for a moment made me think I was watching a live action Futurama movie and he was playing the role of Fry. And ironically off to the side of my comments a video about Futurama is being recommended to me.
How this comment started out, made me think it was one of those bot accounts that just say random bible quotes
@@CursedAndGifted LOL! Damn it now I can't unsee that as looking like a bible quote.
4’33 John Cage? So obvious!
I saw this after I had posted my comment. 👍
Would that be considered "classical music" though?
I did wonder if anyone would dare
I would have borrowed Alex’s stopwatch screen. First (and only) thing that came to my mind.
yeah same here lol
Well, I thought John's juicing was pretty hot, but I'm not the Taskmaster now, am I?
How to trigger existential crisis:
Im the same age as the youngest person on this panel...
It's Sophie
She can slut drop very well though, so it's not that much of a surprise really
Wait... Sophie is the youngest?!?!?! She is so timeless I honestly can't tell if she is 25, or 55...
I'm older than Greg but younger than Jenny Eclair. No crisis, I own cronedom!
It's a mixture of her voice and her being comfortable with herself in a way that is unusual for someone that young.
I'm almost 36, and most of us still do a ton of things in order to fit in and be liked and respected, even the ones who pretend to believe that nothing really is important still subconsciously want that outside validation at this age.
She has the authenticity of a woman in her fifties, but the face of a woman in her thirties. It's wild and beautiful and inspiring.
@@RealBradMiller I’ve always thought the same about Sian Gibson
Even with Greg seated, Nick looks absolutely hobbit-sized next to him!
00:46 Damn! That stab at Jon and Lucy hurt! T.T
It was filmed in September. I doubt they knew about them at the time
I thought about Joe Wilkinson losing his marriage certificate
@kischtrine Well, it wasn't publicly known, but people in their friend group probably had some idea, esp if they were living apart.
ETA: It just occurred to me that Roisin Conaty introduced them, and she's close with Greg. I bet he could've easily known about the situation.
I can’t imagine he’d make a joke about Jon and Lucy splitting.
41:00 am I crazy, or was that an Ed Gamble laugh I heard?
Joanne and John are Homer and Grimey, respectively, from the Simpsons. Joanne has no idea what's happening, blindly stumbles into some points (wtf with the music task getting 3?), and meanwhile John toils away, churning out one competent performance after the next, his lifetime of well-rounded self-improvement on full display, and he's more likely to be mocked and graded down for it than not. If the final task wasn't blind, she would have gotten 3 or 4 instead of 1.
John did so well on that song
I was so worried Sophie was going to shatter a glass during her percussion piece

Nick’s glee at finding the fish - wholesome ❤
I liked the Ross Geller arm pinch communication by John. I don't know if it was intentional but it made me laugh!
I am convinced they played the wrong part of Vivaldi's Winter over Sophie's piece. They needed to move up a couple measures, generally a minute and 10 or 15 seconds into the movement. They should have let all the contestants hum the piece they were trying to play. John's was actually really good. If he had made a better instrument, he would have crushed this task.
I'm so happy for Nick!! ❤
That orange juice task was golden
it must be so hard for the crew to film the fish scene without cracking up.. they're bumbling around and the answer is right behind them xD

Although as I learned about it just yesterday - it was so cruel timing
@@ZdzichuWiertara96 i assume studio segments are recorded quite a bit later than recorded tasks since they need to be edited for the studio audience, but would that timing gap be long enough to make a Richardson/Beaumont divorce joke possible?
@@bradkovach I think this was filmed around September last year. Jon and Lucy mentioned that their split has been in the works and they kinda had to go public recently if I understood correctly, but even so, I'll give the benefit of the doubt that this was filmed before Greg knew.
