- Will the mystery of the Secret Task finally be revealed? Alex Horne dutifully records the facts and figures for his beloved boss as the following questions are answered: Why does everyone keep choosing Sam Campbell? Why is Sue Perkins tossing her head like a lion? And, crucially, who will get to wear the Special Hat?
- Komedie
“I’m just glad people are talking about me” is such a great reaction to that task. Sam is amazing
He's very mentally healthy.
He is truly a comedic gem! I’ll never stop laughing about ep 1 Can I ask a question? Are u a child of divorce?
I mean, he is young, beautiful and got over it.
Sam's explanation for his cobalt was actual gold.
pretty sure it's cobalt
@@mlpzaq47good one
Sam is endlessly entertaining
"Online." hahaha
I thought it was more actual cobalt myself.
I'll see myself out :D
To be fair, Julian would be an excellent Bond villain.
He could be amazing as a twist villain. In the spotlight all the time, only revealed to in the end.
I would absolutely go to the pictures for that... I haven't been in 20 years to give context.
RIP Fanny the wonderdog.
Julian le Chiffre
He would make passive aggressive comments until Bond lost all confidence in himself and what he was doing 😂
already been, mr wint and mr kidd are obviously relations of julian's to be found in diamonds are forever
I don't think there's been a friendship like Sue and Susan since Nish and Mark.
We are always seeing them do cool stuff, after all.
Couldn't resist.
@@adamplace1414Don’t resist. I get chills just reading that you typed it.
Oh hey, look at that tree.
Two of the great pairings in TM history, for sure!
I want a spin off them where they do road trips around the countries while solving crimes
They are indeed, Dynamite Chicks.
The "threat" being called "heterosexual male banter" is easily one of my favourite moments of taskmaster
Wot, you got a problem with heterosexual male banter 'en, mate? Eh? Eh? Nahhhhh i'm just jokin' around, yeh? Yer awright, yer awright! Heyyyy! We like to drink with Sreka, 'cause Sreka is our mate! And when we drink with Sreka, they drains it down in 8!
In all 16 series and 8 episodes, that's one of your favourite moments?
@@benjaminbradley780Yes, idiot. They just said that.
@@benjaminbradley780 one of my favourite one line jokes for sure
Alex looked so confused =D
I want to see a Jo Brand and Julian team-up for maximum aggression and minimal movement
🤣🤣🤣
According to Julian's podcast episode, Jo encouraged him to accept the offer to go onto Taskmaster.
Ed needs to make this happen ON the podcast if it ain't gonna happen on the show. ;D
I never want to see Brand again. She didn't deserve to be on the show.
I've seen the comparison quite a bit. I think it's a bit of a false flag though as Joe Brand genuinely didn't care and wanted things over with.
For Julien it feels more like an act and he's secretly actually enjoying himself 😉
I just love how Flossy was so logical and elaborate in her decisions but when it came to the Flamingo she turned into pure child 😂
Well, that was the edit before we knew that she was bribed with hard cash.
@@Prelmable No, after is when she started acting like a kid. Look at her body language, you can see how uncertain and reluctant she is, but she still wants that money.
@@Prelmable I think he means the adorable squirming over wanting the bribe and the desire to stick to the rules. Pure childish Innocence 💕
@@DarkHarlequinYeah, just that adorable, "Would Sam REALLY give me £100?"
@@DarkHarlequin Ye, I don't think what we saw there was pure childish innocence at all. Quite the opposite. That was either script or a proffessional golddigger in the making.
Sue having her own jacket reveal absolutely killed me. I love her so much!
when i went for a wee.........hahah
I thought it was walking a fine line between riffing on a joke and just taking someone's material. Maybe more the latter, even. I dont know.
What are you talking about ?
Susan Wokoma truly proved this episode that her Royal Academy of Dramatic Art degree isn't for nothing. She won both the sleeping task and the final miming task purely on skill. One of the most well-deserved overall episode wins I've ever seen on this show.
Her mimick was on fire! Sue on the other hand... Miau
30 thousand pounds WELL SPENT!
This is exactly what I thought. Her charades in the stage task were spectacular.
30 grand, baby!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lessons learned this week:
100 to Flossy and 30K to RADA = Same results
Sue Perkins wardrobe is on point in this episode
The Sues are such a good pair/ team
and everyone is talking about Sam
Have you been leaving a comment like this every week? If so I have to go seek them out!
Brian Blessed is real.
The classic al murray technique
Can this series go on forever, please?
I agree. Great group of people. Love them all ❤
😊exactly what I've been thinking for ever so long!
cheers! and thanks for sending Taskmaster across the pond! l love you all!
This certainly is a particularly good series.
I could watch Lucy do tasks for the rest of my life
I'm not even to the final task and this might be the most amazing singular episode of Taskmaster EVER!
Sue and Susan are a top tier taskmaster pair, they have such natural chemistry!
I want to see them in a buddy cop show with Julian as the bad guy, always exasperated by his underlings Lucy and Sam.
How do we convince Alex to make Teampion of Teampions?
@@homagetogorto best idea ever!
The natural friends
Not since Jo Brand and David Beddiel have I seen a more complimentary duo on Taskmaster !
... I really want to see Sue Perkins and Susan Wokoma make a nice sandwich and have a cup of tea together in the Taskmaster kitchen now... Because I don't think even they will heat up the sausages and soften the butter... Maybe they'll be that delightful... but I can't imagine it...
... But I still want to see their attempt !
Every single word from Julian has purpose and intent. He never utters an extra unnecessary syllable ❤❤❤
He has the correct quotient of Contempt and Compliance. Nothing could be more appropriate for this show.
When in doubt bribe a child, this season is amazing
Shades of that early season where Al Murray was constantly buying his way through the tasks! Pretty cool to see Sam bring the bribes back for old time's sake.
@@gfox9295 Bribing a 3rd party feels much fairer than bribing Alex though. Not to mention that Flossy's reactions were infinitely more adorable.
@@gfox9295Al was just depressing. This was more interesting.
@@junbh2 Aw. Maybe I've warmed a bit towards Al thanks to his Taskmaster podcast appearance(s?)... turns out he lives just down the street from the Taskmaster house and he really is a big fan of the show and all. Things that were not really revealed during his series.
@@QuantumHistorian Flossy's reactions were definitely a big plus to that episode. Has she been on the show before, I feel like there's been a few eps with kids reacting to stuff the contestants did but I think it was different kids...
Love that even the anti-team task couldn't turn them against each other. 😂
Well, it didn't say they couldn't collaborate, and it did say the task ends when they all find the secret task.
We need more non-team team tasks.
@@TheBlacktom yep, like the security guard and hi-five tasks
I'm genuinely curious if the secret task has been hidden there all series but no one found it so they arranged for a team task
Lucy is a comedic genius, the sad horn in the shed killed me
The comrodery of this cast is amazing
I'm only a couple of minutes in and had to rewatch her prize task offering over and over. What in the absolute mad genius was that?!
was literally lol-ing at her prize task.
I honestly can tell if she needs professional help or not, but being married to Jon would probably make anyone got a bit off I suppose. don't get me wrong, she is great and so if Jon, but so, so very English Strange.
I wasnt even aware she was married to Jon Richardson!
‘Damn your syntactical vortex!’ Is my new phrase from this show.
I'm astonished that it wasn't the episode title
@@noatrope Although I like the title they went with, I'm gutted for Sue that she never got an episode title this series. Every other contestant got at least one, and Greg and Alex got one each as well. I think she may have missed out on 'Portcullis!' too.
That young girl is going places she had me dying lol “…do you really think he would give me 100 pounds?” Haha
Greg's face after sam's story is the most earnestly lost and confused I've ever seen him 6:27
That was one of my favorite moments ever from the show.
That face to Sam's response of 'online' is such a great combination
You can tell that Sam's particular style of comedy is the kind that fits right into Greg's preferences.
Did no one else notice that Alex asked Sue, "are you a sue-perstitious person, Sue?" There's just the slightest stress on that syllable, but he did! 😂👏
This has been one of the best seasons with a ton of instantly classic tasks. Easily the best show out there right now!
You have to be joking. Tasks have been sh1te.
Yeah, I dunno about the best tasks of all time... but EPIC CAST!
How'd you leave the comment two days ago if the episode was released just 8 hours ago?
@norandomnumbers I've noticed that for episodes with scheduled releases (therefore on the channel and can be waited for) comments can be left even though the video isn't available yet.
Could Flossie BE any cuter?
Julian, rigging the game: flips the coin into his palm, then decides whether or not to slap it on his wrist. Lucy, insane: has trouble flipping the coin because she wants it to land on her wrist.
Actually, he probably has always slap the coin on your wrist, it is usually not a problem to turn it once more while doing so. So it might look even more consistent. But I believe I would do the same
Lmaooo
“One of your better efforts”: The nicest thing Julian has said to Alex all season, and still a cutting insult
Sam’s bribery has already become of my favorite taskmaster moments of all time
Sues face when she wins a hat is the best thing in all of taskmaster so far :D
When she read what each person would get and seemed more excited about the hat than the point I was so hoping she'd get the hat.
I like her quip About Handmaid’s Tale.
And then Alex went and just crammed it onto her head :D
Not really .
'That fell out of her ear. And then the cat licked it, and the cat disappeared." 'Thank you, Lucy.'
The secret task couldn't have ended any better for this most collaborative cast. It all evened out. Even though Sue lost a point, she a least got the special hat she wanted lol
Susan was just SO good at the final task! Thirty grand, baby! 🥳
I shouted out with excitement when they got it at the last seconds. The Sue's are one of my all time favorite teams, possibly my favorite.
Susan’s Royal acting skills and Sue’s quick wit are an elite Charades combination.
I kept laughing out loud alone in my room from how good this episode was.
I normally run the show on CZcams on my phone. I couldn’t this time. It was too engaging. 👍🏼👍🏼
I scared my cat with my laughing and clapping during the last task 😂
same. fucking golden
Same ! I usually never laugh out loud when I'm alone
I'm always able to laugh alone. I don't need other people for that joy 😆
sam's prize task explanation is the best way anyone's explained their prize task in 16 series
I love how Julian pops up back in the doorframe after Sam enters the TM room for the second time around 15:00
and for Lucy at 15:48 😂
"Maybe it just needs less tosses"
Alex- Fewer
You are my hero sir. I thank you.
I caught that as well. So good. ;D
We should make him honorary captain of the grammar nazi club!
21:39 if someone need it 😂
As a reformed grammar cunt, it's truly annoying loser behavior to correct grammar as though language has some objective correctness.
Sam Campbell is my favorite contestant. Who else is on the Campbell train?
Although, I might add, Julian's prize tasks have been nothing short of absolutely amazing. I wanna own everything he's brought in thus far
The things I'm willing to do for that blazer jacket are downright ugly, but I can also just hand-sew the words into my own coat lining, so. It even has a shimmery purple lining.
@@Killjoy_Mel the sunglasses he brought in with the mirrors so you can see behind you. I thought that was the absolute coolest thing. And then yep, that Blazer.... Julian is one cool maaafk
Sam and Lucy have to be my favorite contestants to date.
Sam with his cunningness and childlike wonder, and Lucy with her never ending bewildered state of confusion and innocence.
Think they're trying a little hard to be quirky
I honestly read "Sam and his cunnilingus" and thought "what did I miss ?" 😂
I adore them... but I really adore the whole group each year. I always start out with trepidation, but end up loving them all. They bring me such joy!
@@redelfshotthefood8213 so true, never a bad line up 🔥
@@pauldaniels2717Sam definitely Lucy just seems to be herself
Every time Lucy presents a prize task, Greg needs to take a moment to compose himself. Love it
This is one of my favorite prize tasks ever. It shows exactly what I love about each of these contestants and how they're all so weird in their own amazing ways.
Individually, they're all great. Together, it's multiplicative. I think this will one day end up being my most rewatched series.
This is the genius of the casting. Creating the right mix is a big part of the charm. And. It’s partly why I watch the foreign language series too. Great chemistry in the Northern European and the Oceania task masters.
@@redelfshotthefood8213 New Zealand Season 2 is top tier chemsitry.
@@dominickucela6144 Oh, yes.
Yeah contestants are like eccentric characters from a dark comedy
I think season 7 with Acaster, Rhod, Wang, Knappett, and Goldiman still edges into first place for me. There was a broader range of personas and, obviously, more conflict. But this season isn't far behind, even if the chemistry is very different.
Omg Lucy killed me with her story. Then Sam… oh my he is just so funny! Where’d you get the cobalt?! “Online” 😂
Gotta love how Julian is always looking out for Lucy
Sam's comedy persona is so precious.
13:10 The "’I'm just glad people are talking about me" comeback to Sue and Susan turning on him when everyone was expecting a more resentful remark was the greenest flag I have ever seen. Sam is quickly becoming one of my favourite comedians. He comes across as someone trully sweet, witty, smart and effortlessly funny.
This may be one of the best episodes of the ENTIRE Show.
Oh, there's so many good ones from 12-13-14 especially... but this one is RIGHT up there for sure!
Thought the same!
It is to date the only episode I've ever decided to just watch again straight after finishing it.
Everytime Julian speaks, it's just amazing. Not a single missed shot
Almost snorted water up my nose laughing when Lucy was looking only ONE side for a 2 sided coin! And RADA tied by a blackmailing flamingo 😅
And then her complete inability to flip a coin even though she was the only one who found the double headed coin
Alex said Flossy got her £100, but in book vouchers!
I was gonna ask if she ever got paid. Book vouchers are not bad at all. Well done, Sam!
I do feel a bit bad about that, she probably had something in mind she wanted to do with the money. If it was books, good for her, but otherwise I think the money should have gone to the parents and they could've given it to her to spend on whatever (within reason).
"You've got a problem?" - Julian sliced Alex once again, my favourite this season, right on the top with Ardal, Bob, Frankie and Joe Lycett.
And Lucy is amazing, you never know what she is going to say the next second, she's such a treat:)
Greg is very generous with the points for Sam though, kinda kills the mystery with the winner of the series, but still it's a great one.
So many greats over the years. Tree Wizard, the potato, Alex’s dodgeball, Liza T’ cake... the grapes in the bowl, Rhod’s satsuma... on and on it goes...
Sam is the only person in the season that ever had any chance to win this. This season and the last two there's only been one winner.
Greg foreshadowed it when he said at least 3 of this season were going to be absolute rubbish.
i love the relationship the contestants have this series. like while i love the banter they have with each other in other series and i know it's part of the bit when they do fight, but like this cast is so wholesome and supportive of each other and they really are all just there for a good time and it's still really funny!
and i just love how weird they all are
like look how offended sue and susan got at "this is not a team tast" is so cute
This was the best episode yet for comedy, and Susan managed to impress me with her acting skills. I actually believed her sleep walking, it was that good, and her charades were so clear!
Hm, I wonder where she learned to act so well.
I guess we'll never know.
@@steve470 You reckon she went to school for it?
I was sure it would be a classic over promise under deliver but she nailed it! 60 grand, baby!
Yeah, it was a good decision to not go down the steps outside like Julian had, for one thing. Great job all around, though!
@@seandesautelle9283 Eh, I doubt it. If she had, she probably would have mentioned it at some point.
This is genuinely one of the best seasons of all taskmasters. I wish this season had 50 eps!
So funny from the start. Sam's non sequitur story and Lucy's were amazing. Sue and Susan are a joy.
I have binge watched since season 1. I discovered the show when they were on season 14. During season breaks I rewatch my favorite seasons. The world is dark and feels like it's getting darker. Taskmaster makes me feel better
I feel you
I give myself cheat breaks (breaks between diets) cramping disgusting fried food, processed ones also choc will kill me, but makes the world a little _less_ dark.
whatever helps...hope u find a way.
Lucy saying "Where are my socks" was possibly one of the funniest things that's ever happened on this show!
You can tell that Sue and Susan are going to keep this friendship going for a long time to come.
Knowing the og luck task I’m so happy some of them found the coin, but I was SCREAMING for Sam to actually notice it was double-sided 🤦♀️😂 And Lucy continues to tickle my funny bone just right. Her “alien device” nonsense had me in tears yet again 🤣🤣
Yes! Just watched that one from the NZ one. Was hilarious to see them find it, but only the one who went looking for it realizy
At first I only saw the letters “UCK”, and my eyes got really wide when the contestants read out “complete the fortune trail”
Sue's smug expression when she opens her jacket, and Greg's reaction to it are nigh perfect comedy.
Flossy's reaction to the bribe was golden!
Sam you sick man, corrupting an innocent child! xD
At some point in the episodes remaining, Flossie needs to show up and demand her money.
Alex confirmed on twitter that she received £100 (in book tokens)
I adore Susan prancing around throughout her turns in the live task. She's so adorable, and genuinely very talented!
@15:01 Julian over Sam's shoulder shows that he cares
I love it!
Yeah, this is my favorite series. By far.
The way the contestants genuinely get on and try to help each other win makes for an even more pleasant watch
This price task was the most chaotic and most funny one in a long time
Well the prompt wasn't really specific. Best object. Single word. That's it basically. Bring in almost anything.
I love that the prize tasks have gotten more and more unhinged and verbose series upon series. You can't just bring in "The most amazing thing" anymore, it has to be "The most amazing thing that you can place on top of an air conditioning machine that weighs less than 5 lbs and would make someone go 'What is that?'". 😂
prize* The words "prize" and "price" have completely different meanings.
Greg hasn't laughed this hard in any of the other series. They are easily his favorite 5!!!🥰🥰
Sam Campbell is an international treasure
sam campbell continues to be my favorite contestant on the show 😆
God i love Alex's dedication to being unfunny. His stand-up's so the same energy and it's great and hard to do well. Like, he had to have really *practiced* doing that "all five..........prizes" as underwhelmingly as possible, because the timing was so perfect not leaving a beat, and you instinctively want to give it some *umph* instead of just continuing on blithely. Such a gem.
The little smirks on Julian’s face during the secret task task lol are hilarious and adorable
Normally a cast has one or two favorites, but everyone in this season is marvelous!
Greg's impressions this episode 😂 also julian is still on the war path against alex and the sues are united as ever
so happy everyone has a win now!
Yep! My wife and I were rooting hard for Lucy to win an ep... then she won TWO IN A ROW. So it was down to Susan, and she didn't disappoint! ;D
When we saw she was in a 3-way tie for the lead just before the live task at the end of the ep, we knew it was ON. Team task just made it all the more dramatic, tho!
@@gfox9295 @gfox9295 same here! Lucy's win was such a surprise for even her but she is higher in series score so susan was actually the season underdog. For some reason i didn't even register she had a chance this episode until it happened, but this truly was her episode 🥳
@@bisma1352 Heh, yep.
On a similar note... I keep meaning to check back through all the old series and see which ones had only 3 or 4 people with wins.
My feeling is that early on (especially before there were 10 eps per series) there were quite a few of those. Heck, there might have been a season with only 2 winners? Nah, probably not. Usually 3 or 4.
@@gfox9295 yeah i remember it distinctly when everyone getting to win at least one episode became a thing even the contestants and greg alex cared about. IIRC it was Mike or someone who had an upset where they were winning the ep but then they lost last task or something and the whole studio was sad for them
but yeah I'd be surprised if there's any where only 2 won.
@@bisma1352 Presumably you're thinking of Judi Love in series 13, which is probably the most infamous moment of a contestant blowing their lead, but Mike Wozniak actually did have a similar episode where he won every single task except for the live one, but it resulted in him losing his lead to Lee Mack
Dad Julian and his baby Sam, helping aunt Lucy. The goodest boys! ♥
Julian is definitely my favorite! The way he shuts down alex is just perfect lol
This cast is simply phenomenal! Taskmaster is always great, but this series has been truly special - haven't enjoyed myself this much since season 9 I think!
Watching the Sue’s friendship blossom has been truly beautiful. 💕
I eagerly await the inevitable compilation that will be made after this series of all of Julian’s barbs to Alex.

I’m glad the zanyness gives you comfort. If you need more, the show has been recreated in Danish, Swedish, in Australia and New Zealand. The last two are in English, but the others are subtitled in english. Best wishes for the future.
hey
It's so fun, I laugh/ smile just thinking about it! Definetly helped my emotional struggles too
Greg you need to live for at least another 30 seasons please ❤
Someone needs to get Greg some Totems
the fact that someone backstage helped Sue tape that "fck off" on her jacket to tell off Greg is AMAZING 😂
I spent the last few weeks obsessively catching up on Taskmaster, this is my first time watching a brand new episode. Thrilled to be here with y'all. 😊
"Every poo has a silverlining!" 😂😂😂
I really hope there will be some specials or even a series where top voted audience favorite contestants would come back for a few more tasks.
The ones winning the most points are not necessarily the most fun or popular contestants.
There’s been 2 champion of champions so far. And I thoroughly enjoyed both.
I wanna see the weirdest contestants compete in a 2nd chance series
Yes! I nominate Lucy, Bridget, Rhod, Fern, and James. I actually find Bridget quite irritating but there's no doubt she's weird.

I don't think I've laughed this hard during any other episode of the series.
Completely agree and I'm watching since it started. This one was very very special.
Same, I think it might be my favorite episode ever though it is hard to pick just one 😂
If this were series 15, they'd be arguing til sundown about the phrase "standard coin toss", and never would let go of the fact that Lucy's 2-headed coin wasn't "standard".

"Damn your Syntactical vortex" has got to go in the quote book
What an episode. From the start, with the banter and the perfectly timed "drumroll - prizes" from Alex, then the prize task itself... maaan I loved it
This episode might just be one of my absolute faves. I cracked up at the prize task and actually clapped and cheered with Sue and Susan at the end. ❤
There is NO way anyone would have found the secret task without all those clues.
When they first showed the frame of Greg’s portrait in the main room, I instantly saw the black TM and thought “that’s a task”, albeit I thought it was a black envelope/task. Never would’ve suspected a hidden door
@@RichardParker2099 Given how many times we've seen the portrait come down in previous seasons, I would have guessed a task is hiding behind it. Secret door under the logo seems like you have to luck into it.
I was looking for TM as the wax taskmaster seal. Like above the front door, etc.
Depends on the personalities. If one of them were like me, I’d’ve stayed at the house the day I was told there was a secret task. It would’ve been hell at that point I bet. Unless the clues were there all along... could’ve been the clues were added day by day...
Alex made a point to ask the contestants if they had found the secret task each time they sat down in the living room, but never anywhere else. I feel like if they wanted to, someone could have snooped around if they had caught on to that.
This set of contestants shows that great reality TV doesnt have to be people at each other's throats.
Love the genuine comradery! One of my favourite series/seasons in a while
This may be one of the very best individual episodes of this show period.
“[drumroll] prizes“ Is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen Alex do
Sue's miming in the final task was probably a top 20 moment in show history for me. Absolutely hysterical
juliqn is so good at the timed tasks (I think he's one almost eery single one) despite traveling at what can only be describes as a leisurely pace
I’m going to miss this show when the season is over, waiting for the next season to start. Maybe I can go back and watch over again from the very first episode.
