There are some songs sung by some singers that, upon first hearing, you know you will be coming back to for the rest of your life. This is one of those very rare songs by a stupendously talented singer and interpreter. What's almost unbelievable is that so many of Richard's "Song a Day" performances make that list.

Ahhh...BEAUTIFUL !!! Roberta definitely put this song on the map, but the writer needs credit. English/ Scottish Ewan MacColl fell in love and wrote this for a woman that became his future wife. Hearing a man with such a beautiful voice like yours doing this song justice... gave me goose bumps, but also made my eyes well up.... just, Superb !!! Richard, There is one song that comes to mind that might fits your talent. its a song written by Rob Hyman, {the Hooters} and the one who sang it to a hit Cyndi Lauper, "Time after Time" the words are so beautiful and i think your voice would give a new dimension to it. later !
I hate to admit it, but you were right to leave Collabro to sing "your way and songs right for you.". Your sparkling personality has blossomed and happiness is all over your face. Well I have loved this song for too long to remember although it’s a hard ask for even some of the greats to beat Roberta Flack’s take on it (which most of the covers emulate in their melody). However in places I almost heard the Ewan MacColl/Peggy Seeger original melody creep in.
It’s notable that MacColl pretty much hated every cover of his song which he wrote for Seeger, however Flack’s take on the melody, much slower tempo & emotional vocal propelled it into the stratosphere making it her huge breakout hit, & the version most folk recognise.
Kudos for taking on such a landmark track & giving it the Hadders touch. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Roberta Flack's cover came out in 1969 (album) and 1972 (single). The song is from 1957.

I love your voice and how expressive you are when you sing! You remind me of a good friend who could also sing extremely well. We were in choir together in school and put on a production of Amall and the night visitors. He did a solo of 'this is my box". I would love to hear you sing that!
