O my lord, that was the best I've ever heard that sung. I'm sobbing my heart out.💔 One of my mum's favourites. She passed away last march just after lock down. Sadly there was only 7 at her funeral as all her friends were shielding. I would love to play that at her celebration of life service, whenever that will be. Her other favourite was "the holy city". I would love to hear you sing that if you would please. ♥️
I have heard Miro Lanza sing this song for many long years HOWEVER! let my say that The moment that Richard began this song I imminently heard a higher recording & voice quality than i have ever heard before regarding this song! Richard this is not a hymn. It is a song from the movie 'The Student Prince' n sung by Mario Lanza. You will find many of his beautiful songs in this movie. It is a very, very old movie. He basically was an Opera singer. You have done justice to his voice. Well done.

Oh Richard, how wonderful that was.. I have only heard it sung by Mario Lanza when he did the film about Enrico Caruso, but I have heard it many times played by different Brass Bands.. My husband played the Euphonium solo, of this song, a few times and it really touches the heart and soul..
Thank you for this wonderful rendition and also for sparking memories of my beloved husband who passed away 3 and a half years ago..

my father died in June 2020 and was a big Mario Lanza fan so we had it at his funeral then my wife passed away in May 2021 and unbeknown to me had this song played at her funeral (she changed it just before she died) I must admit you are a very close second to Mario (that is a big compliment).
When I was growing up, I would laugh at my father because tears would roll down his cheeks while listening to really incredible voice. Now I just got to see your video and still laughing, this time, at myself. Incredible song and incredible voice. 😲👍

Bravo! Magnificent! The song was written for the film "The Student Prince" in 1954, by Nicholas Brodsky, lyrics by Paul Francis Webster. In a way, the song was written for Mario Lanza, who sang the tenor parts for the film and recorded them prior to filming. Mario Lanza was to play the lead role but due to a director's dispute was replaced with E. Purdom who lip synced to Lanza's voice. Mario Lanza was the first person to sing the song and has set the high bar for all those who follow! You, Richard Hadfield did it justice and I believe Mario Lanza would approve. Mario Lanza was revered in London and did a few concerts there during his short life. He died in Rome at the age of 38. Perhaps you may have seen his most famous film "The Great Caruso". If not, please see it. You will know why he was called "The American Caruso". I wish you luck in your career and hope to see you at a concert here in NYC!

Hi Richard I first heard and seen you when you opened the first audition song on BG talent ..You won the show for Collabro .!!My husband died just before the final he thought the same .Collabro came to The Sands in Carlisle where my Daughter and I.met you back stage ,a treat for me and your singing got me through a difficult time .You and the group sang the song from Ghost and dedicated it to me sitting on the front row .My daughter said she hadn't cried as much since watching the film Titanic .😂Could you sing the song Perhaps Love ,one of the late great John Denver songs and a favourite of my Johns favourite.Im sure your beautiful voice will do it.more it justice ?Please get an album out and add the song I've just listened to I'll Walk with God .Amazing .!!
