In just a month since our last visit, we make our way back to do yet another aerial tour of the Newest Hotel to be built in the parish of Trelawny, Jamaica. We are talking about the Hotel Riu Palace Aquarelle!
This Hotel is the newest member of the Riu Hotels family in Jamaica, with there being two (2) properties in Negril, Hanover section namely: Hotel Riu Negril & Hotel Riu Palace Tropical Bay. Three (3) properties in Montego Bay, St. James namely: Hotel Riu Montego Bay, Hotel Riu Palace Jamaica & Hotel Riu Reggae and one (1) property in Ocho Rios, St. Ann which is: Hotel Riu Ocho Rios. This property in Trelawny now completes four (4) out of six (6) of the northern parishes on the Island and makes it Riu's seventh (7th) Hotel on the Island.
With the proposed opening date of May 4, 2024, the Hotel is on schedule to be opened on time and is well on the way in meeting it's deadline. We gave a promise that we would visit and as always, we always try to keep our promises.
This property sits adjacent Royalton Trelawny (Royalton Blue Waters & Royalton White Sands), a property we covered in 2022. We booked the Princess Grand Jamaica Jun30-Jul7,2024. The Platinum swim-up room.
However my booking was cancelled since the hotel not yet ready.
I am so so sad.
I am still waiting for the updates for the Princess Grand.
Also, Riu Palace Aquarelle can be our replacement.

Terribly sorry to hear about your experience at Princess Resorts. Not sure what is causing the delay but we've been getting information about persons having similar experiences to yours.
Riu Aquarelle will be and is smaller, but the amenities may just be as good. Whatever you decide, we know it'll be the best choice just like choosing to watch our video 🙂.

Hi. You would have to make contact with the Resort regarding information like that.
It's great to see that Jamaica is trying but please be careful of these foreign investments. They often invest for themselves and not the locals.
The saying you never see smoke without fire. With all that investment from China it's little wonder the outburst is so angry towards our closer relationship with Africa. Be careful of digging holes and installing traps.
