  • Everyone is always asking me how I go about finding my best fishing spots. While I’m not going to give them away, I decided today to show ever one how I go about finding new fishing spots. Using Google maps often called the “google maps challenge” for some reason. This is a great way to find a new location to fish and explore. Today I bring everyone along for the ride while I explore some new waters in search of some native Maine brook trout. Stay tuned to find out how the day progresses and maybe go try this spot out for yourself.

No disrespect to Maine as this is a gorgeous land. I came here in search of the Brook trout, I'm from Montana and I am very disappointed. In Montana there are literally dozens and dozens of streams full of trout in a five mile radius. I hit Baxter and nothing, I caught the biggest shad I have ever seen which is kind of neat but, no trout. I searched for brookies because in Montana they have poisoned them out of our lakes and rivers and replaced them with native West slope cutthroat trout.
