Side note: Taylor swift would love ur headphones
do you think? that's pretty cool
@@PopAt50 yeah she loves cats !! She has an album called ‘lover’ which aesthetic is exactly like the headphones !
This song was inspired by a book called 'Rebecca'. When Taylor discovered the book, she wrote this song from the perspective of Rebecca.
ah, gotcha!
is there any of pdf vers for this book?
I'm so glad that you caught the pain & vulnerability in this song (in fact, the 5th song on every Taylor album is the most heartbreaking one). There's speculation that it's about Princess Diana & Charles or perhaps some literary characters Taylor read about during quarantine. She could have also pulled from past relationships but she has been in a very healthy relationship with a guy a year younger then her for about 6 years now so it's not about her this time!
i could hardly fail to catch it, hahah. it's so well constructed.
Taylor has said that the song is based on the 1938 Novel Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. The themes are very similar.
Caught it? It’s not subtle 😂
This song is a wonderful depiction of what it might have felt like if Rebecca were a real person. (Taylor said she was inspired to write this song while reading the book Rebecca)
Taylor really has diverse discography.
You listen this and then go to 1989, you would think it's different singer.
I don't know if No Body, No Crime by Taylor is on the list, but it should definitely be 🤠
it is now!
My marriage is pretty rough atm. My daughter heard this song and asked me what it was about and I told her the wife adores the husband but he just tolerates her and she said "is that what Daddy's doing?" I hope not!
im so sorry to hear that. hope you guys can work things out.
I consider Coney Island (feat. The National) as the male perspective of this song. In it, the narrator laments not giving more of themselves to the person they are/were with. You should react to it.
i got you!
Yeah, she makes me dumb-struck sometimes too. An uncanny skill to place you in the middle of her story, making you feel emotional for no apparent reason. I've never personally experienced the narrative of this song, but feel an emotional tie to the characters anyway. Pretty amazing lyricism that can do that.
I think it's a pretty common concept in many relationships, at some point one of them could just be staying for the comfort of routine, so while the narrator loves this person very much still, the partner seems to just be going with the motions, not celebrating her love, leaving her alone in the marriage, but never actually leaving, which I think it's worse.
it really is
BY FAR MY FAVORITE SONG OF HER'S CATALOG
excellent!
This one is so painful. And the way she tells the story, makes you feel everything. She really is a storyteller: you around 7:05 mark to the narrator: “and you what? What???”
More Taylor, please.
i felt so many things during this song. my god. more taylor is always coming!
Your reaction to the first time listen is pretty much how we all were the first time we don't quite know how to process it😭
right? it's pretty heavy stuff
Taylor did write this song inspired by a book, i haven't read the book but I interpret this song as the woman feeling unappreciated by her partner, and the song sums up what she's thinking. She never voices out her thoughts, thus why the song ended circling back to "I sit and watch you". I think many people have this thought while in a relationship but decided not to act on those emotions.
react to her song 'my tears ricochet' amazing song good lyrics and imagery
Love your reaction videos! I think you should do Exile and / or Illicit Affairs
exile is coming!
I didn’t read through all the comments, but Taylor wrote this after reading the novel Rebecca by the author Daphne du Maurier.
Also, one aspect of the song that wasn’t mentioned is that there seems to be a power or a class difference in the relationship. I haven’t read the novel but he’s obviously older than his partner. The book is from the 1930s so while she toys with leaving it is even harder for her to do than it would be today.
I would wacth taylor's swift reactions the whole day hahahhahaha
well there's always more comin so strap in lol. champagne is friday and tis the damn season is august 17!

We are here for it. Swifties will lift you up always that for sure.
Check out songs on her reputation album. They are more upbeat. “I did something bad” “getaway car” or goods one to start with!
i have both of those recorded, great stuff.
Random, but have you reacted to any 21 Pilots? I would love to know your take on some songs..
Hi I've been to ur channel several times and finally subscribed. I'm hoping more Taylor and how about more older Billie eilish? How about when we all fall asleep where do we go? Thank u 😊
Thanks for subbing! i always have another Taylor just over the horizon, do you have specifics for the Billie Eilish? I do like her a lot
@@PopAt50 you should react to wish you were gay its a catchy song it’s about a guy who rejected her.
Great video! Please react to No Body No Crime, is one of my favorites from Taylor
on the list!
Erm, if you want something a bit more uplifting, WITH a music video, that is pretty fantastical, (&follows cardigan directly) then check out Willow.😎
Did you do Don't Blame Me yet?
nope
@@PopAt50 it's my favorite from her, give it a listen you won't regret it.
React to Exile next. I always feel like Exile is so heartbreaking in the sense that Tolerate It is.
it's comin
@@PopAt50 Great! Come to think of it, the one being tolerated just had enough and gave up so Exile happened. Looking forward to how you see it.
YESSSSS
glad you dig it!
I have a question about you headphones
sure, what is it?
@@PopAt50
I really hope don’t think I’m making fun or things like that
I’m already a subscriber and I love your reactions and how you analyze the lyric especially Taylor Swift’s
So my question is why did you choose this type of kids headphones 🎧 or was it a gift or idk I don’t normally see people at your age loving these cute stuff so I though maybe it was a gift from your kid
@@droptherecord6468 nono, it's cool. I like being silly. i grew up pretty serious, in serious circumstances, so now that im adult all these years i look for the silly when i can get it!
@@JammersMetalMischief
Are you PopAt50 ?
Anyways yeah it’s great silly stuff are just the funniest thing it gives a great feeling when you don’t be serious and act your age always
❤
😁
Cowboy like me by Taylor swift please react ☺️
it's on the scehdule!
Listen to evermore by taylor swift ft. Bon Iver
I’d be curious to have you listen through a song without stopping. Her music is so beautiful and a full story. Stopping to be literal doesn’t work 😆
“overthinking” & “perceived pain” is literally where women live. Sorry dude… 😆 Also, telling a woman that her feelings are all in her head and just her perception is super misogynistic… I don’t think you mean it that way so I’m gonna give you a pass but some of what you said sounds super gaslighty 🤦🏻♀️
that's not where i was going, but i see what you're saying. I frequently overthink things terribly, and they're almost never true. i did it just last night when i didn't get a text answer. this morning everything in my head that kept me awake all night was proven wrong. possibly my phrasing could have been better, but my perception was "sounds just like me"
Please do "We are Never Ever Getting Back Together" LIVE version from 1989 tour!
Ah-greed! The rock/punk version is amazing!
More taylor Swift reactions
always more coming!
Um. If you're talking about the character ridiculously overthinking it, just close your eyes, put yourself in her shoes, and just FEEL IT.
i *was* feeling it. i constantly overthink things, im in a situation right now that parallels that song just a little too much right this second, i was *identifying!!
@@PopAt50 That's tough friend! I'm so sorry!
React to justin bieber no pressure pls
I always thought this song sounded a bit like a young child who really admires her father but her father isn’t emotionally present for her.
🌹
i dont know that emoji hahah
I’m so sorry everyone was recommending her saddest songs to you lol
