He's lying because Bret had a camera crew with him on that specific occasion filming his documentary knowing what was happening. There's no way in hell they were sweeping it under the rug and that Russo asked why. Everything was already set before Russo took his morning dump.
So many differnet recollections of what happened that night. One lingering question ive always had that makes no sense is...bret claims he hit vince with an uppercut on the chin, vince claims he got hit in the temple...yet he had a black eye? Uh, how? 🤔🤔
None of us will ever know exactly what went down. I don’t believe it was a work, it surely could have been but I don’t believe it. It’s professional wrestling, it’s all a work, when it’s not a shoot.
What I love about the Montreal Screw Job, is it was all Bret hart and Vince Mcmahon. It was the biggest story in wrestling history, yet H.B.K. H.H.H. Russo, EVERYBODY wants to take credit for coming up with the idea, which was originally conceived by Vince Mcmahon and Bret Hart.
Do you think Vince would allow footage of him staggering down the hallway after getting socked by Bret and for it to be published in his documentary? It was all a work, quid pro quo.
Ever notice how literally everyone has a different version of events as to what actually happened and who came up with the idea? I wouldn't believe Russo if he told me I was on fire same wirh Bruce Pritchard. The latter is so concerned about protecting himself and not saying anything untoward Vince and the WWE because he wants to toe the company line because he doesn't want his gravy train to dry up. I preferred wrestling when we were the marks not the jackasses in the ring and backstage
@@popeyedoyle6360 Russo didn't invent the Blue Blazer gimmick. Owen was using that gimmick in the 80's, and then returned to it during the Attitude Era, some say as punishment for refusing to take part in a storyline that would have involved him having an affair with a female wrestler.
Ever asked yourself why Vince and Hogan had a falling out? Because the both do the same stuff, taking as much possible credit for every situation they have ever been in. That means they see each other as an intruder
Vince Russo is full of shit, this did not happen. Taker said that he sat with Bruce Prichard in gorilla posistion until the last match and Prichard sent him away because they were filming the entrances there for "wrestling with shadows" and he didn't want Taker to be there while they were filming. Bruce Prichard was mad at Taker because he seen him guard McMahon's office and Taker was mad at Prichard because he sent him away. They both thought the other one knew and in reality neither of them did. McMahon was going to use the "Wendy Richter/Fabulous Moolah" which was a fast count whether Bret's shoulders were down or not. Cornette gave McMahon the sharpshooter finish and he did not even know it until the next night when it happened. Cornette said that it was the one time he did not want his finish to get used and it did. Cornette also said that it was the first of his finishes that McMahon used in months.
The moment vince said have him put him in his own move that’s when you know all of this was a lie. Russo had no influence or part of the screw job lmao. Shawn didn’t even come up with the sharpshooter spot until that day they went over the match lmao.
I don't believe this for one minute.

Me neither bro
Why not, bro? He's the master mind of Montreal Screwjob, bro. Blame him Russo, bro.
U can tell when Vince Russo lying when he opens his mouth
@faceones Were you there, bro?
Hulk Hogan : brother
Vince Russo : bro
I always felt that Vince was right when he said, “Bret screwed Bret”.
@That 80's Dude Bret did screw Bret and Macho Man is my fav of all time.
Well if you " felt" that it must be true! I said the same thing when Vince said you "felt" your sisters!
I think black eye Vince was just make up not real to complete the story

I like Jim Cornette's take on Vince Russo's claim that he came up with the idea of the screw job. Vince is usually full of shit.
Russo was the head writer at the time unlike Cornette and Russo's side of the story has always stayed the same so his take is more believable.
It was cornettes idea to screw Bret hart.

Jim Cornette said no one had any idea, and why would people want to take credit ?
Triple H has never taken credit for it and Shawn just 10 years ago even admitted his part in it. This comment makes no sense

no hbk nor hhh ever took credit. hbk said he knew which he had too he was in the ring. it is vince russo idea

LOL Vince had no choice they had a contract with that company to record backstage since they were doing a DOCUMENTARY.
Hart should've drop the belt and gone on his way. His fault for not doing what's best for wrestling.

How would it benefit Russo to lie?
Vince gave an order, in addition to passing the torch being an honored tradition, and Bret said no. That's what happened.
"I loved Owen Hart to death." Says the guy who booked Owen as the Blue Blazer.
Owen never called him saying Bret was going to disown him. Stupidest shit ever
Wasn't he the blue blazer before tho? like in the early 90s?

Russo wasn't with the company anymore. Moron.
Sorry Russo, this wasn’t your idea, this was Jim cornettes idea.
Is that the same gym that had 2.0 ratings along with Bruce "Bitch" Prichard
The guy wanted to leave the company. Still champion. No debate. Right thing was done. End of story
Brett should have sued WWE for breach of contract
He could have, but Vince could have countered-sued with assault when Bret punched him; Vince knew exactly what he was doing.
He would have lost.
Isn’t it against the law having someone ears drop without telling the other person on the phone?
