- An investigation is underway after a dog was found in a remote area of Malibu Creek Canyon with zip ties over its muzzle and neck. KTLA's Rachel Menitoff reports on July 8, 2024.

I had this happen before, someone left a dog out in the streets of SF, when we decided to take care of her, she had a brain tumor that was incurable and we watched her slow decay. She was super sweet and it was nice for her to die knowing she was loved

My Dog was just yesterday diagnosed with a heart murmur and two lumps which need excising and biopsies (but she needs to be sure to have strong enough heart to be anesthetized), I will absolutely be with her to the end. She is between my arms sleeping as I type this. I hope the same can happen for this pup.

I think he really needs a caring foster/adoption like you- ESPECIALLY if he has cancer. Love is the only thing that really heals. What will they give him for 'treatment', I wonder? Poisons/chemo, which will likely kill him? That said, UPenn did a study (anyone can google it) showing that a certain kind of mushroom was effective in eliminating canine lymphoma- with NO side effects. I hope that this vet is resourceful in investigating treatments that 'do no harm'.

Luckily there are 2 rescue organizations (In Defense of Animals & Peace 4 Animals) that are willing to cover his medical costs and will place him in foster home as soon as he gets the ok from a vet so that he hopefully doesn't have to be euthanized 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Beautiful doggo. Whoever left him there wanted him gone. He looks old and they didn't want to deal with it. In this situation, just leave it in a shelter. His sad eyes makes want to cry.

They are right about the person that did this. They are very dangerous, has likely done this before and will do it again. Also likely have harmed people possibly children. This person needs to be found. So good the hikers found this dog before it was too late.

How cruel. GSDs are the most affectionate and loyal dogs you can get. I've had 3, all rescues. I lost my last GSD boy to old age 4 years ago. He was 14. Never a day goes by that I don't think of him. I miss him every day and wish he was still here. I hope this poor boy can be helped and finds a family that will truly love him and give him the life he deserves.
