- Harrison Ford spoke to “Extra’s” Melvin Robert at the L.A. premiere of “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” his final film as that adventuring archaeologist. Harrison’s “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” co-star Ke Huy Quan - a recent Oscar winner - crashed the chat for a sweet red-carpet reunion! Harrison also spoke about Father’s Day plans and if we could ever see him team up with fellow action legend Tom Cruise.

“You call him Doctor Jones!” Literally brought me to tears. Such an awesome reunion!
He sounded exactly the same!
Hey lady, you call him Dr. Jones.
His professional name!
They are actors haha 😂
PURE NOSTALGIA!!!
Short Round saved Indy from answering interviewers stupid questions! 😂😂
The guy just didn't get the hint. Why ask Harrison about Tom Cruise and another movie series. Harrison even tried to end the topic in a classy way and this guy just kept going. Ke saved this interview
It seemed like the interviewer had been told you have this much time to fill and he was desperately asking anything to make up the time. It was so awkward.
Truth! Especially as Cruise is a schmuck and Ford is far superior to him.
Just like he saved him from the BLACK SLEEP OF KALI-MA.
I've never seen Harrison interviewed and not come across as a total twat. This was no different.
Hearing Ke say “Indy” and Harrison smiling absolutely made my day ❤❤❤
Indy & Docta Jones ❤
He smiled for the first time all day when he saw Ke!! He only smiles for people he actually cares about?
I found it funny and sweet how he dance and jumped for joy behind him!
My childhood came rushing back with that 😊
Proof that Ford isn't always a grumpy old man; you can absolutely hear it in his voice how much he adores Ke.
Its only because he knew Short Round as a kid and now won an Oscar! Was it someone else..he would have said FK off
@@Robd07 I totally disagree. Ford is a big star. He doesn't have to be nice to anyone he doesn't want to.
Now if it were say Tommy Lee Jones, I'd agree. But not Harrison. Harrison is too genuine and if he doesn't like someone or something, he'll say it.
@@lucakat9262 somethings wrong with that guy. Either he has some serious sense of dry humor no one gets and is purposely laughing at home with his wife that he had a Wonderful day being a jerk to fans... or hes just dead inside. Its like hes not happy and just 'forced' to do these on camera interviews. I just dont get it.
@@Robd07 whatever you want to think.🤷♀️
@@Robd07 watching Harrison Ford on Conan O'brien's recent podcast, I am thinking his sense of humor is dry humor and he's probably a bit dead inside but still wants to express humor.
You can see the relief on Harrison’s face when Ke interrupted the interview lol. Not that you can blame him with the totally dumb questions he was being asked. It’s nice to see the genuine pride he has for Ke’s success and who wouldn’t Ke seems such a genuinely lovely guy
True, Melvin Robert is a total hack. If Ford has a reputation for being grumpy, it comes from being interviewed by guys like him.
You rarely see Harrison being genuinely delighted/happy, not in interviews, not in movies, but here!!
I love that ke instantly turns into his kid self whenever he see Harrison and you can feel how proud he is of ke.
I love the great respect Harrison showed to Ke here. He of course sees him as the boy from temple of doom, but also as the man, the established actor in his own right. Of course Ke probably could care less and loves Ford and continues to look up to him, but it's special nonetheless. You can tell its all real love between these two.
He may hate a role or a movie, but he will never hate the people
the way he says "Indy" and "you call him Dr. Jones" are absolutely EPIC
The moment I saw Quan jumping behind Ford with that sweet smile and holding peace signs; I knew it’ll be something great and heartwarming. I love the fact that he acknowledged Quan’s success is his own effort rather than attributing his famed association with him.
Ke is literally a golden retriever in human form
The inage of a golden retriever doing that 😂
Nothing makes the kid in me happier than to see these two embrace.
1:00
Harrison Ford: "You're all grown up!"
Ke Huy Quan: "You call him Dr.Jones!"
Ke Huy Quan is probably one of the few people in the world that actually makes Harrison Ford happy ❤❤
1:01 "YOU CALL HIM DR. JONES!!!!" Love it!!!! 🤣❤❤❤
His voice almost same as a kid I am mad that he didn’t appear it was the perfect time to bring him back
Ke's energy is so positive and vibes are so pleasant, he is someone you want to be around, authentic person, and deserves his success
Absolutely love seeing Harrison’s pretend smile for the interviewer turn into a genuine smile upon seeing Ke Huy Quan ❤
Harrison's whole demeanor changed once he saw Ke. Short Round saved Indy again (from Extra)
Possibly the best sidekick of cinema history.
Absolutely!!
Lmao
No
Marty mcfly and doc
What you talking about
Short Round was the best part of an incredible movie, and his sidekick Indiana Jones was a pretty close second.
@@w1ldcard743 what are you talking about? The op has every right to express his opinion as much as you do. It's just a matter of opinion in the end.
you can tell harrison was happy to see ke, and not happy to have to keep answering these questions. asking an experienced pilot what advice he gets from tom cruise.... yuck! i'm not in the habit of criticising interviewers but this was bad. harrison is too nice
I don't think the interviewer could take a hint. Let the man Mr. Ford do his walk... geez.
Yeah this was a painful interview to watch.
Cruise & Ford are close friends since FOREVER & fellow pilots
Totally agree. Was getting mad on behalf of Harrison toward the end. Rookie interviewer!
Ya how dare a guy do his job
Everybody behind Harrison just waiting for Ke to say hello is just awesome, with the smiles on their faces that Short Round and Indy are reunited once again. So perfect!
Short Round: “Indy, my friend”.
Indy: “Fortune and glory, kid. Fortune and glory”.
Ford always seems to tired and grumpy in interviews (can't really blame him) but everytime Ke is mentioned, he just lights up. I just love that he gets excited to hear about his young friend after so long
Even the security guard couldn't help but smile.
He definitely saw Temple of Doom once or fifty times.
Oh god, my eyes teard up in joy upon seeing Ke walk up behind Harrison and go "Indyyyyyy!" (then laughed when he turned to Melvin and went "You call him 'Dr. Jones!'" 😂😂
0:48 It's Amazing :,D
Ke's face gives a lot of happiness
1:07 Has got to be the kindest way a person could say "I'm proud of you" without actually saying it.
YOU CALL HIM: DR JONES 🤣😂🥰😍
Such great people, both of them ❤
Harrison had tears thinking about their time together and the host had to bring up Father's Day... Their bond is so genuine.
Harrison was just so happy to stop answering the really stupid question.
I’m really happy that Ke and Harrison reunited and I wish Ke had a cameo in Dial of Destiny
Disney doesnt care enough to do that
@@ExplorerOfSkywhy have a good character like Short Round when you could have Helena? /s
Short Round should have reunited one last time in the movie
I think we all hoped short round would have made an appearance. That would have been the icing on the cake.
I wish he was one of the main characters! But no it had to be his smug goddaughter.
The questions couldn´t be worst. The answers couldn´t be smarter. Specially about Ke. "I don´t need to be proud of him. His pride is his own". Take that.
Harrison just completely done with these vapid questions, then Ke bops in like the human sunbeam he is and Harrison's face just lights up. Thank you Short Round for saving Dr Jones once again
Kudos for you! Only a few people notice this.
1984: NO INDY! DON'T DRINK IT, IT'S BAD!
2023: Indy, don't answer the questions!
Short Round was the best part of an incredible movie, and his sidekick Indiana Jones was a pretty close second.
Hard to believe Ke is 51, he has such a youthful vibe bouncing up and down behind Harrison. Doesn’t get much more wholesome than that.
Ke has great energy for someone his age. On the inside, it seems he hasn't aged a day since Temple of Doom.
❤❤the way he calls him Indy and "you call him Doctor Jones" has to warm any heart and bring a smile to your face. So genuine, so heartwarming, so iconic.
Harrison Ford is basically like yeah. I'm 80. I don't care about any of these stupid questions. Ke hey omg! He's wonderful! Oh yeah, dumb questions, idgaf. Love it.
Harrison looked so damn happy for Ke
Man, Disney missed a trick by not having Indie 5 be about the return of Short Round. If anyone deserves to have the spiritual fedora passed to, it's him. Short Round's all grown up and doing his own style of adventuring as Wan Li and Indie gets mixed up in some trouble like Henry Jones Sr. did in Last Crusade, and where Indie goes in for the good fight it's up to Wan Li to go "No Doctor Jones, you rest here. It's my turn to save you now" in a very honorific way. That's a movie I actually want to see
That's going to make me cry. Disney really screwed up big time. I would have rather waited 6 months or a year to see Indiana Jones and Short Round be in a film together.
Indy & Shortround reunited ❤️
These two will always have a special place in each other's hearts
Nothing on earth more wholesome than seeing the slow smile spreading on the security guy’s face when he spotted Ke dancing up to Harrison
I love it that their reunion even made the security guard smile ❤️❤️
I love how these two are always happy to see each other.
I could well imagine Harrison Ford as the villain in the last Mission Impossible movie. Tom and Ford are both at the top of Hollywood. That would be very dynamic!
I'll never get tired of seeing these two together 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
The absolute delight in Harrison's face when he saw Ke makes me so happy
Ke SAVED him from this dire interview! 😂❤❤
Also, it looks like Harrison is about to kiss him on the head at 1:40. And now I love him even more! ❤❤
Amazing to think that of all the actors on that red carpet, only one of them has an academy award. So happy for Ke
I’ve been playing this on repeat and my cheeks are hurting from smiling and being giddy! I miss Short Round and Indy together! 😂😂
His cheeky look when he says "No. It's done by stunt men" 🤣
Not many can hug Harrison Ford like that .... most are too intimidated by the man .... but Ke is like a son of Harrison's who will not grow up as long as Harrison's there in front of him ....
Even the burly bodyguard smiled when Ke showed up.
“You call him Dr. Jones!”
I love it
I love that he still calls him Indy hahaha
Ke should have had a cameo in one of the last 2 movies.
Short Round should have been at Indy's wedding in 4. I mean, that whole church crowd was a great way to slip in some guest stars and the filmmakers populated it with folks we'd never seen
Aww, brilliant to see Indiana Jones and Short Round back together! They worked well in Temple of Doom, which may see...mixed opinions and an incredibly dark story, but this duo is one of the best parts of it. Glad to see Ke out and about! 😄
Both perspective give tears of happiness 🥲
He was almost crying, rare to see Harrison that emotional
Bro saved him from these terrible questions
Seeing these two. 😭
After all those years, im about to cry.
Classic Short Round! 1:01
Two fantastic greater actors love them both if only ke was in Indy 5

i love ke huy so much, every video of him makes me cry knowing there's someone so pure put there in the world, makes me truly believe anything is possible
I feel like Ford was relieved when Ke Huy Quan stepped up because the interview wasn’t the best. I will say that I understand why the interviewer asked about the stunts but the way he worded it wasn’t great. He’s referring to how Harrison was known in the original trilogy for doing some of the stunts. Harrison might have thought that he was only talking about Indy 5 or he’s just being very modest.
Awesome. These two were on the award circuit together. They have seen each other many times.
These two guys had such a great bond in that movie!
The chemistry between shortround and Indy is what makes temple of doom my all time favorite Indy movie!
0:56 Harrison’s demeanour completely changes and completely forgets the interviewer is even there. 1:47 Father’s Day coming up. Huh? 🤦 poor Harrison having to put up with fake idiots all the time.
It seemed like the interviewer had been told you have this much time to fill and he was desperately asking anything to make up the time. It was so awkward.
“You call him Dr Jones doll!”
I will never ever get tired of seeing the videos of these two together again
You call him doctor jones 😂😂😂
That moment itself is a movie😂
“You call him doctor jones” 😭😭🥹🥹
Imagine an Indiana Jones 5 movie with Short Round returns now as adult and an archaeologist, has a wife & daughter but were separated due of him always at work(a reference to Indy's separation with Marian in Indy 4), went to America with his estranged daughter to see Indiana Jones, reunite with Indy who is now retired living with his family and wrote some books based from his adventures from his past(including some references from Young Indiana Jones series) as a bestselling novels for an one last adventure that involve the mysterious El Dorado, fighting some remnants of the Nazis, Nazis kidnapped Short Round's wife as hostage, lots of adventures, puzzles & escapes, Short Round reconciled with his wife & daughter, the founding of El Dorado, the climatic scene between heroes & villains and ends with Indy gives his iconic fedora hat to Short Round symbolizing the passing of a torch.
That would be so cool movie instead what we got in Dial of Destiny.
When your work friend shows up ..now it's a party.😂
1:01 You're all grown up! & You call him Dr. Jones! at the same time lol yes he's grown up and still that boy and I'm crying
Indiana Jones is my biggest childhood hero and Short Round has always been my favorite character after him, for obvious reasons: somehow, I wanted to see myself in him, I wanted to be that kid, living the adventures with Indy! How beautiful it is to see the two of them together after all these years!
Harrison Ford is my favorite actor. And one of my favorite celebrities. One of my favorite people. He’s such a great guy.
Monday 4th December 2023. The friendship between Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones or Indy) and Ke Hu Quan (Short Round) is strong, sweet and warm. I always smile and cry when I see them together. They really are beautiful. Thank you for showing me this. In a way Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom reminds me of The Snow Queen. I don't know why. Anyway best of luck! From Virginia Clark.?! ;) :( :) 🥰🌍🌎🌏🌞🌝🌠🌈
They are both great actors
They way Harrison's whole demeanor changes the moment he sees Ke beside him😍🥰
His voice will never change " Dr. Jones " sounds the same at 10 as it does now!
Two great humble actors !.
0:47 SHORT ROUND!!!
Why did the interviewer decide to make this all about Tom Cruise, and not Harrison Ford, the person he was actually interviewing? o_0
Geez, this interviewer made cringe look good! Thank God for Ke coming along when he did!
Folks.............I think that we just look at this, and just say..................."AWWWWWWWW!!!!!"
There is SO MUCH LOVE between Ke and Harrison. Harrison said that he's proud of what Ke has done............
His joy is so infectious 🥰
Best interview bomb ever. 🤣
Indiana Jones and Short Round reunited nearly 40 years after Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Harrison is so humble and respectful of everyone he works with, seeing him get emotional seeing Ke is enough to make a grown man cry
Ke just transforms back into his 12 year old self whenever he sees Harrison
Harrison three sheets to the wind here. Had a few pre-movie vodkas. And we salute you.
😂he loves doing interviews his facial expressions says it all 😂
He was so over that interview! 😂
WHAT A HEART WARMMING REUNIEN LOVE FROM DENMARK
