You’re brilliant!
Te amo Lari ♥️
Hey Lari, seen a few things that you’ve done; really like the feel you have and your phrasing. Nice to see Rick giving you a shout-out.
You're Amazing!

Wat no Larkin Poe?
@@blaisemacpherson7637 Did I miss a name? Or are you responding to the channel?
@@j.b.6578 The channel. Larkin Poe should have been covered. Megan kicks ass on steele
Maro is simply out of this world, for sure. She came into my radar via Collier but never left again. Such a warm voice and an insanely talented multi-instrumentist! 👌
I first listened to Maro in this video, and was not too impressed. But, after hearing her work with Jacob (literally in THIS moment :-) ) and her Eurovision song, I really became a fan. Beautiful voice.
Same here I have been following her since she toured with Jacob and was pleasantly surprised when she popped on Eurovision.
I love Kinga Glik. Her bass playing looks fluid and effortless. Thanks for the introduction.
Awesome video !! I like a lot all of them but I have my favorites ...Maro and Lari.
we could easily have a top 10 female musicians from Brazil! there's a new generation of talent in our country, and that's a breath of fresh air for us! Aliás, sou um grande fã do seu trabalho Kiko! orgulho nacional!!! forte abraço
I'm from Argentina and I've seen this first hand. For most brazilians rhyhtm and groove is second nature. It's something about their folklore.
Thanks Kiko!
@@tassiotrevizor5556 Badi Assad!!
Elas são muito boas mesmo Kiko! Aliás, vc já ouviu a banda The Warning?
We Indians Pride over Mohini Dey...A Bassist, She has played with likes of Steve Vai and Jeff Beck amongst others
Nice to see that someone else thinks Mohini deserves a mention, and I'm an Englishman.
Mohini is an absolute alien. Or superhuman. She is so incredible!!!
I was going to suggest her too! One of the best bassists on the planet, period!
She's another one I thought that was likely to be on the list.
Yesss!! So under-appreciated in the YT and insta world compared to others inspire of her top notch talent!
Juliaplaysgroove. Best unsigned female bassist.💪
Incredible pocket and potential. I think those Stingrays are free though, so obviously endorsed, if not signed yet.
One of my favs
When julia plays groove I listen! ;)
I guess there was only room for one Polish female bass player. :'(
Agree
Very nice list, I'll be sure to check them all out!
You belong here too
@@michamarkuszewski4546 very nice of you to say!
Sina Drums needs to be on this list. Phenomenal drummer that is helping so much young talent to be heard. Love you Sina!
Indeed. I clicked on the video just to check if Sina was on the list and was disappointed.
@@galier2 I nearly unsubscribed when I saw she wasn’t there. Come on Rick check her CZcams channel. She can rock, play jazz, prog, folk and masters them all. She does showcase a lot of young great musicians most could get on this list. Oh and she is in a band called The Gas
There’s of course also Kanade Sato (and Senri Kawaguchi).
Sina is an incredibly great drummer. I've been a Patreon of hers for years. Juna Serita on bass is very good. Lucy Gowen is a good guitarist. And for vocalist my favorites are Alyona Yarushina, Daria Zaritskaya, Andreea Munteanu and Jadyn Rylee.
Not really into sina, you should check out anika niles 🐦
I'm so proud of MARO, portuguese talent, amazing singer and songwriter, really happy to see her get recognition from the best musicians worldwide. Her duet with Mayra Andrade in her series "it's a me, MARO" is the sweetest thing you'll ever hear!
That unplugged version of Afeto is a wild delight. MARO is a gateway musical drug of the highest purity. Her connectedness to some of the greatest and most innovative musicians on the planet is without equal acing, even Jacob Collier. Her live version of Saudade at Avinyo with eleven other (mainly) Catalan musicians is a haul of spectacular talents, each with extensive musical careers, to lose yourself among. (Sylvia Perez Cruz and Rita Payes are particularly astonishing finds.)
Hey, Rick, check out Tal Wilkenfeld. She's Australian. She has played with Jeff Beck. She played with Herbie Hancock at the Montreux Jazz festival. Don Was compares her to Jimi Hendrix. Vinnie Colaiuta is impressed with her. She plays guitar and bass and she writes and sings. She emailed Pete Townsend if she could tour with The Who and be the opening act. He said ok.
Agree, Tal is an unbelievable talent. Not just a world class bass player (Jeff Beck can hire the absolute best), but she can sing and write too. Up at the top of tree.
Absolutely. She has to be in any top 10 female musicians currently playing. Orianthi also: top notch.
Dang Rick, don't hold back, more of this type of content please. New artists are really cool to discover and these artists are all amazing!
The Warning are three sisters from Mexico who are about to put out their third rock album at the ages of 21, 19, and 16. Recently signed by Jason Flom of Lava Records but grew up with social media support. Great rockers and great people.
Also Band-Maid!!!
Def Band-Maid. As much as I love The Warning, I've never fallen in love with a band's sound as much as Band-Maid's. And they sing mainly in Japanese.
I Can't Wait For The Release Of TW3!!!
As far as drummers are concerned, everyone should check out Anika Nilles. She’s amazing by any standards.
My thoughts exactly. She is truly amazing
Speaking of german female drummers, don't forget Sina Döring (sina-drums) and also check her colaborations. Watch Victoria K's version of Black Velvet and Andreea Munteanu's Barracuda - AWESOME!!!
Completely agree! Sina got compliments from THE CHIEF himself: Ian Paice. She performed BURN when aged 17. Have a check, boys and girls!!!
Alter Ego is a masterpiece. Anika Rules. Sarah Jones, too.
So thank you Rick for introducing me in a roundabout way to the force of nature known as The Warning. Picked up the bands name for the first time in MANY comments below this video 15 days ago which seems like a lifetime ago and well, now I'm an addict, a groupie Patreon and rocking my socks off every day. Anyone feeling jaded about the state of Rock in this world I highly recommend the Foro DiDi, Lunario and 2020 Whisky Agogo concerts videos which will rock probably your socks off as well. And if you can afford a couple of bucks a month join The Warning sisters Patreon so we can get to see them in person in the big arenas they belong in around this world! Album 3 is weeks away, so excited.
Shill. This is record company marketing. Hey, let’s find some cute players who can sound like ____ formula. Like Greta Van Fleet, or the Monkees. Horrible.
The Warning are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😎👍🏻🥂
@@westernartifact580 Oh man, the sheer ignorance of your comment... The 3 sisters known as The Warning are playing since they were kids, literally, and now are just 21, 19, and 16 years old!!! They have produced and published all their music by themselves, and now they have a record contract with Lava after 7 months of negotiation because they want, and got, total production independence.
Give them a listen and thank me later.
There’s THREE very young sisters from Monterrey, Mexico that you missed…The Warning ⚠️ is an up-and-coming rock band that are the REAL DEAL…🤘🏼😷🤙🏼
Indeed! They've accomplished so much already too!
Shill
Perhaps "Devoted Fan" is more appropriate?
Old school Hard Rock at its best in the new school era, Hard Rock is not dead! Check it out CHOKE and then EVOLVE, they are sisters and composers of their music and the oldest is 21!
Definitely give Anika Nilles a listen. Absolutely fantastic drummer.
Yes. I fully expected to see her on this list, though not discounting all the talented artists that are on here.
Yup, agree here! These 10 were definitely amazing as well. Anika is just one of my favorite drummers right now, so creative and awesome!
Yaaaaasssss!
Hell yeah...She's absolutely amazing.
@@heylad Oh yeah everyone on this list was fantastic.
There's something magical about Kinga Głyk. Not only is she just a total machine, but also always smiling, always pulling stonky faces, always wearing fancy funky clothes, such a pleasant human to watch and listen to.
Not sure what's in the water in Poland but JuliaPlaysGroove & Kinga are the future of bass outside of all bass epicness happening in Brazil
good grooves, good vibes
Funny, she’s playing with Nate Smith. I was thinking Joe Dart when she first started playing.
Yep, Kinga and Julia are absolutely monster players. Love their work.
How did I not know Julia is Polish as well?! Damn, that makes sense :D
Megan and Rebecca Lovell, the core of Larkin Poe are nothing short of amazing, both originals and their reinterpreted classics of many genres. From the under represented jazz world, Aubrey Logan, a versatile vocalist with subtlety, range, power and atypically a phenomenal Trombonist to boot!
Of today's crop, I enjoyed Helen Ibe the most with her super-expressive face to go with her playing. Ditto Kinga Glick!
Since you mentioned your daughters getting into drumming, you should introduce them to Senri Kawaguchi. Her drumming skill is phenomenal.
And she should watch Yoyoka for the sheer joy of playing the drums at a very young age.
Been following Lari Basilio for quite some time now. She is a superb player and such a modest, down to earth person. So glad she is finally getting the attention she deserves.
Agreed. Glad to see her getting endorsed by Ibanez.
Thanks Norman's Rare Guitars for putting her on the map (for me, at least.)
She is a beast. Very talented.
Lari did a Tim and Pete Show (Tim Pierce and Pete Thorn, 15 shows with some GREAT people before touring/schedules shut it down) interview a few years back that's an hour well spent to watch!
One you missed is the extremely talented Molly Tuttle. She a singer, songwriter, and a very accomplished guitarist. She has 2 CDs published. She is also a Berklee grad.
Too famous? Seems like he was going with artists people may not be aware of.
I didn't know she was a Berkley grad. Freaking Claw Hammer Queen right there. She's pretty established
Check out Tash Sultana (Australia) and Jackie Venson (Austin Tx, Berleley grad)
I know this is women but on the country guitar stuff you can beat the legend, Tommy Emanuel. Dudes awesome
YEP. That is all I can add.
Molly is AWESOME!
3:00 Maro just won national music festival and will represent Portugal at Eurovision this year O.O
Rick, a great group to keep your eye on and give a listen to is “Band Maid”, an all-female rock group out of Japan. You won’t understand most of the lyrics (they do occasionally toss in an English phrase here and there for certain songs) but the musicianship is incredible. Jimmy Page visited Japan a couple of years ago and loved the band so much he insisted on getting a pic with the drummer, Akane. MISA the bassist is a head-turner as well, as is the lead guitarist Kanami. A blend of heavy metal, hard rock and pop.
Misa is brilliant..she was with Girlfriend who've since split up.
@@ajadrew Misa was not with Girlfriend, it was Mina. Names seem similar, but 2 very different people. Love both their playing by the way.
I was just about to mention Band Maid.
For rock musicians, I will say every member of the japanese all female band, Band Maid. Every member of that band is amazing. The guitar players, Kanami and Miku just did an amazing live stream with Herman Li of Dragon Force. It's available on CZcams. Also Multi-instrumentalist Rachel Flowers. She has been on social media for almost 10 years. She has been blind since she was 6 months old. She was also mentored by non other than Keith Emerson on Keyboards. There is even a video of Keith sending a video message to lend her his legendary enormous mother board moog synthesizer. Check out her videos of her performance on piano of the ELP classic the Endless Enigma she is also a prodigy on flute and guitar. Also a few great videos of her playing with Zappa Plays Zappa playing jaw dropping keyboards and trading licks with Dweezil.
Yeah Rachel is amazing and Japan is full of great female rock musicians.
I checked out Rachel because I saw the Zappa plays Zappa clips. She absolutely destroys some ELP covers (in a good way) and is one of those people who just seems to get so jazzed up by the music they're playing.
@@rcrbarf I also recommend the fantastic documentary about Rachel Flowers "Hearing is Believing".
Band Maid are indeed great, the band name alone is a brilliant start.
Rock in Japan is still very strong and there are a TON of brilliant Japanese female musicians making great music.
@@abzulooks6012 rock seems to be dead in North America. In Japan, the Netherlands and Mexico, Rock is king. I am not talking metal. I completely dismissed Band Maid for about a year until one night I just wanted to hear something different. These women jam more genres in their songs and some how make it accessible. Band Maid isn't a genre or style, they are a sound. And better yet they actually look and sound like they like each other and are having fun. So yeah I guess I have turned into a Band Maidiac.
Hey, one more for your list: Toni Lindgren, the lead guitarist for Reina del Cid. Toni is an unreal guitarist who can play anything and she take doesn't get enough credit for how good she is. Not flashy or fast, but so good for whatever song she's playing.
Toni's incredible. She and Reina are actually friends of friends of mine who are in California.
Great guitarist. Glad you mentioned her.
I was thinking of her too.
The list is 10, not 11.
Great musician.
Hey Rick, I just thought I would throw in my own vote for Esperanza Spalding. One of the great jazz bassists and vocalists.
Esperanza has won a Grammy for her work. I may be wrong but I dont think any of the women in Rick's list has.
@@rogermoore2544 perhaps. Or perhaps just not yet.
So great that you’re providing a platform for these young ladies to shine. Lovely stuff. Cheers, Dave ✌️
The Warning - THE BEST female power trio. Every one of their songs is great.
One of my favorite bands currently! But if I had to be totally objective, only Paulina would have a shot at cracking the list. However, as a band they are a force of nature
Estoy de acuerdo I agree . They were amazing even as little kids!!!
As a Boomer constantly fighting Boomers over the absurd and persistent notion many of them hold that there are no talented musicians today, I very much appreciate this promotion of new talent. Thanks Rick.
I think people are upset by the fact that talented musicians are overlooked in the mainstream, in favor of less talented faces that can be easily marketed. Ive seen more talent on youtube than TV and radio. Honestly, if it weren't for CZcams, I'd probably among the people that have lost hope.
@@jetmech9287
What saddens me is that some lost their curiosity with age, they think they've seen all and heard all, and not willing to give something new let alone different a chance.
@@davespringer777 perfectly worded
There is a lot of great talent out there. Unfortunately the large record labels go with more formulaic people. Fortunately, there is CZcams to find these great people
Hey Rick, if you haven't heard her already, I highly recommend that you check out Senri Kawaguchi, a phenomenal young drummer - bought her first CD, 'Hard & Sweet' in 2019, and every track is sublime!
Sina on drums, The Warning, and must watch: Yoyoka on drums.
Love The Warning, the first two singles from their "soon" to be released album are nice!!!
Elise Trouw is a brilliant artist and her mashups are unreal. Ivy Alex is another outstanding pianist/vocalist you should check them out
Came here to mention Elise, she's amazing!
+1 Half expected to see her name in Rick's list.
truth, she's huge on social media
she's been on several late night talk shows and currently has a pretty large following as well as a TON of collabs.
Elise Truow and Tal Wilkenfeld were the first two who came to my mind...
The Warning are three sisters that started making music very young Alejandra (Ale = Aleh, not the beer. Bass, backing vocals and keyboard, the youngest 16(2021)) and Paulina (Pau = Pow. Drums, backing/lead vocals and keyboard, middle sister 19(2021)) at 3 and Daniela (Dany = Dany. Guitar, lead vocals and keyboard, the oldest 21(2021)) 5, all learning classical piano. They got the video game Rock Band and fell in love with the feeling of performing on other instruments. Their father asked if they wanted to learn another instrument and the girls jumped at the opportunity and gravitated to the instruments they played in Rock Band.
Two self/fan funded albums and an EP later they were signed by Lava Records last summer and just finished recording their third record. Also having 63 000 000 video views on their CZcams channel and a viral cover of Enter Sandman by Metallica that has over 22 000 000 views. Opening for Def Leppard, the Killers and Stryper to name a few and playing massive festivals with like Mother of All Rock and Vivo Latino and the virtual stream with Slash and Ringo Star...
Yes Indeed... *The Warning Rocks!!!*
In addition to all of that above, the bassist (Ale--Alejandra) already has a Signature Bass Guitar by Specter. She’s 16 now, but has been phenomenal since she was 9!
LOVE THE WARNING!!!
Rick covered her previously on the topic of young guitarists. She’s an amazing talent....guitar, violin, piano and voice! Covet is great.
Yeah im pretty sure he knows who they are . And they were at the top of there class at Berkeley im thinking Rick he likes jazz . So whatever
Maro just won the portuguese contest for the Eurovision Festival, with a song named "saudade". Worth checking it out.
Should mention that Maro (pronounced Maru) is almost exclusively about duets and collaborations...she "calls up" musical partners and they do these beautiful remote-synched duos. Her collaborators may be famous or not-so, but they're always talented and they always make magic with her. This was a great post!
You are a good bloke Rick. Through all the wrangilng with CZcams and how finances work in this domain you still stick at it and deliver interesting and personal music and musical analysis that is top notch. You have definitely contributed to my survival during this dreadful pandemic. Keep going.
Your daughters should check out Senri Kawaguchi from Japan, an amazing drummer. Japan also has so many world-class all-female bands, and any one of them is worth a mention. Since your daughters may not appreciate metal yet, I'll recommend a few that span rock, pop punk, funk, and hard rock: Scandal, Girlfriend and Band-Maid. But if I have to pick one, it would be Band-Maid.
💯
The Warning, Brenda Martin from Eruca Sativa, Jessie Williams from Ankor, KT from Elephant Gym, Yvette Young, Las Ligas Menores and Poppy are my favorite female artist
Love The Warning!
TW!!!!
I really dig your channel Mr. Beato, good stuff!
I actually came to the comments to mention The Warning but it seems we got that covered already ;)
Same here!
Some notable additions to this list would be Che Aimee Dorval who has the most haunting voice that ever emerged, Senri Kawaguchi which is one of the most gifted drummers in the universe, Julia Hofer who owns the bass, Phoebe Bridergs who is a compositional genius, Marta Altesa who is the grooviest female alive and my mom who is not famous but she should be.
Che Aimee Dorval is wonderful!
Love Che, but with work she's done off-online, she might be for another list?
@@iTellaThePun she plays lot more than fusion, probably records a few albums per month in any style as a session drummer
Came to say this. I heard Senri for the first time just a few months ago and she can slay.
@@rcrbarf First time we "hired" Senri, she was 19 and did a tour in Japan with Guthrie Govan. Done 4 tours now with her in Asia/Japan. Killer attitude and masters any song in one take. Just amazing.
I’m so glad Sarah made your list.
She’s a local , been following her for years.
So talented and not afraid to try anything new.
Two more, both incredibly young - Angelina Jordan is one of the most amazing singers alive today. Also on the drums, Yoyoka. The sheer joy on this little girl’s face, is infectious.
Just heard Angelina Jordan today and agree, want to search 4 and listen 2 much more from her very Unique or Uni Q voice🤌👌🥂
@@curtisworkman4260 Here are a few of my favorites to get you started:
I Put A Spell On You
Back To Black
Valerie
Fly Me To The Moon
Bohemian Rhapsody
Gloomy Sunday
Summertime
Too many others to list them all.
Rick! There's a rock band called The Warning that's made up of three sisters from Mexico that are 21, 19, and 16 that are going to be putting out their THIRD album this year. I bet you and your daughters would love them. They have tons of energy and are great personalities!
One of the best drummers, too!
Yes! They are awesome. All three of them are, but Pau is like awesome+.
Yes The Warning is real good. Must watch just for the drumming.
Nice, a new (rock) Hanson!
About The Warning drummer Paulina Villarreal:
"The drummer kicks maximum ass.."
-Kirk Hammett
Rick! You definitely know how to get the comments going. I see many comments about Band-Maid. ‘Nuff said. You might want to have your daughters check out The Warning three sisters from Mexico - especially Paulina Villarreal on drums. She’s a monster
They definitely need to check out *The Warning!!!*
Thanks for sharing these wonderful musicians with us! I had never heard of any of them before (I'm an uncultured swine, what can I say) but I followed almost all of them. Great stuff.
As a handful of other comments have mentioned, as long as we're talking female musicians I do hope the amazing Band-Maid graces this channel some day. Akane, MISA, and Kanami are all truly wonderful rock musicians - especially together.
All of Band-Maid
Agreed. Misa is one of best rock bassists I’ve heard, Kaname shreds and a great song writer and Akane on drums - ‘nuff said
Senri Kawaguchi, Kanade Sato, Band-Maid, Meytal Cohen, Orianthi... Worthy of mention.
I saw The Warning, Band-Maid and Juna Serita here in the comments (The Princess of Funk is Great!) and so I'll have to add Shinobu Kawashima.
Great description Ricky. Love it👏👍🇧🇳
YOOO, as a Portuguese, Maro's wide recognition is long overdue, she's incredibly talented. Thanks for her mention Rick!
I went to find Maro's full track that Rick excerpted and it references the collaborator as Tinho Menezes rather than Alberto.
saw her live with jacob collier in buenos aires, instantly became a fan of her... loved her collab with eric clapton and her cover of "Hey ma" by bon iver..
@@gerbs139 Tinho is the Brasilien nickname for Alberto (Albertinho = Little Albert)
Band Maid from Japan. All super talented women but the bass drums and lead guitar are beyond awesome. They ARE modern heavy rock.
Hi Rick! All very talented artist, although you forgot to include The Warning! A trío hard rock band from Monterrey Mx! Saludos from LA!
To a person with your musical background -especially on pure hard rock songs- you should listen to The Warning: Three teenage sisters so good that are already rocking with Foo Fighters, Killers, Metallica and some others...
Agreed!
Yvette Young, Elise Trouw, Josie Charlwood, Alina Gingertail, Elsiane, Genevieve Artadi and finally Aurora. I had hoped to see some of these girls, but sadly none of them made the cut. Maybe me writing this comment will make some adventorous watcher check them out?
Hard agree with these. Elsiane is nuts. Super unique but super good. Kinda reminds me of Mew a little bit.
Hey Marius, came here expecting to see Yvette as well. I’ll check your suggestions. Thanks!
I love Yvette Young! Her guitar work, her piano, and her violin performances are amazing. Her songwriting, her art, everything. And her personal story. She’s just a really unique, inspirational young woman.
Elise Trouw seconded, amazing talent.
Hopefully Rick will cover another 10 female musicans soon. I'd add Rachel Flowers, who is disturbingly skilled to say the least!
For a revival of the classic hard rock sound, try Paulina Villarreal and her sisters Daniela and Alejandra, aka The Warning!
I commented something similar. Maybe after all The Warning comments Rick will eventually check out the Villarreal sisters. Similar comments for Band Maid from Japan as well. Probably my top 2 favorites bands right now
Absolutely, The Warning should be on the list.
What's not to Love about The Warning!!!
I remember them from a video I saw years ago. I’ll go see what they’re doing today
Thanks for increasing the diversity of interesting music and young musicians. Some impressive and joyous work here.
Totally rad!!! Thanks, Rick and thanks to all of these amazing musicians!!
Maro was an opener for an artist I played drums for. She was a show stopper. When she starts singing the crowd goes silent.
Band Maid, it's an all female hard rock band
Rick been watching your show for a little while now great show keep up the good work
Brilliant video. Great quality ! So so good.
Senri Kawaguchi is one of the best drummers around.
I'm a big fan of Julia Hofer; she's and excellent bass player and has an infectious love for music. I really enjoy watching her play.
1 Female Band You Should Know: The Warning!!!
Absolutely!!
My granddad: "Women don't have the coordination, the strength or the ability to play drums."
My dad: "Well would you look at that! A lady drummer!"
Me: "Female drummers are every bit as good as other drummers."
My kid: "We just call them 'drummers' now."
While this great video is important recognition of a few of the many, many brilliant musicians playing today, I cannot wait for the day when a musician's gender is no longer remarkable. I hope watching this is a big step forward for a lot of folks.
That's the way things should work, as long as we stay educated and enlightened...
Get your grandad to have a drum off with one of these ladies. Ha!
@@chesneytube1, I KNOW, right? As a minimal defense, my grandad was born in 1900 and, while really great with horses, was not otherwise enlightened in any way. As for drumming, he wouldn't stand a chance.
And if we could achieve the same with racism too, that would be really cool.
“We just call them ‘people’ now. “
@@HarryR1, totally agreed!
The all Five ladies of Band Maid(Japan) are ridiculously talented for making cheesy power rock in maid outfits.
I've been listening to Maro for a little while now. She is 100% underrated and I hope she gains a lot of new fans from this.
Same, she is a genius.
Wow! That's quite the list, looks like I'll be looking into these musicians, need some new music in my life :)
Amazing inspiration! Thank you much!!
Stephanie Jones, Yvette Young, BAND-MAID, Yoyoka Soma, Anastacia Tyurina, Mary Spender, Kinga Glyk...
An exhaustive list would take a while, but it'd be time we'll spent.
But -
Having grown up with no-format AM radio, I do understand the frustration of people who feel like there's little new talent, because I miss turning that one machine on (da radio) and consistently hearing a huge variety of awesome talent.
It can definitely be found online, but not as effortlessly as it used to be.
Sina
Here’s 10 more:
-Fiona Silver
-Izzy B. Phillips (Black Honey)
-Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint, Kurt Vile, Desert Sessions)
-Rodes Rollins
-Lila Ramani (Crumb)
-Ruby Velle

Hey Rick! Don't forget the girls from the Mexican power trio the Warning (extremely talented young girls) French drummer Camille Bigeault, Sarah Longfield, and you got the band Eruca Sativa from Argentina. Check them out !
Gotta Check Out *The Warning!!!*
Extremely talented? The warning is good but not good enough for Ricks list
@@shakespeariancopy3053 That's nonesense, You're absolutely wrong !!
@@lordofnesss they are good, but first they are not in need of Rick’s shootout, which is what he aims with this list, to let people know about not very known musicians. Now if you reduce a list to 10 female musicians worth checking out, there are dozens of girls with a way much higher lever of musicianship than The warning, worth to check out which is what Rick was trying to show. Those girls rock, but as musicianship goes, they have some long way to ride compared to any on Rick’s list. No hate, they’re doing fine.
Great post, Rick. Love the harmonies on the Maro song.
Rick, there are three amazing female musicians (sisters) that everyone should get to know. That would be Dany, Pau and Ale Villarreal. Otherwise known as THE WARNING. Rick, you really need to get them on your channel someday soon! 🎸 🎸 🎸
BTW these 3 sisters also attended Berkley
I’m happy to see so many people in the comments talking about Band Maid. These women are simply amazing.
They need more recognition in the states.
Should check out Band-Maid. They're hard to fit into a single definite genre, but they call themselves hard rock; some fans call them metal.
But, there are actually tons of great female musicians in Japan. Drums: Yoyoka, Senri Kawaguchi, and Junna, etc.. Guitarists: Kanami Tono, Rie aka Suzaku, Li-sa-x, Halka from Asterism, Yuki from D Drive, etc. Bassists: F Chopper Koga, MISA, Tomomi Ogawa, etc.
In Japan, there's an entire parallel genre of rock music called Girls Rock that consist of bands of every conceivable genre made up entirely of women, from pop and indie rock all the way to power metal.
Junna Is the funniest drummer ever, I love her attitude 😏👍
Band-Maid is amazing.
These musical artists are all amazing, Thanks for sharing Rick.
Madison Cunningham is absolutely stellar. If you get the opportunity have a listen to her gorgeous voice, guitar work, and songwriting.
Elise Trouw also deserves to be in this list, her jazz approach and frame of mind is something so unique.
Agreed! I Just the same comment!!! Cheers, mate!
If you are looking for a female band check out The Warning. It’s made up of the Villarreal sisters, if you are looking for a female drummer check out Paulina, she plays drums and sings. Amazing talent...
I recognize they are good but not near the level of any of the girls Rick just mentioned, which are superb musicians, girls from the warning they have RnR attitude but there’s still some long way to match the level of musicianship of this list. They are on the right track tho...
@@shakespeariancopy3053 They've got their third Album coming out... We'll see soon if they stay on coarse!!!
@@shakespeariancopy3053 Copy dude please, Never ever quit your day job !
Love the warning. Simple rock done great with no pretence.
What a great video! So good to know that there are real musicians out there. These women were spectacular.
All these drummers have undoubted technical ability, but none of them really speak to me. The only drummer with musical feel in spades is Sina Doering. In any style you care to name she owns the music and communicates that feel to her audience. Should be here.
If you haven't seen her yet, you should check out a young girl named Yoyoka.
Jacob Collier's Lua featuring MARO is to die for
Samantha Fish
Yesssss!
Maro.. What an angelic vocal timbre! 😌
that was refreshing, thank you !
Female musicians/artists: Checkout Band-Maid, Kalonica Nickx, Junna, Scandal, Girlfriend, Yuko Suzuhana (singer) and Beni Ninagawa (shamisen)/Wagakki band and Kanon Wakeshima.
❤
Mentioning Japanese artists/bands is almost like cheating lol. So many good stuffs for everyone there, even when you're just looking for the mainstream ones.
Anyway I'd like to add this one fantastic all-female experimental/psych band called OOIOO (basically read "ohayo", Japanese for "good morning"). They're truly unique band, constantly changing their sound and style on each album releases and are not afraid to experiment and breaking away from the common trend.
But unlike many other experimental artist/bands, their music, at least imo, never come off as pretentious and boring. It just sounds so hypnotic and fresh and very enjoyable, it's a pretty good balance between idiosyncratic experimentation and catchiness as I would put it.
Great topic Rick! Tal Wilkenfeld - AWESOME bass player that played with Jeff Beck on the Live at Ronnie Scott's shows. Also has great solo work!
Well established.
She is a famous bass player and artist.
@@RickBeato Tal is awesome!
I saw Kinga Glyk on the thumbnail and I instantly clicked. I'm learning the bass for a year now and she is one of my inspirations.
Wow, great vid, looks like you all had so much fun. Keep up the good work Ali, Chris, your Chauffuer J Bruce, Hollywood North.
The sisters larkin poe should be here
Dittos! That's the 1st thing I screamed at my screen!
Yeap, thought the same. Especially Megan.
And especially Rebecca
But especially Megan.
Exactly!
Maro with the Portugal- Brazil connection, so freaking good!
That was amazing. Great talent out there in relative obscurity. Hope they get all the recognition for their creative souls.
For all that the computer, the cell phone, and the internet hold in terms of distracting kids and encouraging complacency, it's great to see that so many young people still are fascinated by and are encouraged to create by...good old standard musical instruments. And you've done a lot to promote that, my good man!
Nice
Sina-drums, Tash Sultana and guitarist Yvette Young, are all amazing at what they do.
Tash is non-binary, so probably wouldn't belong on a list of female artists. Lots of talent, though.
I second Yvette Young. Fantastic.
