    Think the railroad HSTs are Lima tooling. Also I think there's a much bigger market for older HST liveries so not sure why they're doing this. Particularity if anyone that really cares about this livery will be saying "where's the buffers"

    • @StormmyStormmy
      @StormmyStormmy Před měsícem +1

      The 21pin models aren’t great in my opinion, the motorised fans are woeful and there are no more opening doors, the only good feature in the Kinamatic nem coupling under the rear of the body, the 8pin is better value for money.

    Steam generator in the hush hush is a good move, hopefully it will have a firebox glow feature to go with it, no new crane to replace the ones in the range that are 40 plus years old, no Network Rail wagons or coaches, I’m sure many modellers will find some good things in this announcement.

    The Grand Central HST looks good - an attractive and not-too-garish livery! I'm afraid the only new Hornby release I'm looking forward to is the Stockton & Darlington Locomotion, which I hope will be accompanied by some suitable wagons...hint, hint...

      -You get the Rewards which are 15% of the purchase price and can be used on future purchases.
      - Look out for club offers e.g. Double points, £50 off when spending over £300, etc.
      - Club exclusive models which are often cheaper the non-club version. e.g the 2MT.

    Another 10000 Hush Hush just with a Steam Generator and a RAILROAD Grand Central HST that doesn't even have any front buffers... Really guys?
    43 minutes of absolutely wasting people's times just to announce three new things for the 00 range... and the rest to just be complete waffle that really should have had it's own dedicated video instead.
    One thing I will grant you though, a new batch of Drax Biomass wagons is very much appreciated, hopefully this time you won't limit it to Tier 1 retailers like you did last time which just meant that the vast majority scalpers got a hold of it and shot the price up from the original RRP...

Good people don't have a lot of money and kids. But there should be One from railroad family plus news tools version. To give people a choice. Should done one in TT scale got me into it. Wagon god person like Morden things. Being nice if Hornby could do so steam train want are pre 1923 or SR to 1952. As in two.

    Nothing of interest to me with your announcements. Surely you could have brought out HSTs covering liveries not presently produced. Currently I have thirty one pairs of the HSTs and was hoping the EMR and Colas would be released.

  • @lapiswake6583
    @lapiswake6583 Před měsícem

    Given the RRP for the Hush-Hush as DCC ready is £254.99, a RRP for it with sound and smoke of £294.99 seesm great value for these add-ons. I'm certainly considering it.
    However. A GC HST without buffers? We've only had 1 GC release before, as the pre-refurbishment version with the Valenta-powered 43/0s and no orange stripe. We need a version of the post-refurbishment MTU-powered 43/4s (as per the RailAdventure set, minus the top light) with orange stripe. All 6 of GC's power cars had buffers, and were /4s with the orange stripe for most of their GC life, before going to EMT/EMR and now with RailAdventure and having the top light.
    Why couldn't you release a HST in another livery, more accurate to the railroad tooling? Like InterCity Executive, MML Teal, FGW Merlin, GNER without red doors, or even the NMT?
    Also of note is that GC ran as 2+6 in their later days of HST operation, so people would need 2 FOs to model that.
    Does this HM-DCC update include consists? My TT:120 is going to an exhibition next month, and I'd appreciate if I could control the 2 HST power cars in one go...

      I suspect no moreso than hobbies generally. Do you recall 1968? The big question in our hobby was whether there'd still be a market for steam outline. Turns out there was back then, but only due to the question being asked a half century early!!
      Were I Hornby (or any other manufacturer beyond a bespoke 'cottage industry'), I'd be looking to detailed market research with a microscope. For millenials, the future looks pretty bleak as far as any spare money for hobbies goes, so it'll be doubly important to learn what the coming market demands.
