I think it's really cool that you and your pops are able to work on these projects together. I hope you guys don't take this time for granted. On lighter note, didn't think I was going dig the model a build. Actually kind of like it. It's interesting to see 100 year old technology still working today.

You might consider using a sacrificial anode. A strip of zinc attached to the body will hold back rust progression in the tank. Sure wouldn't hurt.

Have you thought about the possibility of leaving it a one seater and putting a floor down and having like a rat rod sleeper/camper? Taken to shows and across country and sleeping under the stars!
This thing reminds me of the time I hitched my German shepherd to my radio flyer. What a great mistake that was. That was the best dog ever. She put up with so much crap.

If you need some parts, a buddy of mine has a power steering pump for a model A & a set of leather bucket seats for one! He keeps those parts in his garage beside the doors & ash tray for his Harley Davidson!

the cheapest build i did was for 500 bucks i picked up a 68 rt 440 charger for 500 bucks it just needed the exhaust fix but came with all the parts to fix it but the paint was nice on it the interior was mint on it. sold it for 35,000 2 month latter the guy even ask me y i was selling it so cheap it only took 10 min to sell it from when the add came out . he was going to flip for a lot more money it still had good factory paint on it and low miles but i did last year get a 79 cheyenne short box 4x4 with under 35,000 miles on it just needed the carb cleaned and a new fuel pump. so i ended up only have under a 100 bucks in it still have that rig i going to keep it i got it free with 4 camaros and about 15 pu's one of the camaro's is a 67 ss rs 427 i call it my holly grail find all for free so they could put the ranch up for sell .

Epoxy fuel tank sealer, I just saw a dude coat the inside of a bike fuel tank seems like it could work on that

You should put a flathead V-8 in it
I copy the original wood in 1/8" steel plate and fabricate the door frame. You can fake it if you don't have the wood.

Idk if you already planned on it but I’d spray the inside of the tank with a liner just to be safe and prolong that original tanks life
Liners peel off and plug things up!
Get a cheap manifold and put a Stromberg 97 or a Holley 94 on it.
Water pump needs new wax rope packed into it to stop the leak

Lucky you live in the USA. In Australia there be no chance of building a rod or rat for $1500 even finding scraps for that kind of coin.

Don't use water in the tank, use solvent or kerosene.
Ford 8 & 9 N tractors have the same engine and parts are cheaper and tractor supply has them in the store.

I think the carb is the same as an old tractor carb.
