    I cannot thank you enough. It's now covid month 5 and I got an old machine off our neighborhood site for $25! Well, water wasn't flowing when I went to descale! I didn't have a turkey baster but I had a baby medicine syringe 😅. It worked. Thank you from another happy viewer. I would have thrown it away and been coffeeless again!

    Great advice! So simple! It worked on a gravity fed ECM rotary pump to just put the turkey baster on the inlet (with the tank and the baster full of water) and give a little extra pressure to the line. It did not need to be a water tight fit. Thank you!

    My Rancilio Silvia was not used since several years. All water evaporated from the tank. When I tried to make it works again, I got only few drop of water, probably what was remaining in the boiler. The pump was very noisy but no water. At first I was thinking about different hardware failure due to water staying in the boiler and tubes... So I did purchased a Bambino plus :)
    Then Iater on I return on the bench to try save my Silvia and found your video... I did duplicate your method, using a syringe bought on Amazon. My Silvia is now working as intended. Thanks! You just saved me, not to buy another machine but to spend time and money repairing something which was not broken. That said I am very please to have two machines. The Bambino is up and running in seconds, very nice if in an hurry and I have 2 machines for party!

We had not used ours for several months and wanted to make some delicious cappuccino only to find that our machine would not pump any water or steam. After watching your video I decided to take a look before dropping several hundred on a new one. Sure enough there was an air bubble in the water line between the tank and the pump. After priming it the machine is working great again and I am sipping on cappuccino as I write this.

    Maybe it will help someone out there but my machine wasn't getting water because there was a small instruction in the back on the water reservoir to take off a plug, off of the one way valve on the bottom of the reservoir. Nothing in the instruction booklet mentioned anything about it. 😅

    Thanks for putting this on, I know its old now but I bought myself a sage duo temp pro, and after changing the filter the water stopped getting pumped through the machine and was just make a buzzing sound and the heating element was getting hot. All my pipes are very clean so couldnt understand. After taking off the pipe that comes from the water tank, noticed it didnt have water in the pipe so it seemed the pump had not self primed. Did as you demonstrated and the pump started up again properly. Think it was caused by the new filter restricting water feed. Thanks very much!

    We're having a problem with a Breville Cafe Roma ESP8XL. The unit works great for espresso, but unfortunately won't pump anything through the steam wand side (which hasn't been used in a long time). We can hear the pump turning on every second or so, but there isn't even a dribble of water. Descaling and cleaning the wand tip didn't make a difference. Tried priming the pump with a turkey baster, and the water came back out the overflow hose. Any ideas/tips? Thanks, much appreciated!

    Question for the experts...I have the Magnifica. It will pull single shot but not double. Pump sounds normal at start and quickly gets quiet with nothing coming out. I replaced pump with oem after 3 complete descaling procedures made no difference. Hot water and steam works good. Water comes out of espresso nozzles at startup and shutdown. I fully cleaned and lubricated the plunger assembly (even that plug and tiny hole below screen). No signs in tubing of scale buildup. I am at a loss. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Hello Java Jim, This is a long shot question. I have been searching all over social media trying to find an answer to my Capresso 488.05 grind and brew coffee maker randomly not pumping water. I have had 4 replacements, yes 4, during the 1 year warranty and they all have experienced the exact same problem, randomly not pumping water. Here’s the kicker, I discovered out of desperation since it’s out of warranty that if I unplug it for 30 minutes or longer, overnight works every time, it will pump the water on the next cycle??? I thought it might to be my power, so I added a power spike suppressor and it still happens when left plugged in. I put a multimeter on the AC socket that keeps the high and low voltage and amps in memory and nothing extreme shown on it high or low. Any ideas other than it’s a n expensive POS? It’s GREAT when it brews.

      @thedave7760 Před 4 lety

      Should be fine just make sure you put some electrical tape around the connectors in case they short and spark.
      Be careful it will probably be mains voltage coming out of them.
      Another thing people mention here is that some pumps wont switch on unless it is up to temp and that wont happen if the heating element is disconnected.

    Hi . thank you for your video. My coffee maker is a Breville model BES870XL/B unfortunately the pressure does not rise. The gauge is working. The pump worked by taking out an output pipe from it and turning it on, and it had a good output pressure. All the pipes are clean, and I cleaned them twice with special tablets. The steam works and there is no problem. I still could not find the problem. If I find it, I have the possibility to repair it. I have two guesses, one is the external stream ring and casket and the other is the solenoid valve.
    In the first case, the device has no leaks at all, neither internal nor external pipes. Thank you for your advice in advance

    What do I do if the pump makes a noise, there’s water coming out from the steam arm but the water drips very slowly from the handle?
    I cleaned the machine, took the seat out in the machine and cleaned, tried putting less coffee in the handle but it’s like the pressure isn’t sufficient for the water to flow through.
    There is however water in the handle and it spits out when I remove the handle from the machine.

    I don't suppose any has experience of this happening with a Rocket Appartamento do they? Mine is air locked and won't draw water in but I don't have any exposed tubes like in this video. The water reservoir has a kind of valve in the bottom which is built into the tank and fits directly onto a receiver valve in the machine. I don't think I'd be able to attach anything to it to force water in.
