The Nature Trip | Comedy | No-budget Short Film

- City worker Sam is going through a messy divorce, so his colleague David invites him on a rural retreat, in the hope that Sam can pull himself together in time for their big meeting on Monday. But when David's friend Rob introduces Sam to the esoteric practice of psychomagic, their trip goes rapidly off the rails.
The Nature Trip is a micro-budget short that we filmed during the summer of 2021. We made it on a shoestring budget but with a good deal of passion and enthusiasm, as a way to recapture the gonzo spirit of joy and spontaneity from our early teenage filmmaking days.
The script was inspired by a trip that friends & co-writers, David and Sam, took to visit me at my off-grid forest garden homestead in Somerset, England.
City-dwellers like Sam and David often dream of escaping to a more grounded, rural lifestyle, and we wanted to explore that in our own freewheeling, handmade way.

I wanted to say the farm came with a few old apple trees and we are lucky to have a Ukranian/Russian father and he came down from his home 22 hrs away in the Artic ( like father crimbo) and helped us make a superb batch of cider. We wanted scrumpy but it actually came out crystal clear and crisp and dry....totally amazing! We have got an awesome tasty spring feeding our home for free on our land here. The quality is so good I would say that if I got a still I could probably get awesome whiskey! Oh and on the subject of mushrooms...the place here is littered with them. This year I had to make an external use only Aminita Muscaria tincture as a topical pain killer to aid a broken foot. It is the best pain killing analgesic rub (,external only) ever! Never will I get back pain etc. Again with that amazing remedy ;) knowledge is power ,) Blessings to you and your dear family and thanks for the inspiration!

@@robsdiscovery ya I been learning music on my guitar, the first song I learned without knowing anything was Nirvanas Heart Shaped Box, and only later started to learn notes and layout, chords, CAGED system and etc… anyways, this film was quite a pleasant Christmas surprise, most of the time the Universe just sits there silent and does nothing, but sometimes the Universe works in mysterious ways!
