- Have you met the Xtender? This awning tent from Darche was built especially for the 4x4 tourers looking for a functional, and easy to use shelter that can be set up right next to your vehicle every night.
In this video, the team over at Darche give us the lowdown on how to properly set up your Xtender from start to finish, and how to detach the tent from your awning - so you can drive away at any time and come back to a freestanding shelter.

You forgot to mention to place a chock under your wheels to know where to line up every time you need to disconnect from the tent :P
Great advice thanks Timothy, we were just discussing yesterday the difficulties of lining your car up after disconnecting from the tent. A wheel chock is an easy solution. ~ Ben.
I was just thinking the exact same thing. A video showing that would be awesome since I’m a bit curious about how precise the car position has to be…
hi.
does the mentioned awning come with the extender tent.. Not the awning connected to the car, but the awning connected to the tent with the poles or is it an extra. if so how much and are they available now? I notice it is a new product.
Thinking if it might be a good option for an oztent if price is favorable.
Thanks.
Jeff.
An awning comes with the tent Jeff, but as you mention it is not the Extender awning on the vehicle. We have not had a chance to set this up yet, but my understanding is that it is a removable panel that zips into place when the vehicle awning is not attached. ~ Ben.
Should be a good addition to our Darche Nebula1550. Cheers.
Show us how you assemble the tent without it being zipped up to awning.
We weren't allowed to collapse the tent down at the show we did this video at, Riaan, but these vids have a little bit more information - czcams.com/video/fpdDnGAEsYM/video.html, czcams.com/video/hIT-pQph7ZM/video.html. ~ Ben
Dude folded the awning over not under?
Doesn't really matter @Salty Dog889 - either way is fine!
