    This looks outstanding, so many amazing features! The only nitpick I have is that it uses an IEC cable rather than True1? Locking IEC is better than normal I guess and can be sourced just about anywhere, but still seems like an oddly weak link on such a powerhouse of a console! I think Eos gets dismissed in live entertainment, but man this desk makes me want to see them overhaul HOG.

    This is actually insane, good job ETC. I've used the Eos software for years now and this is an amazing "vessel" to put it in, so to speak.

    There are many things to love about this desk, but as useful as the big screens are, they come at a cost and that cost is the view of what's happening on stage, or at least the convenience of having that view. I don't want to have to stand up to see the stage, and I think that Apex would be incredibly impractical in a booth - you know, the environment a large share of your target demographic works in. Although the screen can be tilted out of the way, I don't think that this is a proper solution as the viewing angle becomes poor/nonexistent.
    Thus, I think it would be very practical if there was some sort of booth-optimized version of Apex that is designed to work with external displays mounted elsewhere, but still has some screen real estate of its own. I'm thinking tilting screens the size of those found on a Gio - with reduced, Apex-style bevels, they should be low-profile enough, but given that a Gio is what I work on, that size should be workable for basic needs. Not nice, but workable, with external screens to compensate. I think that many theatres would give up the extra screen space for not having such a huge desk blocking the view from the booth.

    This looks absolutely awesome, I wish I could have this but it's gonna be super expensive... You guys should sort out the components shortage as soon as possible so we can finally buy the Gadget II, as that's the only hardware that's somewhat affordable to us 🙁

      We're working as hard as we can to get Gadget IIs shipping again and hope to have some better news soon. Sadly component shortage is effecting so many areas of manufacturing.

      @@ammreulrich We had to borrow a few to get that shot! All Gadgets are short right now both for Apex and standalone use.

    I have been using Ion Xe for last 5 months have to say first lighting console Iv learned working in a theater in Ireland operating shows...But this things is amazing looks like a full size MA...Please restock the Gadget II, That slideshow where I saw them being Daisy chained I now know why we can't buy them you guys making infinity Universe haha......Please add more Augmented 3D Stuff it's missing a option to create roofs for Festivals. The only option viable now is a 2D Plane. I'd like if was an option to just snap from point to point with a bar or a plane or something and extrude in the middle to make a curved object or a raked roof . Also please add a " 3 WAY LINE Array Column Speakers for FOH . The only viable option right now is making 8 square speakers and evenly rotation them at angles

      Of course not, this is an etc product,
      Not avolites or MA.
      you go out of a menu to a popup and all the faders probably stop working 😏

  • @funnylaughingmexicanguy8746

    When you're a lighting designer, I imagine these are a purchase that one needs to stomach themselves? Every AV company I have worked for uses low end garbage.

  • @sidallen1969
    @sidallen1969 Před rokem +2

    ETC...why are you shelving the HOG?
    It is the only true competitive desk for touring against the MA.
    20 years programming HOG and now having to find a HOG like (CHAMSYS) console to learn from scratch.
    At least Barco wasn't a competitor for lighting consoles.

    • @sidallen1969
      @sidallen1969 Před rokem

      To be clear...
      ETC consoles generally end up in corporate shows due to lackluster programming concepts.
      Had that said HOG on it and had HOG tracking and layout, it would have been a knockout...lol
