Lessons in patience from the beach

Today, I learned a lesson in patience and listening to my gut while I was beachcombing.
I walked these shell beds all the way from that boardwalk by those condos in the distance. Usually, I’d find lots of treasures in all of this, but today wasn’t very lucky.
I was in a mood complaining that it was hot already at 9 am, the sun was blinding, and maybe these shell beds were already picked through.
This was all I found in 20 minutes.
It felt like a good sea glass day with how sunny it was and the texture of the shells. My gut told me there should be sea glass here but no luck.
Some days you win, some days you lose, but is it really a loss to spend time walking on the beach?
I filmed this to share that this just wasn’t my day, and began to walk back to leave.
Look what I had missed! I almost gave up too soon! Yes, it’s not perfectly frosted but it’s green and I usually only find brown. I’m definitely keeping this beautiful green piece, for myself and just in case someone could get hurt walking on it.
My gut was right, so of course now I’m going to keep going! Let’s turn back around and keep going looking for more!
I found so many more pieces in cool shapes and with cool markings, a shark tooth, and some other fossil that I’m not really sure what it is.
While my life would carry on fine if I’d given up and gone home, and the finding of the treasures wasn’t important- it was an important lesson to keep going when your gut tells you that you are on the right path.
I have a lot of big behind-the-scenes things I’m doing in my business. Making small changes for hopefully big results, and it’s hard work that I’d love to give up on but my gut is telling me I am taking just the right next steps.
After finding all these, I went and watched the waves for a bit and found several more shark teeth.
