      Been watching you for years man. I got into yall from the duwap interview and loved how fresh ur channel was. I don’t rlly keep up with any other media company or brand so I really really like what u do. Addressing one of ur points in the video about how ur favorite videos don’t get views. I think you should continue making content u love and even if it doesn’t get AS many views as the other videos at least you’ll feel better about the content you make, and stay true to ur vision all along. I also think your fan base will grow organically and stronger if you go the more slow and creative route. Don’t turn into just another media channel because it helps your channel grow. U made this company for a reason, so please continue with the vision you had. All love homie, I wanna see u happy and successful at the end of the day! Love the channel 🫶🏼

    Becoming your own boss and maintaining an entire company in conjunction to everything else going on in your life is extremely overwhelming. Your struggles are completely valid, however, you've worked so hard and manifested this for yourself, it would be a shame to close the chapter on something so successful as this channel. You will succeed no matter what you choose, this channel and what its done has inspired and entertained many and will continue to do so if you choose to abandon it. Hopefully you come back when the time is right and feel more connected to the content as you used to be. Take as long and as many breaks as you need so you don't get burnt out. Take it easy and see you soon KTO.

I instantly knew you had what it took for your channel to blow up (great questions/vision choosing guests/production). It was great to see your growth from there, and your reasons for quitting are totally understandable. Whatever you’ll be doing next, I wish you the best of luck :)

  • @gmacki6484
    @gmacki6484 Před rokem +9

    Honestly man, it just sounds like you need a bigger team. That's how the other media companies you reference handle it. You have an audience and I'm sure you could find some fans who would be willing to intern or help lift workload for you for free/credit.
    Artist interviews are a hard thing to center your business around. That's why you see other media companies transitioning into podcast/reaction content. Because its fairly easy to get done, and you can still get your ideas and content out. I think the reason your channel works is because people like you, your ideas, and your aesthetic. If you like telling stories you can just tell your stories/ share your opinions, you don't need the artist present to have an opinion/audience. Or like you said just find someone with a similar mindset as you that you can introduce your audience to and help co-host, it works everywhere else.
    For views you need to find a happy middle ground. Where you can clickbait the audience and get the average viewer to consume the video, then remain true to your style and have them stick around because of the original quality content.
    I'm sure you have thought of all of this, but just my two sense. Just ask yourself if you would really be happier elsewhere, because at the end of the day life is filled with things we don't want to do, and that will be true with any career path you choose. Sometimes you can loose the joy in things because your perspective gets clouded and you need to look a little harder so you can see again.

  • @milesjordan
    @milesjordan Před rokem +9

    You're the most genuine host in the music industry for sure. A lot of creatives can relate to how you feel about losing integrity in your vision in order to satisfy the algorithm or current trends. It's a real emotion & I just want to say that you're not alone. I'd keep going because you've built a loyal community, not only to KTO but to Arshan (yourself) as well. We trust your original personality & content. I'd suggest hiring a couple people to handle social media posts & create another show with a new host. That way, you have time for friends & personal life activities without constantly thinking about losing out on KTO work.

  • @Eleven_11
    @Eleven_11 Před rokem +10

    You're definitely not alone and I feel like almost everybody in media goes thru what you're feeling... just know you've inspired so many already and whatever route you choose we will respect. I would say to maybe just get back to making the content that you really enjoy and that doesn't even have to be interviews. You can still be a tastemaker without having to rely on interviewing artists or even without showing your face and getting on camera every video. Even if the views aren't quite as good at first, you'll be better off in the long run creating content that you actually enjoy. Whatever you choose we will still support! 🔥

  • @TangoVonDoom
    @TangoVonDoom Před rokem +24

    Your feelings are EXTREMELY valid. As advice I’d say assign roles to people that you can trust with the duties that can be overbearing. you’re going through the lows right now, and as an artist that makes music trust me I know what the lows are like. but think of all the high moments like when people recognize you or giving artists a chance to be seen. I see your platform, as an artist myself, as a benchmark of success bro. you’re damn near already a staple of what solidifies someone in the underground. Give yourself time to get through these lows, ask for guidance from the most high and be observant of the signs that follow. Also, be on the lookout for an artist called “T4NGO”, i’m on the way to you bro we going to get an interview. only up from here bro💯💪🏾

    @DavidArmah. Před rokem

    I’ve been going through the same thing with my channel this month. Just a creative block, slight burnout too.
    You just need to go back to the drawing board. What do you really love/enjoy, what do you dislike/hate. Get personal with that list and focus on what you love to do.
    Delegating tasks that makes CZcams a hassle to someone else will help. Get that load off your shoulder and hire someone else that specialize in that to do it for you.
    Take a break to think, definitely don’t delete your channel but if you feel like CZcams just isn’t what makes you happy then part ways.

  • @cherokeecheeks
    @cherokeecheeks Před rokem +1

    I saw the initial thought of this, the first sketches, identity elements and logo mark - I have often said to Naheel how much I’ve loved seeing the progression. It’s Extremely beautiful to witness a creative thought manifest and keep unfolding in such a way. With anything in life we must find balance. You’ve simply had to do it the way you’ve done it to achieve the milestones of your expression with KTOs purpose. You do this extremely well and when you do things that inspire others in this world, use those tools and keep inspiring. But also checkin with You and the balance you need to remain inspired and moving how you need to move in your life. Yes growth at a certain pace is necessary for achieving levels in this space, But do you and make content at your pace. Sometimes fast and sometimes maybe not as fast, sometimes bigger breaks. What are the things in your life that allow you to switch gears and shift into other things that fulfill you and give back to you? This can help as the cut off guide and help bring balance but doesn’t feel like a weight or more effort. You’ve been sprinting for awhile, perhaps more marathons for a bit. ✌️❤️✨

  • @user-kb5lm9el3k
    @user-kb5lm9el3k Před rokem +6

    Thanks for opening up and being honest about this bro. I work as a content manager for a pretty big company and face a lot of these same issues, especially the feeling of giving up on creativity and passion for views/numbers/what's trending. I'm sure your role is exhausting and it can be frustrating seeing your peers making more money and working less hours at a 9-5 job and that's okay. You need to realize that what you're building/have already built is way more special and will be more rewarding in the long run. 5-10 years from now you will be the face of your own successful brand making a lot of money with an entire team working under you, which will be the true dream you are chasing.
    You are so young and we are still at the bleeding edge of this whole internet/content creation world we are heading into. It's only going to get bigger and bigger and you already have 80,000 people supporting you which is incredibly impressive. We have free access to amazing tools like multiple social media platforms and artificial intelligence to help expose our content and get it in front of countless consumers. I can promise you that young, aspiring, motivated people looking to get into the music/content industry would be willing to work for you for free for the exposure and experience. Find these people and give them tasks that will help your day to day life.
    Get some inspiration by watching interviews from other successful internet influencers like Dave Portnoy, Kyle Forgeard, Cole Bennett, etc. and learn how they all started from literally nothing and are insanely successful now because of years and years of endless work while strategically evolving with the internet and content creation.
    Could you imagine a world where Cole Bennett quit at 80,000 subs? We'd never have a Lyrical Lemonade to inspire us and he would be just another regular person working a 9-5 job. Dave Portnoy was an absolute nobody handing out Barstool newspapers to strangers for years and years. He made endless content every single day and turned it into an empire and 20 years later, sold Barstool for $400M. Kyle Forgeard was dead broke driving across the country and staying at fans houses just to create CZcams videos and now runs one of the biggest podcasts and alcohol beverage in the 18-35 year old demographic.
    Take your time and grind it out. It's not a race. The money and success will come. As someone who loves content creation but has never had the balls to start his own thing, I'd kill to be in your current position of owning your own brand and receiving support from thousands and thousands of people across the world. I can promise if you throw it all away and go work a normal, boring, high paying 9:00-5:00 job, you will regret it for the rest of your life.
    Wishing you the best bro.

    Just watched the whole thing, actually gonna sit here and beg you not to quit man. As a 21 year old brown dude who’s been watching you from the jump I think you fill a pretty important niche in the music industry akin to the same way NAV does. Your content always motivates me and I’m sure it motivates a ton of other brown kids to not pigeonhole themselves into the same old doctor or engineer life path.
    Seriously it means a lot to just watch you make it from essentially nothing. I think you’re dealing with some crazy burn out right now which makes sense but if you keep that grind going I’m sure the inevitable results you see will restore that passion you miss. It 100% is not worth quitting imo, you still have an incredible amount of room to grow.

I personally love this brand it feels genuine I was hoping one day to be on this platform myself but you gotta take care of your mental health gang that goes for everybody when your passion feels like work it's time to pivot but if you still feel that fire in the pit of your stomach keep pushing ot may feel impossible you may feel like no one believe in you but it will pay off! Completely get how you feel, sometimes we have periods of burnout where we feel like it's best to move on and try something new. Not everything can last forever and sometimes it's best to grow. However, if you are able to, it's still possible to pick the channel back up and let it grow. Things like doing vlogs I always found to be cool, since they give us and inside look into the people behind the channel. Also, not to compare, but channels like OGM have multiple hosts, so in the near future (if you continue), additional hosts would always be a good thing. this was a real important game changing video with a lotta gems. it’s a sad feeling when you feel like your life revolves on an algorithm. i think there’s ways for you to find your passion again but it won’t neccicarily come from catering to the masses. i think you need to focus on the parts you love specifically and understand you’ve been enough of a base where even going more niche can be fulfilling. focus on spotlighting the newer talent and take enjoyment in building community with the true loyal viewers. focus on making content that’s interesting to you and then engaging with the people who mess with that content even if it seems like a step back. i think that’s when you’ll feel that feeling of freedom and lightness more. hiring more on air talent could for sure help take the burden off you but you’re at a pivitol moment where youve built something bigger than you but can still bend this platform to your tastes and desires. personally i wanna say that even tho you’re younger than me you’ve inspired me a lot as a brown dude trying to make a way in this world and also as a good person with a lotta honesty and insight. i live in nyc. lmk if there’s a way i can help. #brownboysup10

REMEBER you are being celebrated, which is a much better position than being in an environment where you are being tolerated. LOVE BRO -Abshar

    Much respect for you opening up man, this CZcams stuff ain’t easy. Although we make diff content I can really relate to some of the points you made. I will say socializing truly is important. Theres a reason so many people wish they spent more time with loved ones at their deathbed. Humans are wired to connect with others. That aside I’m wishing you the best of luck bro, theres no smooth road to making your dreams come true🙏🏻

    When I first discovered KTO I was super excited that there was another interview channel I get to watch and I always look forward to the videos. Maybe instead of full blown quitting it would be a good idea to have a second host to keep the channel afloat. This is an amazing channel and many people would hate to see it go ❤

    Just have fun bro! if the ig and TikTok and consistent content isn't fun, as nothing more than a fan/supporter/consumer of your content, idc how much time you take away as long as your content is something you are excited to share. but fuck a regular job, there is nothing worse than being an employee instead of a boss, in my personal opinion. But I do support you doing what feels right to you in your heart. I suggest you ask yourself if you would rather be a boss or an employee. I am very inspired by your contact, I support you continuing this journey cuz we are gonna take over for real! We can't stop now.

    Hey man, I totally understand where you are coming from. I also had similar phases where I was releasing music on a regular basis and then just disappearing for months because I just felt overwhelmed by all the different tasks involved with creating content, especially when you run your business on your own. However there are a couple things which helped me and I would like to share:
    1: Walk your speed. Happiness is one of the most important things in life and if you feel overloaded with tasks or pressure it’s not going to do you well in the long term. I feel like these day there are lots of „motivational“ speakers on TikTok and CZcams who say shit like „you gotta work every second“ or „only sleep six hours“ which is complete nonsense. Of course there will be days where this type of hussle is required but doing this on a daily basis will just destroy you. Your mental well-being is more important than some views or money. And hanging out with great people like close friends or family who will lift you up and share positivity will always be a higher quality way to spend time than chasing some dollars. As I said, being in the grind is important and money is so too, however, never put that or the internet‘s expectations over yourself.
    2: Set boundaries. If you do sports or have any hobbies, or even meet friends make sure you make up time for that and let nothing come inversen that. So for example if you like to play basketball you can make up three two-hour brackets, let’s say from 6pm-8pm on Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Now, if you get a new business task or somebody wants something from you, you can tell them when you have time, however, not during the times you made up for your sports or other hobbies. DON‘T LET ANYTHING COME BETWEEN THAT. It’s your time and that’s how it is. Of course if suddenly Drake calls you and asks for an interview it’s a different story but I‘m talking about the general jobs and tasks you are facing.
    3: We are supposed to enjoy life. I‘m fully aware that not every person on the planet has that luxury but I probably speak to most people in this comment section when I say that we won‘t die of hunger if you chill for a day or two. We have the luxury and are blessed to enjoy life to some extent and we should do so. Again, there are „motivational“ speaker who say things like „work for the first 30 years and enjoy your life afterwards“. This is true to an extent as you should work hard and you will have less to do later on if you do so. However, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn‘t enjoy the time that your are working. We never know how long we live so what does it help to work and work and not being able to enjoy the fruits to some unforseable event. Work hard but try to enjoy these moments in between WITHOUT FEELING BAD ABOUT YOURSELF. You are doing enough and if you don‘t your heart will tell you the same way it will when you do enough.
    Sorry for this waaayyyy to long text but are just some thoughts I had when it comes to this topic. I hope it help some of ya’ll.
    DON 🕯

    If this shit rlly is ur passion then if you quit you’ll forever hav an empty void that u will be eager to fill. This is something that you seem to love so you’ll find a way to make it work. There will be sacrifices you NEED to take bc that’s what comes with this shit - a lot of fuckshit - but you can’t let it stop you. A lot of this shit involves the addition of a lot of other shit that u do not want. You have to weigh out the scales and adapt until that scale is fully weighing towards your favor. Hope you’re able to figure things out, I support u either way 🙏🏽

    Brutally honest, be more grateful and thank God first off.
    -Start expanding the team, put out the message and vet people (ie interns that with the vision)*
    -Get partners that will help fund you to ease the stress of losing bread
    -Get more creative and do more engaging series; weekly updates what ur listening too, game show type vids, etc. vids you’re able to reproduce on tiktok in short bits to get engagement
    -drop more basic merch to help fund projects
    -maybe start hosting music videos on the channel since you have connects w hella artists
    You can make this work bro, you’re at a point of tension and you either have to keep applying pressure or let off completely. Do NOT sit in the middle, that will ruin you more than making a decision

    I believe quality over quantity brother, don't beat yourself up for not being constant because the content you do post is amazing and super inspiring to the youth. You know what the right decision is, just trust your gut, even if that does mean ending it nothing is worth losing yourself mentally or physically. But if you do go the corporate route just know that you will not feel any more fulfilled, maybe for a little bit since it would be a new job. But until that moment comes when a boss or manager pisses you off you'll contemplate the same thing and regret quitting what you've built. All the best man!

  • @BenCaesar

    I think you have an amazing position in the culture. That alone has longterm scale, monetizing a passion is not always the ultimate dream and no one speaks about it. But you'll find the balance

  • @jper8029
    @jper8029 Před rokem

    hugely relatable, I think you should just take some load off your back and hire some people to some things that take up too much of your time so you can just focus on what makes you happy. Don't sacrifice your integrity, it won't pay off in the long run, you will just burn out and a day will come when the cons will outweight the pros. Without that inner drive and purpouse you will just run out of fuel eventually, loving what you do is the only thing that'll make you stick with it. Also try to find a balance between work and social life, if you sacrifice too much of one, the other will be hurt as well, because you will need time to reset yourself, not really benefiting neither of those. Know you are not the only one dealing with that, there are thousands of people who can trurly relate to what you are going through, and what you do will be set as an example for all of them, make this one count! Hope all will be well bro

    really random thought - maybe try more show vlogs, behind the scenes, musiv videos? idk, maybe try weekly show/livestream talking bout news in the space, maybe create a show where u can just chill wit artists like play games or idk something more personal that u dont ususally see
    Ik i only know just a surface of what ur going through from this video but even though it may seem like theres only one path u can go down that will get in views or seems like the go to formula, thats not true! at 19 u proved that u can even do this - and right now is the best time to take ur original passion and make it something bigger
    maybe getting help on the organizational side of things may aleviate ur pressure but quitting is pointless when u even havent peaked
